We are bombarded by messages of yoga’s peaceful and healthful benefits, but what we don’t hear, specifically in the United States, is the true origins of this type of lifestyle. Laurette made it very clear to me in a recent phone interview.

“These are postures that are offered to the 330 million Hindu gods. Yoga postures really are; they are offerings to the gods. If you do these postures and you do this breathing technique and this meditation, then you will be accepted by a god, little “G.” That’s the real danger,” she said.

Laurette told me that one of her PraiseMoves certified personal trainers visited India for three months on a mission trip, and she would often see people in the streets doing yoga poses in front of the statues of the gods.

“Romans 12:1-2 says we are to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to God,” added Laurette. “Here they are doing something very similar with these postures to their 330 million gods, and it is scary. So we abstain from things offered to idols—Acts 15:29.”

In yoga they do what they call pranayama breathing. Prana is the Hindu word for life force, the same concept as the word chi in some martial arts. Yoga breathing attempts to manipulate that life energy, which Laurette believes is perilous. “That is a dangerous thing,” she said, “because I think that we are coming out from under the blood of Jesus when we do stuff like that, and we are no match for the enemy in those areas. I think of what Paul said in Ephesians 2:2, that Satan is the prince of the power of the air. We are not talking about oxygen.”

A third area of concern in yoga is the concept of emptying the mind, which is contradictory to what Christianity teaches. As Laurette explained, “We are transformed by the renewing of our minds, not the emptying.”

Along with emptying the mind, yoga guides people into astral travel, which is where people actually leave their bodies, a practice that Laurette was familiar with and has since questioned. “I wonder with those experiences when I left my body what got in there when I was gone?” Laurette posed. “As a Christian with the Holy Spirit in there, we are not going to be possessed, I don’t think. But one could easily be oppressed.”

Clearly, with this understanding of yoga, Christians should think twice before heading to the local gym for a yoga class. But if you are a Christian who thinks it’s all right to attend yoga classes because you think you are strong enough not to fall prey to the spiritual deception that’s being taught and you enjoy the physical benefits, Laurette pleads in all seriousness that you to please consider a younger believer or weaker Christian who is watching your lifestyle. If you go to a yoga class, chances are they might be inspired to go also, and they could fall completely off track in their walk with God.

[...]

But Laurette warns that yoga’s ability to bring a sense of calm is one of its deceptive charms: “That’s one thing people look at, too,” said Laurette. “They say, ‘My doctor, my chiropractor, my physical therapist says to do it. It helps me. I feel less stressful.’ Well, it wouldn’t be a hook if it didn’t have something good in it.”

Yoga also fulfilled a spiritual need in Laurette’s life. Though her family went to church, Laurette says she never heard the message of salvation preached there. “We didn’t know about living the victorious Christian life,” she explained. “We were not aware of the deception that is inherent within yoga and its connections to Hinduism. It seemed so spiritual, so it was fulfilling a void that was in our lives. I have found that any part of our lives that is not submitted to the lordship of Jesus Christ is an open door for the enemy.

The goal of all yoga, Laurette explains, is to obtain oneness with the universe. That's also known as the process of enlightenment, or union with Brahman (Hinduism's highest god). The word "yoga" means "union" or "to yoke."

"Yoga wants to get students to the point of complete numbness in their minds. God, on the other hand, wants you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind through his Word," Laurette says.

Before she became a Christian, Laurette used subliminal tapes to train her mind to empty itself. These tapes are often used in yoga classes, she says. She also taught yoga classes and instructed her students in astral projection, or "stepping outside" of the body, which Laurette says poses a serious spiritual danger.

"If there's nothing in your mind, you're open to all kinds of deception. After coming to Christ, I wondered who—or what—came into my body when I 'stepped out.' While I don't believe Christians can become possessed, I do believe we can become oppressed by demonic spirits of fear, depression, lust, false religion, etc. These are all things designed to draw us away from Jesus Christ."

