Indian Science Congress Speakers Say Newton Was Wrong, Ancient Demon-King Had Planes
January 9, 201912:56 PM ET

At this year's annual meeting of the Indian Science Congress from Jan. 3 to 7, senior research scientist Kannan Jegathala Krishnan dismissed Albert Einstein's theory of relativity as "a big blunder" and said Isaac Newton didn't really understand how gravity works.

Nageswara Rao, a vice chancellor at Andhra University in South India, said that Ravana, a demon god with 10 heads, had 24 kinds of aircraft of varying sizes and capacities — and that India was making test-tube babies thousands of years ago.

Dinosaurs were created by the Hindu god Brahma, said Ashu Khosla, a scientist with expertise in paleontology at Panjab University in the North Indian city of Chandigarh.

Not exactly the kind of remarks you would expect at an event whose mission is to advance and further the cause of science, to stimulate discussion on scientific theories and to create an awareness of science-related issues, especially among children — and that is funded by the Indian government's Ministry of Science and Technology.

Krishnan, Rao and Khosla were addressing a group of 5,000 children assembled from all over the country at the event's Children's Science Congress. Their lectures were posted on YouTube and reported widely by the press. The congress organizers were red-faced, and the scientific community in India was outraged.

The organizers of the conference were taken aback. "This is the 106th edition of the Science Congress," said the group's general secretary Premendu P. Mathur in an interview with NPR. "Since 1914, we've had so many meaningful conversations with children on science. We've hosted Nobel laureates from around the world, and yet the controversy overshadows the good when some people misuse our platform for personal and political gain."

About 15,000 scientists from India and around the world attend the conference every year, said Ashok Saxena, a zoologist and a former president of the congress, in an interview with NPR. They are a part of the 50,000-strong Indian Science Congress.

Invitations were sent to 250 scientists and researchers to speak at the various sessions of the annual event.

Among the famous attendees this year were three Nobel laureates: Hungarian-born Israeli biochemist Avram Hershko, who won the prize for chemistry in 2004; British-born physicist Duncan M. Haldane, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2016; and German-born American Nobel laureate for medicine in 2013, Thomas Christian Südhof,

Addressing the comments made during the children's event, Saxena said, "We never dreamed that some of them would spout such irrational ideas. They were invited to speak based on their science credentials."

But this isn't the first time the Indian Science Congress has been mired in controversy. In 2016, Nobel laureate Venkatraman Ramakrishnan famously called the event "a circus" because of the way religious ideologies held sway over science and said he wouldn't attend another session.

Many scientists believe that politics is the problem.

The rise of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party, in 2014 meant that the ideals of the organization that it is closely linked with — a right-wing group called the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) — are now mainstream. The RSS believes in propagating Hindutva as a nationalist movement. The term refers to the effort to establish a Hindu way of life and glorifying Hindu beliefs.

Kelantan: Underage marriage is necessary

A ROUNDTABLE by state agencies in Kelantan has determined that underage marriage is a necessity and in accordance with Islamic laws, reported Utusan Malaysia.

This was part of the seven resolutions tabled during the discussions on Nov 28.

The roundtable rejected two United Nations conventions on children and women, which did not allow for children under 18 to be married.

Stakeholders at the roundtable contended that the two conventions were not suitable for Muslims in Kelantan as there were social ills.

The state, they said, also had strict laws before agreeing to child marriages and there was no need to amend these.

The current Islamic Family Law Enactment of Kelantan sets the minimum marriageable age at 18 for boys and 16 for girls.

> The daily also reported that local singer Ella was contented to be the Rock Queen of Malaysia for now.

However, she said she would not turn down a Datukship.

“I won’t say no if there is someone who wants to bestow me a Datukship but for now, what is bestowed upon me by my fans is the best recognition,” said the 52-year-old.

> Metro Harian reported that a rape suspect in Beijing, China, who used his pet snake to scare his victim, died after he was bitten by the reptile.

The suspect was believed to have been playing with the snake in the bathtub when it bit him.

