why does gay marriage offend u and ur religion? its against mine and i dont take kindly to 2 homos stealing the sacred bond between a man and a women and pretty much raping the term of a marriage and getting married in a church which should completly oppose the idea of gay marriage much less allow the act.

Quote# 19540

Jesus, Himself, was in one sense homeless. However, he was not a drunkard who choose not to work. This is the state of most (the vast majority) of the homeless we see on our streets today. They have chosen to serve alcohol and drugs. They have chosen to live a life on the street. They have chosen to not work. Want proof? The next time you see someone with a sign that says "Will work for food," offer them a job. See what they say! Will they work? NO!

[Later in the same post]
I will add: I will almost guarantee that you will not find someone who is a saved person, living for God, who is homeless. He has promised to take care of His own!

Quote# 19541

I’ll tell you why evolutionism is so widely accepted - indeed, why it caught on so quickly when Darwin first published his Origins. It is because it gives human beings an excuse to do away with the Creator. And if there is no God, then nobody made us; there is no one with the authority to tell us how we should live our lives and run the planet. We can decide truth for ourselves. We can decide what is right and wrong. We can live a God-free life in a God-free society, indulging our lusts to our heart’s content with no restraints! Yippeee!

(After a rant from Romans1:16)

Paul goes on to list the evils that ensue when men and women reject God as Creator: sexual perversions, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behaviour and gossip. People become back-stabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud and boastful … forever inventing new ways of sinning .. disobedient to their parents, unforgiving etc.

And if people back then had no excuse for failing to acknowledge God as Creator, they have even less now, given that, thanks to telescopes, microscopes and deep-sea submersibles, we know far more about the wonders of creation than they did.

Want to know why the world's in a mess? Maybe it has something to do with mankind's refusal to acknowledge God as Creator and obey his laws.

I anticipate that this entry will cause another tirade of abuse to burst forth. Whatever, I have decided that it will probably be my last, at least for the time being, as I really can’t spare any more time. If I have made a mistake at all, it is the mistake of playing into the hands of folks who get warped pleasure from flinging personal insults at those who hold a different view of our origins from their own. Jesus said something once about not throwing one’s pearls before swine. (No, I’m not calling anyone a pig; it’s a figure of speech, OK?)

No doubt someone will also claim, triumphantly, that I am going away with my 'tail between my legs' because my arguments have been trounced. Wrong! My head is held high, and I rejoice in knowing that there is not one single scientific fact that contradicts the Bible.

God bless you all

yup soft bodies species can'rt usually be fossilized- hover the millions of supposedly evolving har bodied species could- even Darwin himself said his theory was wrong due to lack of transitional species- AND we've since learned- as I said previously- it is biologically impossible- there HAS to be gene transference in order for the necessary NEW information needed for evolution to happen to change a species outside of it's own kind.

No sorry- I aint no eukoroyte- The gene information that I have is unique to my species- not to eukoroyte species.

Symbiosis is not evolution- it is a parasite existing entirely off another- they are both unique species- they do not together become an entirely different species.

Trust me- I've looked into this- it's too late tonight- but it has been proven to be false in regards to evolution and has been dropped by science when it was exposed as symbiotic- they tried to pass it off as evolution- but the facts did not support that at all, and htey had to admit that- you won't find much on this however, when it was pressed- the truth was begrudgingly admitted and pretty much not reported on much- but the reports are out there

no reason too? Then you must be unaware of all the archeology and geographical evidence supporting events all through the bible- there's some pretty darn compelling reason to beleive aside from faith- Not to mention thousands of eye witnesses that back up Christ's life and death and rising etc. No compelling reason to beleive? sure there is. There's plenty of acheological evidence

Quote# 19545

that's a load of doo- dating methods rely on preconceived notions and throw out ALL the counter evidences that do not fit in their specified timelines- it's NOTHING but interpretations and faith and discounts anythign that might suggest otherwise- there are plenty of cases that show items buried in supposedly million year old strata that just do not correspond with the preconceived timelines- daters both have to have faith in their timelines (because there are NO known or testable factos with which to date by) and faith that irreconciable unknowns are not proofs against hteir preconceived timelines.