In the midst of this widespread affront to the fitrah (natural human disposition), the Islamic State continues its efforts against these deeds of misguidance – which Western “Civilization” regards as a part of their “values” – by implementing the rulings of Allah on those who practice any form of sexual deviancy or transgression.

This was demonstrated recently in Wilayat Ar- Raqqah, where the Islamic State carried out the hadd on a man found guilty of engaging in sodomy. He was taken to the top of a building and thrown off, as was one of the traditions of the noble companion Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (radiyallahu ‘anh) with those who committed this filthy deed. Also in Wilayat Ar-Raqqah, a woman was stoned after being found guilty of zina. In Wilayat al- Khayr, meanwhile, a man was recently flogged as a ta’zir (disciplinary punishment) after he was found to be in possession of pornographic material.

Quote# 106707

One of the most quoted verses from the Bible is Matthew 7:1 "Judge not!" Whenever someone speaks out against something that God calls sin, "Don't judge!" can be heard coming from a thousand lips. People don't like to have other people disapprove of the way they're choosing to live their life.

I will speak to you a hard truth. I do not write this because I think that it will bring me popularity. It won't. But it is Truth from the Word of God: the Bible.
To not tell people this is to hide the truth from them. To keep silent is to not care for their eternal destiny! I care about you, and this is why I am speaking out!

In this world, people have seared their consciences. The standard of what is "ok" or "permissible" in our society today, hardly reflects God's standard.
People are content to live on in lying, cursing, pride, anger, bitterness, disrespecting of parents, lust, pornography, fornication, adultery, and other sexual sins-- and if anyone tries to confront them, their attitude and response is, "You live your life, I'll live mine. Don't you tell me what to do! Only God can judge me!"
They don't even realize what they're saying. God's judgement isn't something to be taken lightly! It should scare you! Man's "judgement" is a 1000x lighter... usually just a voicing of disapproval. But when unbelieving, sinful men die and stand before God, He justly condemns them to hell.

But people disregard the Bible, and instead use all kinds of human logic to try to justify their way of living:

Person #1: "I've been living this lifestyle for years, and I'm a 'Christian.' I don't feel that God is angry with me. I believe in a loving God, not one who would send people to hell."
The person speaking this is right-- their god is not angry with them. He can't be, because he doesn't exist. They are not talking about the God of the Bible. They have created a god in their own mind to suit themselves. They have removed any notion of the Justice of God, and have created a god of their imagination that they can be comfortable with.
The Bible teaches that God is a Just Judge, and He must punish sin. Every one of us have broken God's law, and hell is our deserved punishment. (Unless you're reading some very distorted "translation" of the Bible, you cannot get around the fact that there is a hell).

Person #2: "I have a 'peace' about this, and I'm listening to my heart. God doesn't seem to be judging me. If God didn't approve, why wouldn't He strike me dead right now?"
First off, our human hearts are bent toward sin and not righteousness. We shouldn't follow the inclinations of our heart, but rather we know what is right and wrong according to what we find in God's Word: the Bible.
Secondly, God isn't slacking to fulfill His promised Judgement on sin--it's coming. And the only reason you're are alive right now is because He is merciful and has kept your heart beating for another day. He is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance. But He will not hold back forever. The hours of your time here on earth are ticking away. You're not promised another day, or even another breath. God's Day of Judgement draws near. It will come as a thief in the night--when you least expect it. Everything that you have done in secret will be exposed. Nothing we do is hidden from God's view. (1 Peter 3:9&10)

This should be concerning to you. I know it was for me! When I saw myself in light of God's standard, and I knew that I fell short. But I found hope in the Gospel-- the "good news" of Jesus Christ! I would still be lost today were it not for His grace!

Read what God has done so that you and I might be forgiven of our sins and saved from the punishment we deserve:

16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."
John 3:16-21

Repent! Turn away from sin, and to Jesus Christ today! Be saved from the wrath to come.

The believing man has Christ's perfect record put to their account.
God gives him a new heart and new desires.
If you find yourself a sinner in need of Jesus, then open your Bible today and begin to read the books of John and Romans. Let the Word of God root out the sins of your heart. Do not let up until you have found Salvation for your soul!