A CCTV recording showed the poisonous snake slithering out of the room. It was later caught by firemen.

Police had been trying to arrest the man ever since a woman reported that she was raped by the suspect who threatened her with the snake.

[A post arguing that America was founded on Christianity that, or so he claims.]

You weren't alive when the revolution started, and neither was I, but I can see that it started changing because people started serving themselves, doing things that brought pleasure to themselves even if it was at someone else's expense. And they tried to justify it in their mind by saying that there is no God, that this whole "God" is a sham to make us feel bad for doing something wrong. That's the equivalent of a kid closing their eyes and telling themselves "there's not a man with a knife outside my door" when there really is one.... they can convince themselves that such a thing doesn't exist, but oops.... it really does.... and when that kid opens the door, they're in for a bad kind of surprise. I understand the draw to atheism... it'd be nice if I could just go around and have sex with any girl I ever felt drawn towards, and drink all the alcohol I wanted, and when I get bored with my wife, just leave her and cheat on her.... or whatever other "sin" you struggle with... it'd be nice to be able to do it without being guilty of anything, but you're doing nothing more than telling yourself that you have nothing to be guilty about. You might as well be listening to those tapes where it's all "repeat after me.... I am a good person..... I am important..... I am somebody..."

“Rationality” as explained on the internetz. One has to understand the opportunity cost of such a view of both rationality and skepticism. No one is being skeptical of skepticism. No one is doubting their doubt. Thats foundational to the theory—if you take it seriously.
Postmodern type deconstruction that doesn’t realize its eaten itself. That is to say its self-contradictory.
The inability to see the limits of skepticism. Skeptics throughout the ages have been faulted for being academic and ivory tower. For instance, Harris’ suggesting life is deterministic, but living like free will (and presumably human dignity, justice, and rights) are real things. Thats a fundamental cognitive dissonance of the highest order.

The assumption that things one can’t see aren’t true, even though one can see and in fact daily rely on their existence is absurd.

The same logic applied to Gravity, Friction, or other forces would be thrown out and this assertion should be thrown out too.

Not to mention, materialism and physicalism fail to understand the human personality fully. Life is more than skin and bones. Life is more than biology, chemistry, and physics. Otherwise, libraries and bookstores would be half their size.

Anyone who thinks Descartes is the kind of skeptic that skepticism that exists on the internet. Descartes deconstructed and re-constructed. There isn’t much of an element of understanding the necessity of re-constructing so we can live our daily lives and survive. Descartes used skepticism precisely to push knowledge and civilization forward—I think therefore I am—helped the cause of pointing to identity rather than navel gazing and ivory tower. Descartes used skepticism to bring extreme forms of skepticism to bear. That is to say Descartes form of skepticism is exactly the opposite in orientation as internet skepticism or modern day skepticism.

If rationality was as reductive as internet skeptics proclaim, we would all be Ayn Rand. The thing is Aristotle viewed logic and rationality through a different lens. And it’s precisely this lens that is the foundation of the Western legal tradition. Reductive forms of logic lost. It not rationality, but reductive rationality, and thats a whole different ball of wax my friend.

The evidence for God is everywhere…you just have to pay attention.

Fatcels (those claiming to be on the inceldom spectrum due to obesity) are widely viewed as volcels in both the mancel incelosphere and the femcel one. This is because obesity is something you can change. A common interjection in the incelosphere is "fatcel = volcel". Notable fatcels include derrick (fatcel) and virgin messiah.

You can’t call yourself incelibate if you haven’t made an effort to exercise and thereby make yourself more appealing, or lost enough pounds to be at a healthy weight?. Fatcels are in fact hated by truecels. The main reason that fatcels are hated by truecels is because fatcels are actually Chadlite in disguise. Their disguise is the layer of fat, which if lost, removes the masquerade that they are in any way, shape or form associated with incelibacy. Fatcels undermine the plight of actual truecels who can‘t get laid no matter how much looksmaxxing they do. A real truecel can get muscular, shredded, fashionable, tanned and get a haircut but he would still face nonredamancy due to being a combination of mentalcel, uglycel, etc.

