Oxfam is not the only charitable organization fighting to maintain its credibility after a sex scandal. Crisis relief workers abusing their power isn't a new phenomenon.

One would expect that humanitarian workers take care of the people urgently in need of assistance during and following a crisis. But the image of the altruistic aid worker is too often a myth because anyone who is in the position to help others is the one wielding the power - and some take advantage of it.

Staff members of Britain's non-governmental organization Oxfam allegedly organized orgies with prostitutes in the organization's villa after the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010. But the scandal doesn't stop there. Sex parties were reportedly also held during relief missions in Chad in 2006. Oxfam staff members apparently even raped women in South Sudan.

It is not the first sex scandal that has shaken the world of international aid, according to Burkhard Wilke, managing director of the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI).

"Employees or partners of aid organizations in aid regions have repeatedly made themselves complicit in the sexual exploitation of the local population," he told DW.

The medical aid organizationMedicines [sic] sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) recently reported 24 cases of abuse or sexual harassment in the past year. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) admits that there have been three cases of sexual abuse during operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Brothel in the Balkans

Cases of aid worker misconduct reach back to the Yugoslavian wars in the 1990s. International aid workers were involved in the sexual exploitation of girls and women during the wars in the Balkans. UN blue helmet soldiers and humanitarian workers were all said to have visited prostitutes on a regular basis.

The German women's rights organization Medica Mondiale helped traumatized women in Bosnia during the Balkan conflict, and the Cologne-based NGO still helps girls and women in war and crisis regions.

Ara Stielau, Medica Mondiale's director of the international programs, said the aid worker scene regarded visits to prostitutes during missions as a "trivial offense and private pleasure." Stielau said she still remembers the words of a German aid organization's executive when he was confronted with the sexual misconduct of some of his employees. He apparently replied, "I can't watch what my men are doing between the sheets."

Inhibitions are lower

Economic hardship is among the reasons why women in crisis regions work as prostitutes. Women often suffer so much that they lose their inhibitions and are willing to accept food or money for sex, Stielau said. That is how local women in need of help can become dependent on male aid workers from abroad who ultimately have resources and the power to distribute relief supplies.

"Employees of an organization have money and thus the power to help one person and not another - and that creates temptation," Wilke added.

A trust crisis

"Using the services of prostitutes may not necessarily be against national laws, but it violates all codes of conduct issued by relief organizations," Wilke said, adding that organizations risk losing their reputation if their employees are caught acting immorally.

That loss of trust can be a huge problem as credibility is key in the world of international charity. NGO aid organizations depend on donations — and on the trust of donors who want to know that their money is going to the people who need it.

For this reason, Wilke said misconduct should be reported "unsparingly" to the public. Transparency is the top priority. In Germany, Wilke's institute awards a seal of approval to organizations for ethical and transparent work. In the event of misconduct, NGOs may lose the seal of approval.

I remember reading copy on a website for Russian Brides stating that they are 'unspoiled by feminism'. While being far from politically correct, there is a certain amount of truth to this.

Gender roles in Eastern Europe are (or were) closer to those of the West a generation ago that they are today. Women had less opportunities to make a good career for themselves and so saw their best prospects for advancement in using their beauty to attract a rich husband. They therefore take care of themselves better than Western women.

Helena Rubenstein once said, 'there are no ugly woman, just lazy ones'. Eastern European take a lot of care regarding this appearance and tend to 'dress to impress'. They also watch their weight a lot more than Western women do.

Genetics is probably another element to the equation - Slavic women just have very attractive features (although this can vary - no one gets too excited about Bulgarian women).

Things are changing though as feminism comes to some of the countries, specifically the Central European countries such as Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Here gender roles are changing to European norms and women are taking less care of themselves. In Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, it hasn't got to that stage yet, but chances are that they will in the future.

The above only applies to younger women; they don't tend to age too well in general and it's rare to find Eastern European 'cougars' who still look good after 40.

But even as a dyed in the wool leftist, I would consider casting my vote with a right wing party like the Tories to prevent self-ID / the Gender Recognition Act update from going into place. If the Tories were to back away from it fully, as Justine Greening seemed to be doing, I would definitely think long and hard about voting for them even though I loathe everything else they stand for...

That said, chances are quite high that I would still opt to simply spoil a ballot given that choice, rather than vote for the right wing, but I would definitely have to really think hard. I am sure that many women who are not as left wing would find it a no-brainer though.

Once self-ID goes on the books, it will stay there possibly forever. As much as Tory policies surrounding health care, Brexit, welfare, employment legistlation, and basically everything else are a flaming garbage fire, most of that could be reversed by a Labour party under new leadership that's had some sense smacked into it by the desertion of women it caused with its misogynistic behavior.

It's a very common tactic for TRAs to claim that they aren't doing/saying the thing that they are doing/saying before everyone's very eyes.

I have seen internet debates where they will say something outrageous and then in the next breath claim that they never said the thing that they said five seconds ago, and the person who called them out on it is just a crazy fantasist. It's the same tactic that all gaslighters and emotional abusers use.

