Quote# 927

What is the most obvious evidence for I[ntelligent]D[esign]? I would tend to go with Biblical accuracy, and the life of Jesus Christ as a couple major ones."

"I'm taking a Pseudoscience class right now, and the book was showing how the Biblical story about the Red Sea is entirely, "scientifically" possible. Scientists have shown how a sustained wind could literally part the sea in half, and make the sea floor dry."

"The timing of such an event at the Red Sea was PERFECT. PERFECT. If this Biblical story were true, wouldn't that almost certainly point to ID?"

"Even if the ToE were possible, wouldn't it require an even greater miracle for the right DNA mutations to occur at the right time? Wouldn't this once again be pointing to ID?

Quote# 928

Regardless of "evidence" or "proof" I will never change my faith. It isn't out of being stubborn, and it certainly isn't because I"m afraid to change. But I will never know my "religion" is wrong, because no matter what evidence is given, I don't just believe in God, i KNOW God. It isn't an inward conviction, its an outward relationship. Nothing can ever tell me that I and the millions of others are having a relationship with someone who does not exist. I don't just have faith in God anymore, He is an insurmoudable fact.

We, too, have come to know that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God. And there is this about Jesus: no one, believing on Him, can be snatched away. It is an imposibility ( see John 10:29 )."

[Quote: 'What evidence would it take to shake and possibly end your faith?']

For the Christian, this question has no meaning.

The bible itself is the signature of God...the book, though written by human hand, is inspired by God himself. The Holy Bible itself CLAIMS to be the word of God....Timothy 3:16 says 'All scriptures are inspired by God.'

Why do think they believed the earth was flat? Certainly some cultures did believe this but there is nothing in the Bible to make us believe that this was the case with the Hebrews.

Prove that the earth is not near the centre of the universe.

no matter what I will not leave Christianity. It sounds like a loaded qestion, but the assumption is true. No worldly evidence will ever convince me of something I have been fully convicted of from Someone outside the world itself. If I found proof that God didn't exist, I would merely wait for there to be a counter-argument, and if not it would do little to my faith.

I wouldn't necessarily say W.Y.R.I.S.W.Y.S.2 [another poster] is serving Christ. His language and intolerance is as bad as what mine used to be. Anyway, he was talking about becoming an atheist a while back... the most visible sign of an unsaved person.

I dont think music in itself is evil (like the early church monks used to think there where evil intervals like the tritone) but what is done with the music and the various bad messages (kill yourself, worship evil, womanize, etc...) it can contain. For instance before I came to really know Christ I listened to a lot of music that I dont listen to know, for example Nine Inch Nails. Im a huge fan of electronic music and I think Trent Reznor is a real genious. Unfortunately I just cant listen to his music anymore, because of songs like "Heresy" which goes, " God is dead and no one cares, if there is a hell i'll see you there". It brings me down.

Quote# 939

As Christians it should be very common for us to cast demons out of people. We know that demons can cause sickness and all sorts of problems. So I was wondering if you see anything when a demon comes out of someone?

What I see looks like a little puff of smoke. A lot like when we had the old cast iron steam heaters. When the system would build up to much steam and a little bit of vapor would come out of the excape valve to balance the system out again. "

"The last thing we ever want to do is get into a conversation with a demon. They are liars, there is no truth in them. Jesus told them to shut up and would not allow them to speak. It is not a dramatic event at all to cast a demon out. My pastor is a bit of a showman, but that is just so that those who are not saved can know that a demon or demons are being cast out of someone.

I have seen demons on very rare occasions. To me they appear as black shadows. If you've ever seen the movie 'Ghost' with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze (most of the movie is trash) the black shadows are almost exactly like the demons I've seen (and it was long before the movie ever came out so it didn't influence me in that regard).

Population growth is actually only a problem for evolutionists, not creationists. According to even conservative estimates, the world should have been way overpopulated by now if evolution were true. Evolutionists "solve" it with the speculation that our ancestors were hunter-gatherers for millions of years, and populations did not grow at all until after the advent of agriculture.

There are no such things as ghosts.
I'll not discount the possibility of demonic harrasment but if you're a Christian then you've nothing to fear from that. I'll also not discount the possibility of angels. Though that would leave you in more awe than fear.

By "ghosts" I assume you mean human spirits that wander the earth. They do not exist.

I'd demonstrate that your entire argument is false based upon children facing the consequences (but not the punishment) of their parent's actions even today.

I've never once met an atheist who experienced any of the gifts of the Spirit or the "rivers of living water" Jesus spoke of.
When I meet one, I'll know I've met an open minded person. I doubt I will. Only a fool would regress so.