Fatcels self-describing as "incel" or "incelibate" or "truecel" causes harm and is actually a form of abuse against truecels who keep their weight in check. These abusive fatcels create the stereotype that permavirgin loveshies are actually voluntarily celibate because they‘re lazy pieces of shit who don‘t care about their hygiene. As such they give more ammo for the incelphobes or clueless noncels to continue with their chadsplaining platitude barrage. Actual blackpilled TFLers are irredeemable when it comes to success in dating, no matter what they do.

Quote# 142494

This is not surprising. IF they even go to church, the churches they go to don't even teach the Bible. They teach "the Gospel according to Communist PC". In short, you are not to offend the sinners and perverts but you are to show the sickening syrupy "Christian LOOOOOOOOVE". You aren't showing that love if you tell them they are hell-bound sinners. After all, they are "all God's children" and God loves them just the way they are. He made them that way and He won't condemn them. BAAAAAAARRRRRRRFFFFFF!

With that kind of brainwashing constantly being bombarded into their weak, dumbed down minds, it's no wonder they hate the thought of evangelizing - telling the sinner he's lost and going to hell. That's the most Christian loving thing to do IF you follow it up with telling them how to avoid it by getting saved. They need to be warned about hell all the moreso since time is short and they are all too soon going to face God and be sent to hell forever if they aren't told the true unvarnished Gospel and not this "Gospel of LOOOOOOOVE" crap that passes for the Gospel.

There are many sources of free Gospel tracts and presentation that you can get online and download and print out to distribute. One such site is www.hopetracts.org. OR if nothing else, you can download this presentation and e-mail it to people.

Quote# 142495

On the most somber of occasions, he sought to comfort the mourning. The cold casket adorned a chilled body as the eyes of family and friends, swollen from grief, gazed up at the speaker. He wanted to bring whatever consolation he could. And so, he did what many well-meaning pastors have done in his situation: he abandoned the truth.

Many can sympathize with the impulse to do so. The woman before him lived as worldly as they come, blaspheming God and his word whenever the opportunity presented itself. With all her friends and family gathered, it hardly felt like the appropriate time to tell them what God actually said. And so, the pastor proclaimed that — deep down — she was a good person and was with the Lord in heaven.

It was at that moment, when all sat pleased at the pastor’s words, that a young woman spoke up:

It’s a lie! Do not believe him! We will not all be in a better place! That hope is false! Only those who believe in Christ, the Son of God, the one who died and was raised, will be saved! Only those who repent and believe and follow him until the end will be in a better place. Wrath awaits all who die in sin! Please believe! He stands ready to forgive you!

People stared, aghast. A funeral usher approached to invite her to leave. One person furiously told her to shut the hell up — and so she was trying. Hell’s mouth gaped open. Souls were at stake. God’s truth was being butchered. She tried, alone, to warn her loved ones off the path to perdition.

My wife was at that funeral home a decade ago. She witnessed the minister’s sentimental words, saw the usher approach, and heard the crude language addressed to her. She was the young woman who, with trembling voice, offered all who would listen grace at the gates of hell.

[Responding to someone who claimed that racists are ignorant]

Your claim is that racists are ignorant people. They do not realize that all people are really the same, but you are not a racist because you realize that all people are the same. It seems that your position on racism is important to you, since you were so disgusted with the racists. But it turns out that your position cannot withstand the slightest scrutiny, and you really have no justification for it. You assume a position of knowledge and enlightenment, but you are just as ignorant as the racists.

You are careless. You are unintelligent. You are ignorant. You present yourself as someone who possesses knowledge, but you have not really thought through the things that you believe, even those things that are important to you. Thus you are also dishonest and hypocritical. You are usually able to get away with it because other people are also like you, and they agree with you. But now that I have exposed you, where are you going to run?

