I don't know if I can rejoice in his unending, eternal, torment...but if God can rejoice in the suffering of the damned and in fact be glorified by it then shouldn't I be able to, as a reflection of Him, eventually, be able to rejoice in the damnation of the lost? including family...friends...and enemies?

In your America we should be *free* to indulge in sinful homosexual acts while criminalizing those who so dare to use "hate speech" (such as acknowledging the act as being sinful)... YET, we are not *free* to smoke a cigarette or eat "junk food" without being discriminated against by liberals who believe they can just "sin tax" what they deem worthy of the label.

Think of the money that could be generated by imposing sin taxes on homosexuals????!!!?? Damn, we could actually repeal the federal gas tax!

What the hell???

How exactly do libs get away with discriminating against those who indulge in acts that they deem "sinful" by imposing so-called "sin taxes" on them?? WHO made them judge and jury? And more importantly, why not impose sin taxes on homosexuals too?

If you want to justify sin taxes on junk food and cigarettes due to health care costs... be sure to calculate how much money has been spent on STDs, AIDS/HIV, etc., by the tax payers.

The director of a Christian boot camp and an employee were arrested Friday for allegedly dragging a 15-year-old girl behind a van after she fell behind the group during a morning run, authorities said.

Charles Eugene Flowers and Stephanie Bassitt of San Antonio-based Love Demonstrated Ministries, a 32-day boot camp, were arrested on aggravated assault charges for the alleged June 12 incident.

The two are accused of tying the girl to the van with a rope then dragging her, according to an arrest affidavit filed Wednesday by the Nueces County Sheriff's Department.

Both remained in Nueces County Jail late Friday on $100,000 bond each.

A call to Love Demonstrated Ministries was not immediately returned Friday. No listing was found for Bassitt. An answering machine at a listing for Flowers cut off during an attempt to leave a message Friday.

Flowers, the camp's director, allegedly ordered Bassitt to run alongside the girl after she fell behind, the affidavit said. When the girl stopped running, Bassitt allegedly yelled at her and pinned her to the ground while Flowers tied the rope to her, according to the affidavit.

The girl's mother gave investigators photos of her daughter's injuries that were taken at a hospital where the girl was treated and a sworn statement from a witness who claimed to see the girl being dragged on her stomach at least three times.

As a Christian, I think it's time to rid ourselves of this notion of freedom of religion in America.

Now that I have your attention, let me take a moment to make my case. Freedom of religion has become the biggest hoax placed upon the Christian people and on our Christian nation.

When reading the writings of our Founding Founders, there was never any reference to freedom of religion referring to a choice between Islam, Hindu, Satanism, Wicca and whatever other religions or cults you would like to dream up. It was very clear that freedom to worship meant the freedom to worship the God of the Bible in the way you wanted, and not to have a government church denomination dictate how you would worship.

Christianity, by its own definition, does not allow freedom of religion. A Christian is defined as a follower of Jesus Christ.

[what action or belief would it take for your child to do to make you feel like you'd truly failed as a parent?]

I'd feel that I'd failed if she (or any future children) turned out to be a murder, rapist, child abuser/molestor, non-christian or was just one of those people that everyone hates because they are so rude and judgemental.

I agree with Congressman Sali. Having a Muslim in office and a Hindu open Senate prayer shows just how far the people of America have fallen from the priciples of God's Word. Freedom of religion was to be able to worship the true God of heaven without the interference of government telling us how to. It was so we could worship the ONE true God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, and not the god of Ishmael, as Islam holds to, or one of the many gods of the Hindus. Yes, we are in the end times and the fight is between light and darkness, right and wrong, God and the devil. Those who choose God are on the winning side and will have the ultimate victory! Praise God!

[After stating that being Catholic "does not make one less Christian."]
(Emphasis not in original post.)

