[If religion didn't exist would homosexuality be wrong]

This is kind of like the "if a tree falls in a forest and if there's no one to hear it, does it make a sound" question. There's no way morality couldn't exist. Same with religion. If religion was a myth, then why have people been practicing it for 2,000 years? A myth has never lasted for that long.
It isn't a sin to be gay, but acting upon it is wrong. Putting your fantasies into action is the sin.

Editor, Daily News:

How satisfying it was to see Christians unite and successfully use the democratic process to bring the state constitutions of Florida and California into line with biblical scripture.

Such heroic action has stopped, for now, the steadily creeping infringement of homosexuality on the institution of marriage. Hopefully, this success will embolden Christians to organize to stop two even more significant threats to marriage. Those threats are divorce and adultery.

In keeping with biblical scripture, state constitutions need to be amended now to prohibit divorce and to establish penalties for adultery. Law-enforcement agencies need the authorization to identify and arrest adulterers. Protection of the institution of marriage demands nothing less.

Onward, Christian soldiers. Beware, fornicators, gamblers, card players and dancers. You are next.

[In response to the recent protests against anti-same sex marriage amendments.]

Crazy stuff in the news right now (at least on FOX) covering all the gays protesting the failure to shove their agenda down our throats!

They sure are a colorful bunch...some boys look very pretty in colorful dresses....out there in the street in full regalia hurtling insults at the common folk.

Maybe some of the more sophisticated and styleconcious one's are reserving their little black dress (every girl shoud have one) for evening protests.

This is just plain ugy.

Tolerance, it turns out, is a ONE-WAY street.

Married couples with kids used to be mocked as "breeders" by the homosexual community.

So why this passionate desire among gays to "tie the knot" complete with traditional church wedding, rings, licenses, and children? Because Satan attempts to counterfeit every single thing God holds dear.

And you know what's really sad? Gay couples can never escape the fact they are doing a pathetic imitation of God-ordained male and female roles within their own relationships.

Quote# 53202

[Arguing that the book, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” is anti-Christian]

Albom's bestseller presents a new and creative vision of heaven. I agree with Albom that there is a heaven and an existence beyond the grave. However, it appears that Albom implies that everyone will go to heaven, and with this I disagree.

Albom portrays realistic characters in his story, none of whom lived a perfect life. All are guilty of some sin and negative behaviors that have consequences, some greater than others. There is some remorse when individuals in heaven learn how their actions caused negative results, but there is not a just payment for their sin.

Albom appears to assume that everyone will eventually find peace when they learn their lessons from the five people they meet. Although this is a comforting note, it is not what the Bible teaches. Albom's story doesn't reveal the dilemma facing all human beings: sin, failing to perfectly live up to God's perfect standard. It is because of sin that the Bible teaches that not everyone can enter heaven. Jesus states in Matthew 7:13, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

The reason is found in the biblical understanding of human nature and God's nature. Man is sinful while God is holy, perfect, and without sin. The Bible teaches that all are guilty of sin and cannot enter into the eternal presence of a holy and just God.

Quote# 53106

America has forgotten the God of the Bible. In the 1960's we forgot God by removing prayer and the Bible from our schools. In the 1970's we forgot God by legalizing abortion in our hospitals. In the 1980's we forgot God by removing the Bible from our churches and replacing It with the corrupted New International Version (NIV) that removes the name above every other name, Jesus, in 38 places!!! In the 1990's America forgot God by introducing the vile "Gay Agenda" into society. And now in the new millennium we are facing the reality of legalized same-sex marriages and America just voted for a Communist U.S. president. Woe unto America!

To add insult to injury, on November 12, 2008 it was announced in the news that a humanist group is paying to have advertisements placed on public buses in the Washington D.C. area that read... "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake" (actual bus ad is pictured in photo to right). The signs will run from the middle of November throughout December... That is so evil and sad. We read in Daniel 5:23, “...the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified.” It is a sad day in America, and clear evidence of the apostasy, when its citizens tolerate such messages in public, being taunted in our faces to provoke us. It is a shame!
This ad is incredibly insulting! Do you think you could get away with saying something like, “Why believe in Evolution?” Absolutely not! So why is it ok to attack Christian beliefs at one of the most important holidays for us? I think it is a despicable show of character on the part of the advertisers and the public transportation company which allowed this filth. It is also a horrible reflection on the mayor and leaders of Washington D.C.

Quote# 52751

I had the same rapture dream for a few years about 2-3 times a year. I was just a young child in the dream though, and back on the street where I grew up. I did though actually hear the voices in an angelic choir coming from above where the clouds were parting. NOT what I thought it would sound like. Just bizarre musical scales coming from a million voices. (This was confirmed by many who've heard the same thing whether in visions, dreams or while conscious.) I was running down the street looking up screaming He's coming, He's coming! I was in an utter panic trying to reach my house before it was too late, I was thinking of my family and how was I going to reach them before ZAP.

Every time, I never do. I'm just about at the front door and the dream ends.

I was so frightened in that dream that played over and over again over the course of time, I could practically dictate the way it would occur while I was asleep.

Now was this from God? I don't know. I don't see why it would be. I don't see why it would be from Satan either. Perhaps it's many ideas and worries within my self-conscious that blended with my faith and it came out while I was asleep where we're vulnerable to suggestion and over active brain activity.

Funny thing is the dreams ceased once I found out my childhood home was torn down and another one built in it's place.

Our brains are a real mystery aren't they?

Why do we all grow old and die instead of getting better and better as secular evolutionists suggest has taken place for millions of years?