You are a non-Christian. What is your basis for denying God and Jesus Christ? You say that Christians are irrational, but have you thought through your own position? Or is it just as careless, foolish, and dishonest as your reason for affirming racial equality? You see, you think that you are intellectually competent, informed, and honest. But you are none of these things. You are stupid, ignorant, and dishonest. And your rejection of the Christian faith is also stupid, ignorant, and dishonest.

The Bible tells me that you know about the Christian God, and if we continue this conversation, I will show you more and more that this is the case. But you are too stupid and wicked to admit it. You are dishonest, so you try to suppress what you know. But God’s reality and precepts are so evident that you cannot consistently deny him. Perhaps your attitude toward racism is a distorted effect of this knowledge that is built into your very being.

You think I am harsh in speaking to you like this. But I am the best friend that you could have. Think about it: I can take apart everything that you believe in a matter of seconds, and this means that intellectually and spiritually, you are in a lot of trouble. Your whole life is a lie. And if you cannot even fool me, do you think that you can fool God? The Bible says that his wrath is poured out against people who suppress their knowledge about him – people like you. You are in a lot of danger right now. Your only hope is to abandon your pride, and admit your foolishness and wickedness, and call out to Jesus Christ — he is the only one who can save you. Let us discuss this further, for if God has mercy on you, this is what you will do.

Tripura Chief Minister Stands By Claim Of Internet In Mahabharat Era

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb had said that the epic Mahabharata indicated that ancient India had internet and satellite communications. Else Sanjay could not have been updating blind king Dhritarashtra about the battle in Kurukshetra while sitting at the palace in Hastinapur, Mr Deb argued.

New Delhi: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb -- who claimed that internet and satellite communications existed in India thousands of years ago -- stuck to his guns today, directing a barb at the "narrow minded people who find it tough to believe this". His reason was not facts accepted by scientific community about what took place several thousands of years ago, but that "Indians should consider their nation to be the greatest".

"Every Indian should have a common thinking that India is best and superior country all around the world," the Chief Minister said today. "My country had the technology years ago, which no country had. I am proud of that and I think every Indian should feel proud. I want to repeat that we should accept the truth and should not get confused". He, however, acknowledged that there were narrow minded people who "want to belittle their own nation and think highly of other countries".

At an event yesterday, Mr Deb declared that the epic Mahabharata indicated that ancient India had internet and satellite communications. Else Sanjay could not have been updating blind king Dhritarashtra about the battle in Kurukshetra while sitting at the palace in Hastinapur, Mr Deb argued.

While many right-wing thinkers earlier concluded that this was evidence of television technology, Mr Deb was convinced that it something even more advanced. "There was technology available at that time... internet was there, satellite communication was there... The Europeans and the Americans may claim that it is theirs, but it is actually our technology," Mr Deb said.

I had to laugh when I read the email from someone who couldn't imagine what a "leftist" education would be. Although I have since recovered, in my elementary, secondary, and most of my college educations, I was the victim of just such a scheme.

For example, in my junior high years, I was taught that the Palestinians were right and Zionism was racism. I was taught that abortion is a right, and "anti-choice" extremists were not only disagreeable, but both stupid and cruel. I was taught that animals are more important than people. In my math class, we once figured the cost of raising a child as opposed to the cost of having an abortion. Every year, when we had debates and individual presentations, the issues of gun control, abortion, prayer in schools, and Palestine were always among the most popular. There was no question which side of the argument would garner the better grade.

In college, I was trained in Marxism, Maoism, and feminism. I was taught a class on sexism, racism, classism and heterosexism in American life by an avowed Wiccan who wore a pentagram around her neck in class. I was taught political economy by a professor who carried a copy of Das Kapital everywhere he went and called it his "Bible." (Of course, none of my instructors would ever have carried a REAL Bible.)

At long last, God chased me down and changed my mind. I became a Christian just before beginning my PhD dissertation, after many years as a teacher's pet feminist secularist. Things...changed. My professors were terribly disappointed and lost all respect for me (though eventually they did pass my dissertation which was promptly academically published, despite treating pro-life activists as a legitimate political faction instead of a disease in the body politic).