Allow me to reword the conclusion of this NR statement for endarkening clarification:

“In a world where fewer ugly, unfeminine, financially self-sufficient women can or need to rely on provider beta males, some will themselves take on the protective coloration of exaggerated male characteristics — blustering, cursing, belligerence, defiance, and also, as needed, promiscuity that leaves them feeling gross and unloved the next morning after Jack has slipped out the back.”

The view is coming into focus now.

Loudmouthed feminists are more often than not:

ugly,
out of shape chunksters,
unfeminine androgynes,
older, Wall-victim spinsters,
spiteful, LSMV misfits…

who simultaneously loathe and envy the natural freedom and energy of male sexual desire. Because feminists are losers in the sexual marketplace, (and because they know it), they seek to tear down the organic, biomechanically-grounded social and sexual orders and replace them with bizarre androgynous dystopias that help them feel better about themselves. Their justified feelings of low self-worth cause them to lash out at men in the aggregate, (and particularly at lower value beta males), and at prettier, feminine women who by their mere existence daily remind feminists of their pitiful ranking in the hierarchy of female romantic worth.

When losers stop knowing their place, and begin insisting their betters are no such thing, and worse when the losers have acquired the power and means to punish their betters, you get what we have today: A failure to propagate; to propagate as a race and to propagate as a successful civilization.

[ on the ethics of drugging someone into "loving" you against their will ]

They say anything goes in love and war, or something like that.

Let's say that 'fake' love gave rise to a child. And that child is a happy child, and made both parents happy, cemented their love further, so to speak. What then?

You can't go back in time and undo it all, can ya? Even if ya thought it was unethical in the first place, breaking up what is now an idyllic family would be equally, if not even more, unethical.
But suppose, just suppose, you were one of the parents in that family, the one who used the potion specifically, would you now still be spending your nights wallowing in guilt? Or would you be focusing on the happy present, and let bygones be bygones?

Atheists: Evidence science is wrong?

The possibility exists that living dinosaurs never existed. "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23).
The dinosaur industry should be investigated and questions need to be asked. I am unaware of any evidence or reason for absolutely believing dinosaurs ever were alive on earth. The possibility exists that the concept of prehistoric living dinosaurs has been a fabrication of nineteenth and twentieth century people possibly pursuing an evolutionary and anti-Bible and anti-Christian agenda.

The past existence of living dinosaurs has not yet been proven. Questioning what is being told instead is a better choice rather than blindly believing the dinosaur story. Issues should be carefully considered for the sake of good science. "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called” (1 Timothy 6:20).

The choice between believing the word of man, the evolutionists, or the word of God, the Bible, is a matter of faith.

[Larry King says he's an atheist]

Is King aware that there are other forces at work in the Bible, besides the Godhead?

Did the Grahams or the Olsteens [that King has interviewed] ever up-front share with him Ephesians 6:12?

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

I notice this occurs in almost every snarky exchange between non-believers and Christians. God takes all the mockery and blame, yet Satan (and Ashteroth, Baal, Chemosh, Dagon, Milcom, Molech, and every other name the fallen angels have taken) is rarely ever brought up. It's almost like 'fog of war' conditions that these people can't quite perceive what is occurring, on the spiritual level, in our day.

Did these ministers ever happen to share that deliverance consisted of 1/3rd of Jesus' ministry while on earth--in which he gave that authority to drive out evil spirits (and heal the sick) to ALL believers?

Just my thoughts...

Quote# 106686

Since our Leftist media seem anxious to have a conversation about theology, I say we oblige. This week in their trolling of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker presents a panel discussion on whether or not President Barack Hussein Obama really is a Christian.

Although Mr. Walker is the son of a Baptist preacher, the Republican is not the most qualified individual to determine who is and isn’t a Christian. The “good news” (pardon the pun) is I know someone who is.

Even better, he’s very much alive and kicking as we speak. And he’s so eager for his opinion to be known on such matters that he preserved a written record of all his thoughts and deeds, which has become the greatest best-seller in history.

