Quote# 54888

Those woodpeckers that survived could only be woodpeckers that had the genetic makeup to have long beaks. A simple study on genetics reveals that once the genetic information has left, no new information grows. All changes result from a LOSS of genetic information, there is no example anywhere of an increase in information.

Therefore, while longer beaked woodpeckers could survive better and, consequently, produce offspring with only the information included on longer beaks - there is no possibility that they could EVER produce offspring that would genetically transform into creatures that carry completely NEW DNA - magically becoming different animals as time goes by.

One problem believers in evolution have is they do not understand the leap that has to be made from genetic mutation and loss of information resulting in minor changes inside of species, in comparison with the problem of trying to transform one animal into another by adding of genetic information.

In class they will give you all these examples like the woodpecker or the peppered moth. Give me a break. That's not changing from one animal to another. But they will tell you it is the same thing on a smaller scale, so you can believe evolution. It is NOT the same thing. That is as great a leap as it would be to take an example of stripping down a '33 Ford to make it a highboy, and saying that's the same kind of changes as it would be for it to gradually become a flying Pegasus. Totally different thing going on. One is stripping down, the other is fantasy. But people swallow it like babies and mashed bananas. sigh....

Quote# 54909

Our children have fallen under the corrupting influence of an extraordinarily popular movie.

The story is very appealing to jaded children who yearn for adventure: An orphan trapped in a dismal lifestyle is whisked away to a magical place ruled by a wizard, where witches fly around on broomsticks and cast spells in pursuit of dubious goals.

Not surprisingly, this world is filled with perversions of natural order, such as characters with inhuman traits and animals that have been mutated into frightening monsters. Gemstones are bestowed with strange powers, which is typical of occultist practice since medieval times.

This film supports the dangerous and seductive idea that witchcraft is fine, as long as you differentiate between "good" and "evil" magic. This moral ambiguity results in violence begetting violence; not surprisingly, the antagonists meet their demise in rather gruesome fashion.

Children who fall prey to this film will undoubtedly become aware that an entire series of books by the same author exists, which will further serve to indoctrinate young minds into this cauldron of evil temptation.

This travesty of film making to which I refer is, of course, "The Wizard Of Oz." As good Christian parents, we must ensure that our children are never exposed to the inherent dangers of this film, and that these tools of Satanic learning are eliminated from our homes and our school libraries. The time has come to take your side in this righteous crusade.

[A few believers of the 23 Minutes in Hell story (a.k.a. Pascal's Wager Time!)]

ChildofGod90: I as well feel sorry for those who mock this story, or our Lord Jesus Christ for that matter. Saying this all isnt true may be your perception. But there is great amounts of evidence that the Bible and the Lord is the one Truth. SO maybe for the first time, consider this, what if your WRONG?, what if your perception and rejection of Christ will lead you to this horrific place? Put yourself in that cell in that environent, no way out. sure we dont know if Wiese's story was a reality or just a mere dream, but the truth remains the same, Hell is real, the Bible speaks on it, its for eternity, FOREVER!

Undertow: I feel very sorry for all the non-believers who have posted here... It is sad since many of you have totally missed the point of this Man's account... You the story in and of itself is not the message, this isn't a "scared straight" message... This book is to encourage people to read and understand the Bible. The specific experience that this man endured is not greater than the Truth that has already been written in the Bible. The Bible is the book of truth but many, myself included, have never read it... Its stories like these that trigger one to do their Truths... Furthermore, the saddest part about reading these blogs is that many are saying the good go to heaven and the bad go to hell... who are we to determine who is "good enough" to go to heaven. Human standards are not the standards which determine everlasting life.

joninokc007: 23 Minutes in Hell will make impact on people who already believe i Christianity, and will be a source of amusement to the atheists and science types who pigeon hole all paranormal experience into insanity, dreams, hallucination, or mental illness. This is how the world is. Perceptual boxes can be very airtight, and systems of beliefs can be as airtight The problem is, everyone dies, and if there is an afterlife, it is handy to prepare for it. It is easy to accept uncritically the party line of the state and science that you are a shaved monkey and helpless tool of the powers that be in society, but what if they lied, and reality is much more complex and supernatural than you were told.

I just really want Israel to nuke someone already. I don't even care if it's not Damascus, I just want them to unleash the beast on some hateful islamic nation. I'm so sick of the tolerance and all the controversy over how everyone thinks that Israel is illegitimate. They really need a leader that isn't afraid to show their power. I know the tragedy of the lost dying when Israel does this, but I'm sick of God being blasphemed. Just felt like I probably needed to qualify the previous sentences.

[From the comments on the story of the woman whose church is threatening to go public with her sins.]

As a Sothern Baptist pastor, I want to say that a common misconception is... I think represented from the comment above... is that if you are unrepentant and about to be disciplined by your church that you can just leave tell the leadership that you are withdrawing your membership. There is nothing in the Scripture that supports such a notion. In fact, while I would acknowledge that a person can leave any church for any reason; this does not nullify the churches responsibility to go forward with their actions. One of the purposes of church discipline is to SHAME the person who is in sin.