On the way, however, there was no end to the insults to which I was subjected. For example, I asked my major professor for a letter of reference to apply to teach at a Christian college. He agreed, but told me I shouldn't need it. "A place like that," he said, "isn't looking for excellence." Really? Suppose I had received the same reply when asking for a reference for a historically black university? Would I have had grounds to sue? You betcha--and this professor would have been the first to say so. But in the rareified air of the academy, only one kind of prejudice doesn't have an odor to it.

Tom Knight: Hi dream queen. Thanks for not attacking like most do in their first few sentences, my friend. So many church denominations are so far away from Christ and the Truth of God's Word that it's difficult to find a church that actually preaches about sin and the realities of Heaven and Hell. Most are about competing with the church across the street and having huge memberships and making lots of money. You can see it in the extravagant lifestyle of some of the pastors of these churches. But I came up Catholic and would say I"m closer to possibly Baptist now. But whoever has a passion for the lost (those without Christ) and hurting that's who I agree with. These are all God's precious kids, including this lovely girl and her lovely mother (mum, as they say over there). I care immensely for them and that's why I don't sugar coat the truth. As tomorrow is not a guarantee for anybody. And if you end up in this place, you will never get out. You might not have had the opportunity of looking in the eyes of people who have had NDE's, I have. And what they described of Hell was not a bad dream or a hallucination. It forever changed their lives. And most will not talk about it. I'm one voice that can stand alone and strom the Gates of Hell because you are all worth having the right to know the truth. What people do with that eternal truth is their decision. All I know is that Jesus weeps because He doesn't want any of you to end up in that very real place of eternal suffering. But He will never come against your gift of a free will. So you have ot accept Him as an act of your will. I will attach a prayer here.
Pray this prayer:
Dear Lord God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I'm in need of a savior. Please forgive me, I'm sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross in my place paying the penalty for my sins. Right now I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior of my life and I accept You now Lord Jesus. Lord God, I believe in my heart that you raised Jesus from the dead. According to the Bible, I'm now saved, and Born Again. Show me how to live the rest of my life for you, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Mieke deM: Hi there! Let me start of by saying I'm born and raised Christian and I am a child of God. Then, how sad that you choose the word "fascinating" to describe the supposed work of Satan and then proceed to claim you care. Further more, how dare you speak for God by saying it's "too late for them" when His message is that it's NEVER too late to choose to follow Him. Lastly, God wants nothing more than for His children to be happy and thriving, who are you to say that they are living their lives wrong? Who are you to say they aren't children of God. Please, if you choose to represent Christians, then don't give us such an awful name as you just have. These people are brave in the face of adversity, they teach people to love themselves and live life fully. THAT is closer to teaching us the ways of the Lord than condemning people you don't even know to hell. Than judging. God teaches us not to judge, only He can judge, and yet here you are thinking you can do his job for Him. He teaches us to love, so spread the love He shows us, don't spread hate and use Christianity as an excuse to do it... I don't mean to be rude at all sir, but spreading love and the true word of the Lord is important, but shoving it down people's throats and claiming they're going to hell is not the right way....?

Today on the 700 Club, Pat Robertson told an elderly viewer who has been tithing since childhood that she wouldn’t have health issues, and therefore medical expenses, if she was tithing properly. The viewer said that she and her husband are “retired and living on a small pension and Social Security income” and “barely have any money” because of her husband’s medical expenses.

She asked Robertson if it would be “wrong to use [tithe] money towards medical expenses instead?”

Seeing that Robertson insisted that even people about to fall into bankruptcy must continue to tithe, we were not surprised that Robertson told the viewer no. In fact, Robertson went as far as to say that as long as she tithes she will stay healthy and as a result not even encounter medical bills.

Citing Malachi, Robertson said: “Your husband has all these medical problems because the ‘devour’ has not been rebuked. You need to rebuke him. You give your tithes faithfully and God said, ‘I will rebuke the devour,’ the person that is eating up your money and eating up your health. So you want to be healthy? That’s a promise in the Word.”