Who is more qualified to consult on who is and isn’t a Christian than Jesus Christ?

When I asked him what he thought, Jesus made it quite clear that President Obama is not a Christian. And he was also kind enough to give me some quotes I could pass on to ya’ll.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

Mr. Obama has referred to Islam’s Koran as “holy” (which means a state of completeness/perfection set apart from the sinfulness of man), and Muhammad as a “prophet” (which means truth-teller).

However, on the most important point of them all Islam and Christianity contradict each other. Islam teaches that Jesus wasn’t even crucified, which means he wasn’t resurrected. But the Bible teaches there is no Christianity without the crucifixion and resurrection (or what Christians celebrate on Good Friday and Easter). These are irreconcilable views. So right away these two religions are incompatible, and at least one of them is lying.

Christianity and Islam could both be false, but they can’t both be true. No sincere Christian would elevate something that distorts and diminishes the fundamental moment of Christianity as “holy.” Nor would they bestow the title of “prophet” upon someone who has spread a false message about Christ.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21)

Just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn’t mean they are one. It’s not like Mr. Obama would be the first politician to claim to be something he’s not.

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and you do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)

Jesus commands us not to lie, yet Mr. Obama has lied repeatedly (“if you like your current health care plan you can keep it,” as just one example). Jesus commands us not to murder, yet Mr. Obama is the most pro-murder president we have ever had (including voting against a bill to protect babies who survive abortions while in the Illinois State Legislature). Jesus says marriage is between a man and a woman, and we are created male and female. Yet Mr. Obama promotes redefining marriage and so-called transgenderism.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34)

Jesus gave this commandment to his followers, yet under Mr. Obama we see Christians consistently targeted for their beliefs (Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-a, Little Sisters of the Poor, military personnel, and numerous other Christians who refuse to comply with Obama-imposed immorality). Why would a president who’s a Christian use his power to consistently target other Christians?

“For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:26)

From excluding references to Christ on the official White House Christmas card, to referring to Jesus as “a son of God” (when Jesus claimed he was the only son of God), Mr. Obama has gone out of his way on numerous occasions to deny the supremacy of Christ. What kind of Christian would deny the power and glory of his own savior?

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

Mr. Obama‘ spiritual mentor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was Mr. Obama’s pastor for 20 years. He baptized Mr. Obama and his daughters, and officiated his wedding to the first lady. Through the years, Mr. Wright taught many things from his pulpit like anti-Semitism, black liberation theology, racism, conspiracy theory, and Marxism.

[...]

Jesus says sincere faith comes only by the hearing of his words. With Mr. Wright preaching nearly everything but Jesus‘ actual words, how could Mr. Obama come to sincere faith in such a church?

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” (Matthew 7:15-20)

Given everything you’ve already read, would you say Mr. Obama’s tree bears good fruit or bad fruit? Besides, I’m mystified as to why our Leftist media, which bows at the altar of secularism, is so concerned about Mr. Obama’s religion? Unless they’re hoping to re-brand Christianity in Mr. Obama’s Marxist image.

[...]

For now my work here is finished. On the other hand, the work of God-haters who will viciously demagogue what I just wrote, without supplying any rational basis for their assertions there’s anything remotely Christian about Obama (thus proving my point), I’m sure is just beginning. Why the same Leftists who vehemently loathe Christianity want their progressive hero to be labeled a Christian is beyond me. Regardless, Jesus has a final word for them as well:

“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.” (Matthew 10:28)

Quote# 106673

There are two ways a Jew is entitled to the land of Israel- one of them is the concept of circumcision. However, upon deeper understanding, it is not just the fact that one is circumcised that entitles him to live here. It is the associated morality that earns him his rightly place in this holy land. If the people of Israel live a morally upright life, they will be free to live in Israel in peace. However, instead of G-d taking the land away from the Jewish People if they break the covenant of morality, He has put us into exile. Is it starting to make sense now?