It is the same with the current "assisted suicide" laws that are being passed in states.
Step 1: It is ok for a MD to assist with a suicide in certain conditions.
Step 2: It is ok for a MD to assist with suicide in more conditions.
Step 3: It is ok for a PA to assist with suicide in a broader range of conditions.
Step 4: It is ok for a nurse to assist in suicide for emotional as well as physical reasons.
Step 5: It is ok for "community organizers" to assist with suicide for the betterment of mankind (sorry...couldn't help myself)
Step 6: It is ok for a spouse to "assist" with the suicide of the other spouse if they cannot affort to pay for any of the above to support in the process.
Step 7: Murder will no longer be a crime. A man with a gun who demands your money will simply be assisting you with suicide when he pulls the trigger and takes your wallet.

Once we start down the path...we humans always want to broaden our rights.

Question: How do flying cars and abortion relate to one another?

Answer: If Roe Vs. Wade hadn't have passed, a would-be abortee would have gone on to invent the flying car. (Or at least make them practical for us all.) Then the promise of "flying cars by 2000" would have seen its fulfillment that year.

[title: CAN MUSLIMS BE GOOD AMERICANS? (yes, all caps like that.)]

Theologically - no . . . Because his allegiance is to Allah, The moon God of Arabia.

Religiously - no. . . . Because no other religion is accepted by His Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256) (Koran ).

Scripturally - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran.

Geographically - no. . . . Because his allegiance is to Mecca , to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. .. . . Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. . . . Because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. . . . Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. . . . Becaus e he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles, and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. . . . Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. . . . Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as Heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation, perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country.

They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans.

[More tomfoolery from that great thinker Robert Byers]

Plate tectonics is one of the best things to come along for creationism.
It helps explain the breakup of one land mass and the source for the great pressure of water pushing sediment around and turning into stone instantly where it landed. It explains deeper oceans and where mts came from.
creationism uses it in its models.
it all happened in one year and was then over.
Its as it looks.
The earth splitt up and settled where it is now save for some minor rocking.

(It's what Dawkins calls "The God of the Gaps." No matter how small science makes the gaps, the truly stupid will keep trying to shoehorn their 'god' into them.)

Richard Dawkins arrogance never fails to amaze me. What kind of professional adult spokesman, deliberatley calls people stupid???

I believe that if the Big Bang happened, then of course God did it. The proof lies in the fact that science cannot explain what was before it. Human intelligence states that there must have been something before the beginning as 'nothing' simply doesn't exist.
When Dawkins can explain this little conundrum, I may listen to him. In the mean time, whenever there is no earthly answer, then a Godly answer must suffice. To argue otherwise just seems childish to me.

I just said it comes with natural consequences that include the presence of a human life inside one's body, and we're not obliged to provide a way out of those natural consequences once the exercising of this right begins to infringe on the very right to life of another. It's not making a moral statement to say that if a person has sex, they should be prepared to accept biological consequences, it's a scientific one.

I do not believe that a baby can be born without a soul. Science has shown that when a person dies there is extra weight that has been lost and cannot be accounted for. It is often argued that this unaccounted for weight is the soul of the body.

As science has explained this as the soul, and presumptuous that you can not purchase a soul somewhere and have it added to your body then the only logical conclusion would be that we are born with the soul already in place.

So I ask, can a baby be born without a soul?

here's the deal....homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. It doesn't help build up marriages and stable families and quite honestly, I am way past sick and tired of them hollerimg that this is a civil rights issue...it isn't. I also have had enough of them trying to jam it down the throats of people who do not agree with them...which, last time I heard, was most of the country. There is no convincing evidence that people are born that way...if there were, then it would make a lie of a lot of Scripture and that's not possible since God isn't wrong. If these people are bound and determined to live this lifestyle, then that's their choice and I am not suggesting they go hide in a closet either but they need to appreciate that this in your face stuff is offensive and they have no right to marginalize evangelicals for the sake of their misguided life choices. I just pray they hear the Gospel and wake up before it is too late for them spiritually.

Well here in Canada if you were to talk about God, the Bible, or even the subject matter of this website your family could have you thrown into the Sanitarium where your drugged and held until they feel you have been rehabilitated.

I have a friend who I had witnessed to, and when He approached His Mother and Girlfriend with the news that He believed in God, the Devil, the Bible etc. they had Him sent to the San, He was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and held, drugged, and given therapy.. this guy was fine, in fact an extremely awesome guy... He came out overweight, black bags under His eyes, big eyed.. and seemingly, not all there.....

I don't know how long China has been doing this, but we've been doing it here in Canada for a long time. 8 seniors in homes died here in the last month, i personally know nurses who work in these homes who tell me they see the older nurses with the pull emptying out pills and loading them with sedatives to knock out the problem tenants... now as I said, 8 seniors die and no one bats an eye, can you say euthanized, everything is just done behind the curtains here and people have the dont ask, dont tell policy, so everyone cant pretend these things dont go on, I cringe when our media has this holier then though attitude towards China, the only difference is that they call it what it is, and are far less sneaky. and shouldn't be news to you over in AMERICA, history shows that American soldiers received lobotomy's (jabbing the frontal lobe of their brain) to cure what was ailing them.....

America doesn’t need to worry about being invaded by another country; it needs to worry about imploding from within. Gay rights and other loony-left, cultural stuff like this is dividing America. There is so much civil unrest at the moment with radical, left-wing loonies at the center of all of it. This article really shows the true color of the so-called, peace-loving, ‘GAY’ community; they are just a bunch of hate-filled thugs. I rather hope more of these assaults occur to really portray gays for what they are. The more they do this, the more people will hate them. What right do they think they have to turn the world upside down; to turn falsehoods into truths.

You are going to see a lot more of this under the Obama watch - the loony left will want pay back for getting Obama there.