'Now observe that silent majority attempt to dictate their views as being the only moral one, never mind the immorality of forcing a woman to give birth against her will.'

Just happens that the vast majority of journalist and writers on this topic impose their pro choice views on anyone they can.

TRTL speaks of the 'immorality of forcing a woman to give birth against her will'

No mention of the immorality she has often committed and then tries to cover it up by murdering her a baby. On top of that the shame is suppose to be on the one who calls this wicked act of murder wrong. Unbelievable!

Ginny Bain Allen: Rosaria Butterfield has much Biblical wisdom on this significant topic. Her books I highly recommend.

mirele: Nope. Rosaria Butterfield should be avoided because she hides. She puts out essays and books, but she can't be publicly challenged on her anti-LGBTQ beliefs because she won't respond to comment. But she continues to be pushed forward as a role model for lesbians and others because she was once a liberal college professor and a lesbian. Hiding behind a website with no way to contact her and challenge her on her assumptions and beliefs is unhelpful at best.

Ginny Bain Allen: Following is an excellent excerpt from her book Openness Unhindered: Due to our fallen nature, we expect that we will be repenting of sin until glory. But repentance is not simply proof of failure. It is, more importantly, a sign of God’s hand upon us. It is a conversion proof, as only a saved person can repent of sin. Because of God’s righteousness, we honor His standards for holiness.

You know I just read all of the comments that were made toward Ron and the level of stupidity and ingorance totally perplexes me.

Every one keeps saying about how we discriminate against this group and that group. Time to set the record strait you idiots.

Lets start with gays since you are all so feminine and over sensative. When I was a scout there was a young man who was a homosexual and just for the record he was one of the best guys in the troop to talk to and hang out with.

Now lets talk about god. I don't know how many of you have ever had to write a date on a piece of paper or some other document but everytime you do you acknowledge the existance of god. After all we live in 2008 A.D. (For all you uneducated morons out there, A.D. stands for "After death." To make it a little more clear we are talking about the death of Jesus Christ.) Oh, and by the way, we have never turned anyone away who doesn't believe in god.

Now we are gonna talk about women.......... Once more to all of you uneducated loud mouth assholes out there we have a little thing in the Boy Scout organization called an Explorer Post. Now I'm gonna give you a chance to use your brains for the first time in a long time. Who do you think can join an Explorer Post............times up and I doubt you guessed that women can join the Explorer Post.

As for the separation of church and state....I'll bet not one of you god damned morons can show me anywhere in the Constitution of the United States where it says there is any kind of separation between church and state. Good luck dumb asses.

Now before you go shooting that hole under your nose that you stuff with GOD only knows what you might want to do a little bit of research. It's amazing how easy it is to put all you fucking idiots in your place with just a little bit of research.

Hindu nationalists claim that ancient Indians had airplanes, stem cell technology, and the internet
By Sanjay KumarFeb. 13, 2019 , 10:55 AM

New Delhi—The most widely discussed talk at the Indian Science Congress, a government-funded annual jamboree held in Jalandhar in January, wasn't about space exploration or information technology, areas in which India has made rapid progress. Instead, the talk celebrated a story in the Hindu epic Mahabharata about a woman who gave birth to 100 children, citing it as evidence that India's ancient Hindu civilization had developed advanced reproductive technologies. Just as surprising as the claim was the distinguished pedigree of the scientist who made it: chemist G. Nageshwar Rao, vice-chancellor of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam. "Stem cell research was done in this country thousands of years ago," Rao said.

His talk was widely met with ridicule. But Rao is hardly the only Indian scientist to make such claims. In recent years, "experts" have said ancient Indians had spacecraft, the internet, and nuclear weapons—long before Western science came on the scene.