We can clearly see the spiritual big picture now. How many of us can say we are living morally upright lives? Even in Israel, all a person needs to do is go to Tel Aviv, home of the nightclubs and far-from-righteous behavior. All over the world, as a whole can us Jews honestly say we are a moral people? Do young, single Miami and New York Jews frequent bars just as much as non-Jews? You bet! I used to be in that young, single crowd, way back in the day. Do we text and flirt and have illicit relationships just as much as others? We sure do!

[...]

So what can we do to fix this problem? One solution is to work on overcoming our animalistic desires. Men, that means you. If you are regular visitors to adult sites, by all means, STOP. You cannot imagine the spiritual ramifications of your actions. If you live your lives looking for the next cheap thrill or one-night-stand, STOP. Aside from all of the broken hearts you leave by the side of the road, you are also doing tremendous spiritual damage to yourselves, your “lady friends”, and all of us collectively.

[...]

Ladies, don’t think you’re off the hook so easily. If you dress and/or act provocatively, you are just as much a partner in crime as your partner of the evening. Hanging yourselves as cheap bait waiting to be swallowed up and spit out by the pirana on the prowl is just asking for trouble. You are worth infinitely more than that. Hold yourselves to a higher standard- you are The King’s daughters, worthy of a man who will cherish you and treat you like the princesses that you are. Don’t settle for anything less.

[...]

If we are serious about reclaiming the rights to our beloved Israel, a moral lifestyle is the primary way to do this. May we all collectively merit to bring about an end to the threats that surround us, and may we welcome the era of peace and tranquility this year, Amen.

I hate to break it to you, but your wife suffers from a severe form of ADHD: Attention-Deficient Husband Disorder. But don't feel bad; unfortunately, it's a very common disorder these days. Maybe the insatiably greedy and conscience-impaired people over at Big Pharma can come up with a vaccine for this. Alas, until then, we'll have to work on fixing the problem ourselves...

Wives are a strange and complicated species, one whose emotional moods range way beyond the scope of this answer. But there is one general rule that applies to all wives, as Rav Shalom Arush explains: a wife is dependent on her husband for her inner sense of happiness and worth. In Rebbe Nachman's Wisdom, lies the heart of the problem with modern medicine. Point #50 states: "The Rebbe often spoke to us about physicians and medicine, denouncing them in the strongest terms. He advised us to avoid them, even in the case of serious illness." Apparently Rebbe Nachman foresaw the future tyrannical rise of Big Pharma. Yes, it's true- Big Pharma really does want to control the world. There- I said it. Prove me wrong.

But what is the crux of the problem with their world domination? Aside from the fact that there are many more chronic illnesses than ever before, people are generally not much healthier. Worse than that, however, is the side effect that modern medicine has created: it has transformed us from once-in-a-white patients to life-long patients. What does this mean for us?

It means that we have given up control over our health. Modern medicine has switched the focus from living a healthy lifestyle to prevent and/or overcome disease to using medical interventions to overcome (yet certainly not prevent!) disease. For every little cold, we run to the doctor for a magic pill. Never mind the hundreds of side effects. We live in a society that wants a quick fix, and the consequences can be dealt with later- with more pills, of course. FYI, people- antibiotics don't cure viruses!! As for bacterial infections, medicine suppresses the infection deep into the nervous system, and lowers our immune defenses at the same time. Talk about a 2 for 1 deal!

So what does all this have to do with Obamacare? I think Hashem wants us to reclaim our health and overhaul our decadent, materialistic lifestyles. Unfortunately, He had to bring us to a point where many people simply have no choice but to learn how to fix their health problems on their own, because health care has become unaffordable for many Americans.

[...]

There are times when modern medicine can save a life. This is wonderful. However, we need to clarify when we need it and when we don't. And, of course, we can't forget that G-d runs the world. If He wants us to be healthy or sick, that's His choice, and we must trust that it's for our best. Our job is to take care of ourselves using the tools that He gave us- our minds, Google, and lots and lots of personal prayer!