Expecting a good faith debate or even a consistent position from them is foolhardy. We are dealing with a political movement that is based on male dominance and extreme narcissism - of course they are going to use the tactics of narcissists and abusers when advancing their political agenda.

Now, just a few months later, Ms. Ardern, who is not married, has announced that she is expecting her first child, due in June. A bit of basic math confirms that she must have already been pregnant while running for Prime Ministerette. How very "modern" of her. But there's more. Her "partner" and "baby daddy," Clarke Gayford, has just announced that he will take leave from his job after the birth to become a stay-at-home dad. Still more modern comedy, straight from the article:

"She admitted that her family’s situation was unusual in some ways, saying that she had suffered “pretty bad” morning sickness during the first three months while forming a new government, and that she did not know “how the government cars would feel about having a baby seat in them.”

Ms. Ardern said she planned to work right up until she gives birth and would then take six weeks of parental leave. During that time, she said, the deputy prime minister, Winston Peters, will assume her duties.

After that, Ms. Ardern added, she planned to return to “full duties,” with Mr. Gayford traveling with her and their child as often as possible."

This drama is really a dream-come-true for the modern libtard. It's got everything -- a vomiting female Prime Minister who is an unwed mother, set to collect parental leave pay while the de-balled and dutiful "baby daddy" adapts to his "stay-at-home" subordinate role. We wonder, will the Prime Ministerette be breast-feeding or breast-pumping into little plastic bottles, as she rides in the back of her limo while she and baby-daddy are out and about on state visits? Oh what a horrible example of "family life" to set for the young women and men of New Zealand!

The popular “50 Shades of Grey” romance/porn novel has been making waves in the publishing industry as women from all walks of life find themselves aroused by its theme of utter surrender to a man. According to a Fox News article, feminists, too, approve of the book, which began as a fanfic spinoff from the Twilight series (naturally).

Given how the story is described, it looks like a rip-off of the Story of O that Heartiste enthusiastically recommends as the key to understanding women’s erotic desires:

The plot of “50 Shades of Grey” centers on a young and naïve college student named Anastasia Steele who is seduced by a rich and powerful entrepreneur named Christian Grey. Grey persuades Steele to sign a contract that allows him complete control over her life, in and out of the bedroom. Yet despite the fact that Steele becomes completely submissive to a very dominant man, feminists aren’t up in arms.

You know, I’m starting to wonder whether the models of domestic violence touted by feminists in which men seek utter control over women aren’t really a pornographic fantasy. I recently watched “Sleeping with the Enemy,” a film from the 90s starring Julia Roberts as a battered wife. Although the film wasn’t all that well done, there was definitely some erotic element to the dominance and control exerted by her psychopathic husband.

Contrary to what popular myths might lead one to believe, the book is more distressing to men than to women, but that makes perfect sense. Most men are disturbed by the idea of being objectified and dominated in the bedroom, and have a hard time relating to female sexuality.

While women are applauding the book, some men are expressing concern over whether women should be insulted by a plot dominated by a man who tells a woman when to sleep, eat, work out and even how to groom herself. Television host Dr. Drew Pinsky recently called the book a “rape fantasy” on his HLN show. Women writers laughed off Pinsky’s remarks, saying there is absolutely no reason for men to weigh in on this issue at all, and certainly no reason for them to use the term rape.

Perhaps what’s most demoralizing to men is that most of them have been instructed to behave in exactly the opposite manner from what turns so many women on. Additionally, most men simply aren’t all that dominant whether they restrain themselves or not. “Christian Grey” is a figment of the female imagination — guys like that hardly exist in real life. When they do turn up, other men take them down.

Nevertheless, the book and the discussions surrounding it show that the cat’s out of the bag. Men who have been fooled about women’s true nature for their entire lives, and who still try to fool themselves, are finding themselves demoralized by women’s enthusiastic endorsement of utter objectification and submission.

Paul seemed a bit confused by its success, asking “Is it possible that so many women dream of becoming the submissive partner of a dominant male partner which, after all, is the central plot of the book?” He discovers that yes, in fact, this is what they dream of.

Nobody really feels sorry for a chump whose woman cheated on him — they tend to laugh at him. It’s unfortunate, but it seems to be human nature.

In a business like Hollywood, losing respect is not very good for your career. A guy whose girlfriend cheated on him is going to have a harder time landing a leading role. The girl, for her part, takes some punishment as well. But the alpha male cheater doesn’t really lose. In fact, he tends to gain respect (whether people admit it or not). Therefore, the woman who cheats betrays her man socially and professionally as well as sexually. It’s a very nasty thing to do to a guy, because unlike a betrayed wife, he gets ridicule instead of sympathy.

Cheating women don’t just make you feel bad; they make you look bad, too. And that does have real life consequences. When women betray men, it really is worse.

The one positive thing is that this will probably damage Stewart’s career more than Pattinson’s. He’s got decades to live this down, but by the time it’s forgotten she’ll already be over the hill for an actress.

Sluts just screw things up for lots of people. That’s why we shame them, and should continue to do so.