Such claims and other forms of pseudoscience rooted in Hindu nationalism have been on the rise since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014. They're not just an embarrassment, some researchers say, but a threat to science and education that stifles critical thinking and could hamper India's development. "Modi has initiated what may be called ‘Project Assault on Scientific Rationality,’" says Gauhar Raza, former chief scientist at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) here, a conglomerate of almost 40 national labs. "A religio-mythical culture is being propagated in the country's scientific institutions aggressively."

Some blame the rapid rise at least in part on Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), the science wing of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), a massive conservative movement that aims to turn India into a Hindu nation and is the ideological parent of Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party. VIBHA aims to educate the masses about science and technology and harness research to stimulate India's development, but it also promotes "Swadeshi" (indigenous) science and tries to connect modern science to traditional knowledge and Hindu spirituality.

VIBHA receives generous government funding and is active in 23 of India's 29 states, organizing huge science fairs and other events; it has 20,000 so-called "team members" to spread its ideas and 100,000 volunteers—including many in the highest echelons of Indian science.

VIBHA's advisory board includes Vijay Kumar Saraswat, former head of Indian defense research and now chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University here. The former chairs of India's Space Commission and its Atomic Energy Commission are VIBHA "patrons." Structural biologist Shekhar Mande, director-general of CSIR, is VIBHA's vice president.

Saraswat—who says he firmly believes in the power of gemstones to influence wellbeing and destiny—is proud of the achievements of ancient Hindu science: "We should rediscover Indian systems which existed thousands of years back," he says. Mande shares that pride. "We are a race which is not inferior to any other race in the world," he says. "Great things have happened in this part of the world." Mande insists that VIBHA is not antiscientific, however: "We want to tell people you have to be rational in your life and not believe in irrational myths." He does not see a rise of pseudoscience in the past 4 years—"We have always had that"—and says part of the problem is that the press is now paying more attention to the occasional bizarre claim. "If journalists don't report it, actually that would be perfect," he says.

But others say there is little doubt that pseudoscience is on the rise—even at the highest levels of government. Modi, who was an RSS pracharak, or propagandist, for 12 years, claimed in 2014 that the transplantation of the elephant head of the god Ganesha to a human—a tale told in ancient epics—was a great achievement of Indian surgery millennia ago, and has made claims about stem cells similar to Rao's. At last year's Indian Science Congress, science minister Harsh Vardhan, a medical doctor and RSS member, said, incorrectly, that physicist Stephen Hawking had stated that the Vedas include theories superior to Albert Einstein's equation E=mc2. "It's one thing for a crackpot to say something like that, but it's a very bad example for people in authority to do so. It is deplorable," Venki Ramakrishnan, the Indian-born president of the Royal Society in London and a 2009 Nobel laureate in chemistry, tells Science. (Vardhan has declined to explain his statement so far and did not respond to an interview request from Science.)

Critics say pseudoscience is creeping into science funding and education. In 2017, Vardhan decided to fund research at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology here to validate claims that panchagavya, a concoction that includes cow urine and dung, is a remedy for a wide array of ailments—a notion many scientists dismiss. And in January 2018, higher education minister Satya Pal Singh dismissed Charles Darwin's evolution theory and threatened to remove it from school and college curricula. "Nobody, including our ancestors, in written or oral [texts], has said that they ever saw an ape turning into a human being," Singh said.

Those remarks triggered a storm of protest; in a rare display of unity, India's three premier science academies said removing evolution from school curricula, or diluting it with "non-scientific explanations or myths," would be "a retrograde step." In other instances, too, scientists are pushing back against the growing tide of pseudoscience. But doing so can be dangerous. In the past 5 years, four prominent fighters against superstition and pseudoscientific ideas and practices have been murdered, including Narendra Dabholkar, a physician, and M. M. Kalburgi, former vice-chancellor of Kannada University in Hampi. Ongoing police investigations have linked their killers to Hindu fundamentalist organizations.