This "music" appeals to angry depressed youngsters who haven't found themselves; who haven't found G-d, and who certainly haven't found a solid purpose for living.

Young people who are angry at their parents, angry at themselves, and angry at life - are easily seduced by the violent screaming, cursing and the images of death and mutilation that reflect what they feel inside. Death Metal itself is written by depressed, drug-addicted suicidal youth who normalize suicide and homicide as viable even desirable options for themselves and their peers. In today's world, where a suicide takes place every 40 seconds, there are young people who are killing themselves with this "music" playing in the background right now!

Dan fell into Death Metal - almost, all the way. He changed his dress. He stopped smiling and even began to produce and sell this awful "music" himself. He couldn't give it up because it was his "identity," it was the only "him" that he knew. Needless to say, Dan's observance of tefillin, prayer, and Shabbos fell to the wayside; and it wasn't long before his suppressed anger turned to rage and even violence towards his parents.

[...]

I just told Dan what he really wanted to hear - the truth. I told him that Death Metal and pornography were the problem and that nothing else would help him if he didn't cut them both out completely. He wondered how I could "blame" his problems on Heavy Metal when other people who listened to it seemed to be "okay." I told him that they were far from "okay." But even if they seemed to be getting away with listening to it, for now, that he would never be able to listen to it and function normally again. I told him that whether he liked it or not he was a very spiritually person who could never tolerate such impurity. I reminded him that it isn't everyone who was given the great spiritual awakening that he was give a few short years ago. This was why G-d was giving him these weird symptoms. He wanted him to have no choice but to follow through on his original plan of becoming religious.

Dan wasn't buying that "music" however filthy and profane could account for his symptoms. He had heard enough of my religious babble and was once again searching for a real psychologist - someone who would agree with him that he could be cured without having to give up Heavy Metal and pornography. I wished him luck finding someone who could accomplish such a feat - I for one could not.

[...]

Heavy metal and pornography were lethal weapons that the evil inclination uses to bring psychological havoc and destruction upon people.

There has been a great deal of mainstream media attention lately, both video and print, regarding the fact that ISIS is recruiting based on the promise that their fighters are actually participating in the rapidly approaching end of the world.

At the same time, mainstream orthodox Muslim websites are already predicting Jesus' return as early as 2022, starting an Islamic prophetic clock set to run over the next 7 years, in the purportedly rapidly approaching run-up to Armageddon.

Dr. Michael Ryan of the Middle East Institute shared his valuable insights into ISIS' recruiting strategy. We learned that ISIS actually complains in their internal communiqués about their difficulty recruiting informed Muslims, because "Islam makes them tend towards life and their community". They find more success attracting Muslims they call "losers" -- ignorant about their Islamic faith and marginalized by drugs, alcoholism, crime, mental illness or recent life-changing events.

Non-ISIS muslim end of the world countdown here http://www.discoveringislam.org/clear_view_end_time_1.htm

12,000 Reasons to Believe the Bible is the Word of God

I woke up with a head cold today. As usual, I said to myself, "This one doesn't seem too bad."

After going through a box of tissues I resigned myself to it being bad. Next will come the blocked dose (sp. deliberate), having to sleep with an open mouth to be able to breathe, then comes the cough, which comes in a variety of categories.

There's the drive-you-crazy tickle. The painful "hack." Then there's the one that waits until you are about to drift off to sleep that causes you to cough until your lungs are turned inside out, and then some.

And this is just the everyday good old common cold we all get regularly, for no real reason.

According to the WHO (not the rock group)--the World Health Organization, there are approximately 12,000 disease categories [1].

That's 12,000 reasons to believe the Bible when it says that we live in a fallen creation, under the Genesis curse.

If someone asked you what you thought the biggest hoax of the century was, what would you tell them? The 'UFOs' that were just a cover-up for all the military testing that was going on in the 1950s? That nuclear energy really is safe? That the Palestinians really want peace with Israel?

I'd pick this: that there really is a chemical imbalance in people's brains, and that's why they need to take lots of mind-altering drugs.