What I meant with the Martin Luther example was that surely, one should be judged on their moral character, and not their uninformed (and since we have no original copies, anyone is uninformed) views on certain books. I'm sure we can agree that Martin Luther, who was for all intensive purposes one of the first Nazi's, was no more of a christian that John Paul II.

Furthermore, in response to previous attempts at defending an "it's cultural" viewpoint, here is my take on the slavery is abolished so women's submission is likewise able to be abolished in our current culture: just because we have abolished slavery, does not mean it was wrong. The atrocity of slavery was the cruelty of the masters toward their slaves. The Bible does not condemn slavery, nor women's inequality, it does however clarify the importance of a master being just and kind. The same is found for women, the Bible clearly commands men to love their wives and it dictates that they are the head of their wives, where as women are told to be submissive and quiet. It isn't an association with the cultural views of that time to follow these Biblical ideas, it is cultural, however, to downplay the role of the Bible in everyday life as well as to make theology and Biblical principles out of pagan tradition. I choose to not follow cultic ideas found in culture, and take truth straight from scripture.

Quote# 28146

This past spring I was expelled from my high school. Why? Because I'm a Christian. There was a girl in my class who was wiccan, and I didn't want demons to possess me or anyone else and save her from satan. So, I told her that her faith was evil and told her to accept Jesus as Savior and she would be saved. Simple as that. Just say the sinners prayer and you can be saved!

Well I got sent to the principal for that. She said I was 'discriminating' against her religion. I was only doing what the Bible, God, Jesus and my pastor said! How is that wrong!?

Well, afterwards I was forced to aplologize, even though it's a sin to, so I never meant what I said. So, instead I put a copy of a Jack Chick tract in her locker about how wicca and a paganism lead to murder, rape and other horrible things because it lets the devil get inside of you. I also left a little note about how she was going to hell. I was hoping she would see the error of her ways and repent from the evil, disgusting 'religion'.

Instead I was called down to the principal again and this time there were two police officers there. And they said I was under arrest for harrasing this girl and threatening her! What did I do? I just wanted her to accept Jesus and be saved! Now her family (all evil, stupid, disgusting god hating wiccans) want to sue me for discrimination and creating a hostile workplace! How is that fair? She's the one who's discriminating against me because I'm one with the LORD!

Jesus is the only way to salvation! It's that simple people! No pope, wicca, or anything stupid like that! JESUS ONLY! Why is is wrong to tell others that? It's all the fault of the ACLU and simlar atheist organizations trying to destroy us Christians. Next they'll want to genocide us for doing our Godly work.

Tolerance comes right out of hell. Christians are followers of Christ. Christ was not tollerant, he was forgiving, loving, kind and a bunch of other things like that. But not tolerant.
To be tolerant one would need to be self focused, it's not hurting me so why care. Christians are others focused, like Jesus. Jesus was not tolerant of sin, he died to take it away as a barrier between man and God.
That's not tolerance, that's intolerance.

Quote# 28102

Here we go, rock hard evidence that God is real: the fact that when people cuss they a lot of the time use God or Jesus’ name. If God were imaginary atheists wouldn’t cry out His name when they stub their toe.

When someone slams a hammer into their thumb they never say, “Harry ‘h’ Krishna, that hurt” “Mohammad damn it”. And sometimes they cuss with Jesus’ name when they aren’t hurt.

If, in fact, God wasn’t real people wouldn’t curse His name every few minutes.

Further evidence that God is real is the fact that there are some many people trying to prove that He is imaginary. Not only our own little friend on here but throughout the Internet. You almost never see anyone trying to disprove Buddha or one of the 300,000,000 gods of India.

If, in fact, Jehovah wasn’t real there wouldn’t be any one trying to disprove Him.

[light from stars millions of light years away proves the bible wrong i.e the world is older than 10,000 years]

Light year is a measure of distance and not an "abolute" measurement of time and in now way proves the Bible wrong. The best cosmology based upon Einstein physics actually shows the universe to be very young (less than 10,000 years).
The preponderece of scientific evidence understood in the most straight forward (obvious) way fits much better into a young universe model.

