I see the entire concept behind halloween as being evil. It glorifies the demonic and evil and puts a "fun" twist on it. So it is subtly leading children to believe that demons, ghosts, Satan, are all for our amusement and not to be taken seriously. It leads them to evil ways of thinking. There is no Light in halloween, just darkness which is presented to children as light.
Same thing applies to tv shows like Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. Or Harry Potter.

That's why we don't participate in it. I went trick-or treating as a kid but I didn't know any better and in case anyone is wondering, no we didn't beat people up for not giving us candy or do bad things to their houses but that's beside the point. Halloween is Satanic. It's when people like to dress up like witches and ghosts and otherwise gross and scary things and play mean jokes on people whether they give them candy or not. I remember one year when I was a kid, someone smashed our pumpkins and we didn't even do anything to anybody. We were passing out candy just like everybody else and we still got our pumpkins smashed. Once my brother told me that when he was a teenager he ran up to a trick-or-treater and snatched the bag of candy right out of her hands and made her cry. The whole night is just mean spirited. I realize that not eveybody acts that way but just because some people are nice and dress up like Barney and kitties and other cute things on a mean-spirited Satanic holiday doesn't make it right.