Science goes on KNOWNS- and Testable factors- NOT on unknowns- yet dating requires FAITH in interpratations that can't be backed up with KNOWNS

You present dates as 'verifiable' and that is not fact- different interpratations discount this suppsoed 'verifiable' factor right off the bat- and you are STILL dealing with guesses and putting FAITH in the fact that that unknown actions didn't happen to throw off your preconceived notions of how old the earth should be- Catastrophic events have PROVEN the fallicy of old held beliefs and these have proven them precisely because KNOWN elements were both observed and tested as they were recorded- you can't say that of anything beyond approximately 6000 or so years ago- there were NO records- so it all falls to interpretation-

I just know you aren't going to vigorously ddefend interpretation, right? We've all seen how reliable interpretations that turn into dogma can be- especially when they are disporvoien

[Referring to the Discovery Institute's Pledge Of Faith for its "scientists"]

{"How can one trust a 'scientist' that takes this pledge and is paid for his 'research'."}

You certainly can't provided you discout the science based simply on the fact that they are Christian and take a pledge stating that history has factually documented the biblical facts- as has archeology- not sure what that has to do with science facts- but meh- Their science is based on the very same facts that secular science is- peer reviews prove this out- you can dismiss it if you like- but Christian science has very valid evidences that secular science takes seriously- Why? Because idt's factually based on absolutes that secular science HAS to attend to in order to be valid- just as the Christian scientists HAVE to attend to factual evidences presented by secular sciences. You may not take it seriously, but thankfully- secular scientists do, and can argue facts free from the shackles of bias- As I said before- when Your calculator adds 2 and 2 and comes up with 5- and a person beleives it blindly, then they are no longer an objective person- the opposing side presents facts that show 2 and 2 are 4

[poll: should women go to college?"

No, I do not believe that all women should attend college. Society has made us all to think that everyone should attend college. I do not believe this to be true. So many independent baptist churches push college on us. They have made us think that we will not "be something" unless we go to college. No longer are we thinking about God' will for our lives, but only what other people are telling us.

I believe that a girl should not leave home at 17 or 18. A girl should be under her father's authority and household until she is married. In the wedding ceremony, there is a reason that the father gives the bride away. He is giving her to her future husband.

As I have stated in my other posts, this all goes back to the feminist movement. Women thought that they were no different than men, they wanted to act, like, and talk like them. Women went to work, and the children were left at school.

[Kerwin commenting on the Global Warming "myth"]

I believe in both God and Satan and either of these individuals have the ability to manufacture evidence for their own reasons. Satan will do it because he is a deceiver and God will do it to test the hearts of each and everyone of us. Both of them are far more intelligent than I am and could trick me easily therefore I consider any story of the past to be fiction. I am a lot more confident of recent history and I know the arguments historian have over that.

Clayton Police believe John Violette fled to Washington, D.C., after killing his daughter at their Clayton home Friday. Authorities will travel to the nation's capital Wednesday to pick him up and return him to Johnston County.

U.S. Marshals said Violette quoted the bible and screamed uncontrollably when they arrested him. The 37-year-old Clayton resident is charged with the slaying of his 4-year-old daughter, Katlin.

Violette's wife found the couple's daughter. Authorities said the child's head had been severed from her body.

Not just CF but the religious and political sites on the net have made me understand those opposed to Christian morality and who mock Christian virtues are more militant, more intolerant, more impervious to rational argument and more numerous than I had suspected. Knew the mindset was out there--I grew up with it--but didn't realize opposing the faith consumes so many lives.

AIDS does not behave like an infectious disease...
...essentially nonexistent in teenagers
... essentially nonexistent in female prostitutes not using drugs
... essentially nonexistent in wives of male hemophiliacs
... cannot be produced in laboratory animals
... predominantly affects males in USA and Europe... no other infectious disease discriminates based on gender.
... requires 10 to 20 years after "exposure" to produce disease.

All of the above indicators point to a lifestyle disease, NOT an infectious disease.

That is why I have such high standards... When Teens allow themselves to be alone with someone of the opposite gender...that only gives room for temptation and you never know..that preacher boy/Godly girl you always shake hands with or give high fives to...they maybe the one God has you to marry..I dont shake hands or even high five preacher boys because ..that might just be the one I'm to marry one day and on my wedding day...I REALLY want that to be the first time we EVER touch.. AT ALL. Setting high standards is the best way to truly abstain from ALL appearances of evil.