Dawkins big bang theory is laughable...imagine being in the local having a pint with friends when one of them says, 'Hey, I've discovered the origin of the universe. It started with a big bang which developed all the material in the universe in an instant. In one billionenth of a second there was nothing and then there was everything.' I don't know about you but I would say, 'Yeah, right, is it my round?' But when someone with the 'pedigree' of Dawkins says it the world gasps and accepts this crazy theory as being right. Common sense tells us that to cause an explosion there needs to be at least three constituents, the explosive material and a match to light the fuse so my question to Dawkins is who was holding the match?

evilelvi1, I think you just agreed with really my main point from the beginning... that atheism is a belief system in something that is equally far-fetched as belief in God. To a lot of atheists, it is not a belief system. They have simply discarded God and believe in evolution because they have to. (Without God, evolution MUST be true. How else can the world be explained?)

I don't know everything, and the dinosaur thing is a good example of something I can't explain. Sometimes I wonder why the God I believe in would put us in a world where there are alternative equally-viable theories to our existence. But then it hit me one day that without them, we couldn't truly have free will. If scientific method led us to God and nothing else, well there would be no faith, no free will. We would pretty much HAVE to believe in God. At that point it is no longer belief, but proof.

A few months ago I felt led to put together a "post rapture file" for my unsaved loved ones which is on my computer. My daughter knows that if she doesn't come to Christ before we go that she is to get this file and share it with everyone. I'm working on a list of names and contact info to put in the file. Anyway, today I just felt very strongly that not only should I remind her of it, but to witness to her for the 1000th time and give her complete instructions on what to do as soon as we are gone. I even went so far as to tell her as soon as we are gone that she is to go to a house that belongs to a friend since he will be gone too. It is WAY off the grid. I'm going to talk to him about it tomorrow and get directions. He loves Tiffany like his own granddaughter so I know it will be fine since all of his loved ones are going too.

I gave her the pin # to my atm and credit cards. I told her to make sure that she plants as big a garden as she can and learn to can food. Not to worry about the kids because they will be with Nana. I'm putting instructions in the file about how to start the generator, where her Daddy's guns are and how to load them, where the spare car and truck keys are, etc., etc., etc.

On the same day that the Hindu abomination occurred in our Senate chamber, the 13th day of July 2007, the U.S. State Department Headquarters was attacked by what the Associated Press called killer wasps. These killer wasps are two inches long, and thousands of them have chosen to nest in the State Department building in Washington, D.C. It is being called a total infestation! I immediately thought of Exodus 23:28, which reads as follows: "And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite , from before thee." I must note at this point, that the three nations mentioned in this verse worshipped the gods of earth, wind, and fire, just as the Hindus do. This wasp infestation that occurred on the same day at the headquarters of the powerful State Department is a clear sign from the Almighty of judgment forthcoming. Where are the Christian ministers who should be sounding the alarm?"

We prayed during our family devotions. Talitha (11 years old) and Noel and I prayed earnestly for the families affected by the calamity and for the others in our city. Talitha prayed “Please don’t let anyone blame God for this but give thanks that they were saved.” When I sat on her bed and tucked her in and blessed her and sang over her a few minutes ago, I said, “You know, Talitha, that was a good prayer, because when people ‘blame’ God for something, they are angry with him, and they are saying that he has done something wrong. That’s what “blame” means: accuse somebody of wrongdoing. But you and I know that God did not do anything wrong. God always does what is wise. And you and I know that God could have held up that bridge with one hand.” Talitha said, “With his pinky.” “Yes,” I said, “with his pinky. Which means that God had a purpose for not holding up that bridge, knowing all that would happen, and he is infinitely wise in all that he wills.”

Talitha said, “Maybe he let it fall because he wanted all the people of Minneapolis to fear him.” “Yes, Talitha,” I said, “I am sure that is one of the reasons God let the bridge fall.”