Before you get all huffy with me, give me a couple of minutes' grace, and just read to the end of the article. I've been doing a lot of research into depression as part of my preparations to train for and start up an aromatherapy practice.

[...]

Anti-depressants don't work. Placebo sugar pills achieved the same 'success rates' as the drugs - without all the horrible side effects.

[...]

Do you know that anti-depressants are linked to a whole bunch of horrible things including weight gain, permanent dysfunction in the bedroom; birth defects like autism (yes, you read that correctly); tics, neurological damage and with long-term use, even things like Alzheimer's and Parkinsons?

[...]

Do you know just how many of the mums I know are on anti-depressants? Do you know how many of them are urging their friends and relatives to follow suit?

They'd have a heart-attack if their kid developed a coke habit, or became a heroin junky - but I guess if their child got it on prescription from their doctor, somehow, that would be OK.

People, we need to listen to our holy rabbis! Rav Shalom Arush, Rabbi Lazer Brody and others have been telling us for years that Prozac is bad, that 'chemical imbalances' is a big lie an that the only way to really be happy is to learn some emuna.

There are no shortcuts: either, we learn emuna and put G-d in the picture, or we take Prozac and give ourselves potentially irreversible brain-damange. The choice is ours...

Quote# 106663

So many people nowadays are putting off marriage for all sorts of reasons. Most of their excuses center around finances, but they don't understand that the best way to get money for a marriage is to get engaged and set a date. They also don't realize that anything they do - whether learning Torah or pursuing a profession - will be much more successful once they're married.

With Rebbe Nachman's teachings in mind, we can summarize eight main points why marrying young is desirable:

1. Our sages teach us not to delay doing a mitzvah once we have the opportunity to perform the mitzvah. The Torah's first command to mankind is, "Be fruitful and multiply." As with every other mitzvah, we should strive fulfill the commandment of marriage and starting a family as soon as possible.

2. Our sages teach that a person must marry before the age of twenty to maintain a pure mind. A man who marries young is far more capable of maintaining personal holiness, or tikkun habrit, which is conducive to every blessing in life - good income, success, peace of mind and much more.

3. An unmarried person is not a whole person, for he or she lacks a soul mate from whom he or she can derive tremendous strength and gratification. Therefore, a person should marry as soon as he or she is mature enough. The one that one should first complete higher education or save the needed funds is erroneous. Indeed, a married person is much more settled and serious as far as learning goes. Also, one's income comes by virtue of one's wife (see Likutei Moharan I:69). A married person will have a much greater blessing for the income that he needs. Besides, a person who truly honors his wife is guaranteed to have financial success.

4. The greats of Israel all married at a young age. Not only did marriage not hinder their personal and spiritual growth, but it helped them become great. Rebbe Nachman himself married at the age of 13, and so did Rebbe Natan.

5. A couple living in holiness is the ideal vessel for abundance, whereas single people are not.

6. Since a married person must provide for a wife and children, he gives Hashem the reasons to give him the blessings of an income and livelihood, as well as good character.

7. Marriage gives a person stability and motivation. A married person has a reason to apply himself. He's much more serious and mature and less confused and swayed.

8. The younger a person is, the more adaptable he or she is to a spouse. Younger parents often have a closer rapport with their children.

In light of the above, marriage at a young age is a blessing any way you look at it. Those who delay marriage for all types of seemingly logical reasons are often big losers. Those who marry young, while not nit-picking in choosing a partner for they know that they themselves are not perfect, see big blessings.

With emuna, we know that Divine providence plays the main role in finding the right spouse. A person does his best to find a compatible partner, and Hashem does the rest. So, if a person does his utmost to observe the Torah’s commandments, he’ll most likely find a suitable soul mate with relative ease. For those in doubt, the holy Ariza’l said that if a person stands under the chuppa (marital canopy) with someone, then that’s his true soul mate. No matter what a person did previously, if he makes an effort to do teshuva and get married, he’ll undoubtedly be blessed with his true soul mate.