Some Indian scientists may be susceptible to nonscientific beliefs because they view science as a 9-to-5 job, says Ashok Sahni, a renowned paleontologist and emeritus professor at Panjab University in Chandigarh. "Their religious beliefs don't dovetail with science," he says, and outside working hours those beliefs may hold sway. A tradition of deference to teachers and older persons may also play a role, he adds. "Freedom to question authority, to question writings, that's [an] intrinsic part of science," Ramakrishnan adds. Rather than focusing on the past, India should focus on its scientific future, he says—and drastically hike its research funding.

The grip of Hindu nationalism on Indian society is about to be tested. Two dozen opposition parties have joined forces against Modi for elections that will be held before the end of May. A loss by Modi would bring "some change," says Prabir Purkayastha, vice president of the All India People's Science Network in Madurai, a liberal science advocacy movement with some 400,000 members across the country that opposes VIBHA's ideology. But the tide of pseudoscience may not retreat quickly, he says. "I don't think this battle is going to die down soon, because institutions have been weakened and infected."

Quote# 142492

It's truly fascinating how far down into the sewer and gutter of depravity, indecency, and immorality that Satan has dragged the women of this nation (and obviously other nations also) In a nation that God has blessed beyond measure and this seems to be the way we thank Him. How sad. Parents no longer have a clue about how to bring their children up with the Fear of God. No maturity whatsoever. It's like babies having babies! Everything goes! It is a sick world now. It proves emphatically that Satan really is the father of lies and the original author of Confusion. God holds these parents accountable and responsible for how they raise their children that He gave them. Let's wake up mom's (or mum's) from your slumber and take some responsibility in the rearing of your children.

Jesus Christ loves you and He died on an old rugged cross for your sins. Hell is real my lovie-dovies! It is not a joke or a myth. It is a place where the fire is never quenched, the torment never ends, and the worm dies not. Tens of thousands find that out the hard way every single day that are dropping into Hell. Satan deceived them into fantasizing that they could live their lives any way they "dang-well-pleased", but, they quickly found out after the last breath departed from their body that God didn't feel the same way. And God takes no pleasure in people ending up in Hell. Only Jesus can save from the fires of Hell. It's sad that an Ex Playboy Military Pilot/ Airline Pilot has to lecture "girls" on how to actually grow up and become ladies! Here's a quick hint for you both. If you one day wake up and discover you are BI, as you say, your next step is to fall on your face before a Righteous God and ask Him to forgive you and to set you free from a Satanically inspired lifestyle! Any questions? I didn't think so!

Now I will leave you with a true story of a Hell experience that someone had that died and had an NDE. This person had never repented of their sins and accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, so after their last breath, they were dragged by demons to the fires of Hell. While in Hell they witnessed a mother and her two children that had been killed in a car accident weeks before. The mother was standing in the center and her two children on either side. All were being mutilated and were on fire with their skin flaking off. The two children were screaming in the mother's ears these words, "Why didn't you ever tell us about Jesus! Why didn't you ever take us to church! Why did you do this to us! We are here because of you!"

Apparently, the scene was extremely horrific to watch. It took this person years to even be able to talk about what they saw in Hell. To mock this is only to mock yourself. Let's wise up slumbering parents out there. You are accountable to God for eternity for your children.

That family's opportunity at Salvation is passed. It is a place that has no door out. That mother's selfishness and narcissism dragged her children to Hell with her. So they don't have an opportunity, you do. Please don't play games with your eternity.

Love in Christ?

I actually agree with the idea that welfare and charity are bad. But then again, I think that welfare and charity are part of the reason for human civilization's decline into decadence (along with most religion, for that matter), and in any case this assertion makes Hovind a bit of a hypocrite given the nature of his stated faith.

I plead with you whoever you may be to get saved before it's too late! If you sincerely doubt the Scriptures, why Oh why? Why I Believe the King James Bible is the Word Of God. The Bible openly acknowledges that not all men have faith in Jesus Christ. 2nd Thessalonians 3:1-2, “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.” Notice that “faith” is synonymous with being reasonable. We are living in crazy times, in which many people are filled with rage, bitterness and are not reasonable at all. Putting urinals in women's restrooms for transgendered men is UNREASONABLE!!!
