Quote# 2448

How can we (Christian's) in good conscience read, or participate in any way with something that the Bible makes clear is not acceptable by God. It's just for fun. It's just a fantasy. Well, fine.. then should I give my nephew a book of pornography? Wouldn't that be the same concept. Seeing as no sin is greater than another, and so therefore magic and lust are just as detestable? I don't understand this double standard Christian's seem to have. If it's fun and not hurting anyone, it's okay. Even if it's a sin.

Quote# 2450

both movies present wizards, sorcery and evil magic and both titillate the skyrocketing popularity of mystical occult in movies in the shadow of the attack on Christianity, feeding on it and nurturing it at the same time. Both movies use evil as good: "white magic" to fight dark and evil occult forces. Both present fine personal qualities in characters with heroic missions to defeat evil. And both present the use of evil, namely witchcraft and sorcery, as a tool for good. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is targeted at the preteen and the early teen and thus boasts a less complicated story. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is much more sophisticated and requires deeper thought to fathom its story, thus making the older teen and young adult its target audience. The Christian faith is being hit at all impressionable ages, folks. And there is more coming.

The bottom line is that God clearly commands that witchcraft, sorcery and wizardry are evil. He gives no situations under which these evils are not evil: no conditions under which these evils may be tolerated. There is no such thing as a "good" witch. Not even Wendy.

The auther ment well with this movie I believe but he used bad characters. If you want to show people Christ we need to do it like Jesus did. Jesus never mad up stories to get people to follow him.

Quote# 2457

This mixing of paganism and Christianity from Mainline and Conservative Christian leaders is leading the christian community directly into the global, ecumenical religion of Antichrist and his False Prophet. The very fact we are seeing this unbelievable mixing of paganism with Christianity is a solid sign we are truly at the End of the Age and Antichrist is close.

You didn't expect me to be 'sexist' and reply in a different manner to your silly attack because you're female (and likely blonde) did you? And under your evolutionary system, why not be sexist? Darwin and most of his evolutionary contemporaries were very sexist. Conversely, the Biblical Christianity is the only philosophy that has provided true liberation for women, but you come here to attack it.

David Blaine.. the guy who levitates on street corners and resurrects dead animals. No, I'm not trying to 'pin the tail on the A.C.' But the Bible did caution that there would be 'many' anti-Christs in the end days.. and I have seen interviews in which he pointedly compares himself to Jesus..... Freaky stuff, if you ask me.

Quote# 2471

Thats just the point of prophecy - that prophecy was made long before Jesus was born. Unless he was God, and knew everything - how would he have known to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey in order to fulfill a prophecy? This isn't like a 500 year old prophet walking up to some guy and saying - i predict you will ride into jerusalem on a donkey, some guy says - ok ill do that - i must be the Messiah! Only if Jesus was God and the true messiah could he have known that prophecy 500 years after the fact.