Over the last few months, I have been very lethargic and foggy headed. I recently lost 20 pounds of weight and thought that I would intrinsically have more energy. I also go through spurts of being connected to Hashem followed by periods when the spirituality leaves me. In short, since I became a Baal Teshuva two years ago - thanks to Lazer Beams and Breslev.co.il - I have been spending a lot of time in hitbodedut and self-evaluation. But recently, I spoke to a rabbi who I thin is a Kabbalist, and he told me his take on Shmirat HaBrit (personal holiness).

After he explained the severity of the sin of spilling seed in vain, I "freaked out." He told me that this is the worst of all sins that I have been very guilty of particularly before I was married. However, everything in terms of my lethargy and losing my desire for spirituality started to fit together. My wife and I started keeping Taharat mishpacha (family holiness) about a year ago. During the 7 white days where before we kept Taharat mishpacha we would have relations, now we don't - this has been murder on me. In short, I would "harmlessly" release myself once or twice during the period. It started to make sense ...the lethargy and loss of desire to connect to HASHEM after each release. I immediately jumped in the mikvah.

I was so freaked out that I even asked a religious friend of mine last night how he gets through the period. He said that it is very hard and whenever he falls, he noticed that the punishment is instantaneous. For example he said he did it the night before his CPA exam and failed the test. Or a child becomes sick the next day. He said that he never spoke about it with anyone but the correlation was so sharp that it was clear to him. In fact he said that whenever he falls, he simply awaits the punishment.

With that said, I started reciting Tikkun Klali and jumped daily in the mikvah. The change in my energy level was sharp and amazing. I took out my samurai sword and said to my yetzer hara, I've got you now! Last night, I went to bed at 1 am and jumped out if bed at 5 am ready to pray. However I twisted and turn in a fit of libido where it felt as if my prostate filled up to the burst point. In pain I went to pray shacharit and then to a very cold mikva. By the time the afternoon rolled around, the prostate pain was so intense that I lost it and now I am foggy headed waiting for my punishment.

[...]

In that I have a few more days before the pressure builds again, I want to be ready for the next onslaught. I know you're tremendously busy, but my soul and I need help right away. You know how urgent this is.

Quote# 106658

SALMON, Idaho (Reuters) - Members of a county Republican Party in Idaho are to take up a measure on Tuesday evening that would declare the state a Christian one to bolster what the proposal calls the "Judeo-Christian bedrock of the founding of the United States."

The resolution to be voted on by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee is non-binding, meaning it does not have the effect of laws or rules.

The proposal seeks that Idaho be "formally and specifically declared a Christian state," guided by a Judeo-Christian faith reflected in the U.S. Declaration of Independence where all authority and power is attributed to God, the resolution reads.

The measure argues that the Christian faith is under "strident attack" in the United States, and cites as evidence the absence of Christian traditions and symbols in public institutions such as schools.

The issue has sparked debate within the Republican stronghold of northern Idaho, once known for harboring leaders of the so-called Christian identity or white supremacist movement such as the late Aryan Nations founder Richard Butler.

Supporters say the measure echoes the Christian principles espoused by early U.S. presidents such as Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, and that it has added significance at a time when Christians are subject to persecution in countries such as Syria where it is not the dominant religion.

"We're a Christian community in a Christian state and the Republican Party is a Christian Party," said Jeff Tyler, a member of the committee and backer of the draft resolution.

"It's important that Christians stand up and be unashamed to say they're Christians."

Other committee members said they opposed the proposal, but that it placed them in a difficult position because if they voted against it they risked being unjustly labeled as anti-Christian.

Bjorn Handeen, a committee member who described himself as a Republican with libertarian leanings, said he is opposed to any document that puts the government in charge of defining Christianity.

He said the resolution was pushed by a small group within the committee that is bent on creating division among its about 70 members.

"Ultimately, I'm not in favor of dividing us by religion; I'm in favor of uniting us by freedom," Handeen said.

If approved, the resolution would be submitted to the state Republican Party for a vote by its members.

Idaho has long been a Republican bastion, with party members holding the majority of state offices.