IM is for women
And maybe teenagers too. Instant Messaging is a technology designed to facilitate and encourage communication in a very female style:

- constant ["r u there??", "brb"]
- gossipy ["did you see *her*??"]
- approval-seeking ["LOL!!"]).

I'm sure some people use IM for useful purposes, and I'm sure you can use it without taking on too many characteristics of a talkative 13 year old girl. But I've just decided to turn it off, at work and at home. I did this at the same time I decided to start turning off my cell phone at work. When I want to talk to a coworker, I get up and walk 10 feet to their cubicle, or I send an old-school email.

This is kind of a trial at work, because IM is very popular. If I do go back to using it, I'm going to keep it strictly professional, and keep personal stuff for face to face.

Part of why I posted this here is I remember Dr. Glover writing/saying somewhere that men should use the telephone to make plans, not for long conversations (with women). I had to think about that for a while before I agreed with it, and have extended that idea to IM.

[Two fundies for the price of one!]

Disciple: Last night we had a pizza party at the pastor's house, and a lot of us gathered in the fixed-up basement to play Dance Dance Revolution on the pastor's big screen, flat panel TV. But somehow things starting getting really out of hand and really sexual. I'm glad my youth pastor came downstairs to check on us teens when he did, because the direction it was heading in was starting to concern me a lot. But everyone acted like perfect Christians as soon as they saw the youth pastor! It's amazing how quickly the sight of the pastor can change everyone's behavor from R-rated to G-rated! Glad he got there before it turned into X-rated, which it was just starting to turn into before he showed up!

Mrs. Kellie: This is so sad Disciple.....Sad that a pastor and youth pastor would allow such an activity. Pastors and youth pastors should be encouraging teens to be spiritually minded, and showing them that you can have fun, and do right at the same time. That game is full of ungodly music, and encourages people to show off their bodies in a lustful way, that is like lighting a match in a room filled with gas. I would guess from what you have said about their actions that most of the teens in your youth group are not Christian...sadly they are just playing the part.

Quote# 19526

One day, Bob, an ordinary 40-year-old accountant who lives in an average house in an average neighborhood, woke up after an eventful weekend on Monday morning to go to work. He got out of bed at 7:30, as usual, showered, shaved, and donned a business suit, as usual, and ate a bowl of Frosted Flakes, as usual. When he went out to his garage, though, something was very different. A brand-new Rolls-Royce was sitting next to his Civic where there was nothing last night! He was stunned as he opened the door and noticed the keys were in the ignition but decided to drive it to work that day, nonetheless.

Do you believe this story?

How about this one:

One day, Jim, a worker in a printing factory, was on lunch-break at Arby's eating a Triple-Cheese-and-Bacon sandwich when he heard a loud thundering noise. A few blocks away, the factory he worked in randomly exploded! He immediately ran back to see if everyone was okay. Fortunately nobody was hurt. However, they noticed in the wreckage there were all 24 volumes of the Encyclopedia Brittannica all in perfect order!

Do you believe this story?

Well, maybe you'll believe this one:

An artist was working hard on a painting. Or, at least, he was planning to; he hadn't started yet! He got a fresh piece of canvas and acquired all the different colored oils he would need to finish his masterpiece. He left the room to talk to his boss for a little while. When he came back, he noticed that a perfect replica of the Mona Lisa was painted on the canvas! He concluded that the oils randomly came together to produce the image that became one of DaVinci's most well-known paintings.

Is he crazy?

If you are a normal, intelligent, sane person, you can conclude that all three of these stories are fairy tales. Why is it, then, that you believe that all the matter in the universe came from nothing, was compacted into an extremely hot, dot-sized region, exploded with tremendous force via energy that came from nowhere? Then the earth cooled down, an atmosphere was created and it rained for millions of years to create vast oceans containing dissolved rocks which contained the basic building blocks of life known as "amino acids". That "primordial soup" then slowly evolved into fish, those fish evolved into amphibians, those amphibians evolved into reptiles, those reptiles evolved into mammals and birds, those mammals then evolved into humans.

Scientific fact? I don't think so! It's a proven fact that life cannot arise from non-life. It's a proven fact that matter cannot be created out of nothing by sheer chance. It's a proven fact that there are NO vestigial structures in any animals; evey organ serves some purpose and it's all designed to work perfectly with other systems.

So, is evolution a scientific fact? Absolutely NOT! It's an anti-scientific religion and nothing more!