Our lives are only extended by a precious few years because of so-called scientific breakthroughs...

Yet the very essence of evolution theory is contradicted by our certain mortality...

This makes the promise of heaven and salvation all the more real and attractive...

Posted by Ruth: I have two gay cousins. One is male and lives in san fran and the other is a lesbian and lives in london.I don't have a relationship with either but I do love them. Its hard when you see family going down a dangerous path and can't do anything about it. Me and my sibs were much younger then my cousins and when we had family dinners they were told by my aunt that if they were to never show affection towards their bf or gf in front of us kids.I don't think she went far enough because I grew up thinking gay was fine-that it was,{normal}.Even my mom being a christian didn't stop the influence thay had on us younger ones.I don't mean to sound uncaring but, I'm glad that I'm not close to that side of my family-I just wouldn't want all the arguments and hurt feelings. What do u do when u love your family who are gay, but u don't want them to influence your children? I wish I had the answer?

Posted by IlovemyJesus: Ruth, I wanted to tell you my husband and I made a decision a few months ago concerning my brother that came out of the closet to our family a year ago. We are going to love him no matter what. However, we will not allow him to have any type of influence over our children. If he is allowed by my parents to bring his "friend" to their house we will simply not go. We of course will not go to his home in another State as long as he is living the active homosexual lifestyle. Believe me it was not an easy conclusion, but my first priority is to sheild my children and that I will do....

ok...well after helping with science homework tonight, the animated topic of evolution has come up in the SS household. My kids are quite interested in this and find it fascinating that you people believe you evolved from apes...and even moreso, in fact, that you are apes. You should see their looks of disbelief......They are truly concerned and think something must be wrong with you.

I have been told to ask you guys a question or two...please keep in mind that this is their question and your reply is to be directed towards them. Please keep in mind their ages of 13 and 11, and they know virtually nothing about science or evolution....so please keep it nice and age-appropriate. They are excited to see your replies and going to be checking in...not only that but they are going to be responding. Please be aware that my kids have been forewarned that some on here will call me names and/or try to insult me in a variety of ways...so if that feels good to you, go ahead, we're all ok with it....but they do ask that the questions be answered.

Also, all answers on behalf of my name in this thread will be answered by them, unless otherwise indicated.

So the questions are:

Kylie

"If creatures evolved from worms or other primitive animals, then why are there still worms today?"

Katie

"Evolutionists say that humans are apes...so if that is the case why are our mental capabilities so much better than apes, and also, when can we expect apes to start talking?"

Non-believers, why is it............................…

.....that you claim one of the things that helps prove there is no God is that the different religions in the world are mostly contained in seperate geographical regions?

So what?

This dates back about 4,000 years ago when God decided to reveal the truth to one group of people in the world because everyone else on the planet was sinful and wasn't ready for the truth.

The truth was exposed in the first five books in the Bible.

Now, imagine if you spill something on a map of the world. It's going to spread slowly and not cover EVERYTHING instantly. It's going to take time.

Christianity is still spreading. That's why it's not everywhere yet. It takes TIME.

And don't bring up how my parents happened to be Christian as a reason why I am Christian. That is a coincidence.

Guess what, do you believe in evolution?

Do your parents believe in evolution too?

Does that automatically mean evolution is false?

There was also incest in the OT. Didn't Lot's daughters trick him, get him drunk and sleep with him to have children? I don't think this production is a good idea personally.
Preaching the GOOD news from the NT would be a better. This just sounds very dark (because it is) this world is dark enough without having to display that subject matter.

I used to work in Labor and Delivery before I became a SAHM and we had a lesbian couple who delivered. One time one partner delivered, and with the next baby, the other partner. (So each woman would get to experiance pregnancy and delivery)They too used a turkey baster but they didn't purchase the sperm. They got it from a male gay couple they knew.

They were VERRY open about their situation. They weren't just open...they LOOVED talking about it and would discuss it with any and everyone who came into contact with them.

Upon admission, they made a huge deal about giving us all these legal papers (power of attorney, etc) and made a huge deal that 2 mothers were listed on the birth certificate...and 2 fathers. (the gay male couple who had given the sperm). Upon delivery, the delivery room was full with all 4 members of this "family" present. They also insisted that armbands be made to include them all.

The other gay couple I knew of that delivered was a male couple. They had a surrogate. The mother who delivered was a young, married woman with 2 other children. She would not discuss the situation...said it was too painful. She always looked like she was about to cry. (Absolutely broke my heart).

However, the gay couple again, LOVED talking about it. They told us they had obtained a donor egg from another state, and had fresh breast milk flown in from another state. (Eww! Didn't even know you could do that until then). Upon delivery, the gay couple went into the postpartum area, while the birth mother was transferred to another part of the hospital.

ALL us nurses went home praying for the baby and birth mother.

(Can Christians buck down demons?}

WE can't but God can, and He can do it through us. This gives me the opportunity to mention an interesting dream I had just prior to waking this morning.

I can't remember all of it, but I do remember the end of it. In the dream I was with a group of people when we discovered that one "person" was a satanic being. One man started quoting scripture at the creature, and being a singer I started singing praises to God. As I did that I put my hands on his face, and the creature shriveled up and fell dead at my feet--looking like someone who had been dead a long time.

God has set a chain of command. The Bible says in 1 Tim. 2: 11-13,“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. (12) But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (13) For Adam was first formed, then Eve.And then 1 Cor. 11:3 gives the rest of the chain of command: ”But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” So we see here the order of authority in our universe, is set up in the verse we just read …
