I'm frequently out there witnessing and when I run into a professing Christian, probably 95% of the professing Christians are living in a fornicating relationship, believe Muslims and other faiths go to heaven, and don't know what repentance is. It's rare to meet a real Christian out there.

I am curious if anyone else gets chills when reading the Bible, praying, or even reading the forums? So am I a freak or does this happen to others?

The experience is pleasant, I love when it happens and wish I felt like that all the time. Typical I have chills (goosebumps) that build until the sensation is very intense. Sometimes I have tears of the joyous sort and it usually ends with a very peaceful feeling and praise.

I just never asked anyone I guess. I know people get chills but usually they are not from something pleasant happening. These are very pleasant, joyous, happy chills. I probably should not pray while driving though, as they are seriously distracting

If we speaking of "Christian" solely in terms of those who are saved, I would say 9% is probably too high.

[Atheism doesn't adhere to anything except a non-belief in gods. And as for atheism not existing, I can't say anything other than I'm an atheist.]

I never said that the concept of atheism didn't exist; Atheists just don't. I just do not believe you really are. Even if the philosophy of atheism was actually considered it would ultimately declare its adherents as well as the created order a mere illusion. Therefore, I don't believe an atheist really exists.

I am going to make the argument that abortion is intended to be a form of ritual child sacrifice to the goddess in the minds the feminist leaders who promote it. I'm going to provide historical context, biblical confirmation, and quotes from witches and feminists. I'll be around to debate anyone who wants to deny that abortion, paganism, witchcraft, and child sacrifice are linked and on the rise...Witchcraft is the spiritual force behind the politics of abortion.

[Later in the same thread]

It goes something like this:

Liberal Christianity-->Feminism-->Hatred of Father God and all things patriarchal-->Lesbianism-->Paganism-->Witchcraft.

(Can you choose to get a boner when you see Brad Pitt? If not, then shut up. Provide evidence or admit defeat.)

No I cannot choose that because I know that even trying to would be wrong. By my scientific calculations, all homosexuals would have to do is realize the same thing, and proof! No more homosexuality in those people. All they need to do is choose to be straight and then work at it! They can suppress their immoral desires until they go away completely! Then they can live normal lives. It is really that simple.

Your so-called years of scientific study mean squat.

Homosexuality is a result of psychological abuse and/or sense of inadequacy. I bet you anything that if you start frequenting gay bars and hooking up with the guys, you will adapt to that behavior.

Homosexuality is a behavior. Behavior can be changed and adapted to a certain result.

If homosexuality lies in the genes that means that killing is also in the genes, therefore all murderers should be freed.

(Conservative Christians hold most of the blame for the GLBT suicide rate.)

WRONG! It's actually homophobes like YOU that are to blame for gay people killing themselves. Why, if it weren't for homophobes like you, people who are gay would come to realize that they are in control of their own lives and have the ability to change if they put forth the effort. But no, people like you brainwash them and keep them stupid. You keep them decieved and make them think that they can't change no matter how hard they want to and no matter how hard they try.

You keep them enslaved to a sinful, dangerous, and depressing deathstyle! You are the homophobes, not the Christians. We are the only ones looking out for their wellbeing and their lives!

You know, it's not a lifestyle that's good for this nation. You know, studies show, no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted for more than, you know, a few decades. So it's the death knell for this country. . .

I honestly think it's the biggest threat our nation has, even moreso than terrorism or Islam, which I think's a big threat. . .

What's happening now, they are going after -- in schools -- two year olds. That's why they're trying to get early childhood education. They want to get our young children into the government schools so they can indoctrinate them. . .

I taught school for close to twenty years, and we're not teaching facts and knowledge anymore, folks. We're teaching indoctrination.

[Regarding Southern Baptists finally coming around to recognize global warming and what they need to do about it]

Since I'm Baptist, wouldn't the large membership of the Southern Baptist Convention be better served by fighting those who are trying to degrade and do away with Christianity, the use of God in public places, Prayer in every location except the churches, etc, etc, etc.? Instead of taking up a cause considered nonexistant to many, do something that would really make a difference in the world.

Actually, this was exactly the conversation I had with a Christian friend of mine from church last June. I told her that I felt like I was losing my mind, and I truly felt detached, a sense of 'depersonalization'. Sometimes I feel as if I'm just watching my life in a movie, and that I'm not even real. She got so excited that she started laughing. She said, "Don't you get it??? That's because you are not supposed to feel like you belong here! God is preparing your soul, just like you asked Him to!"

[On a thread about Hillary being President]

I think a women president goes against what women are as a whole. In fact, it is a great blow to the sanctity and holiness of women, it confuses and blurs the roles of man and woman, not to mention it goes against everything in the Gospels and the apostle Paul. It sets a bad example. If a man walked into a office with a bra and a skirt on, he would be told to leave immediatly and dress properly.

(Homosexuality is in fact, natural)

Irrelevant. What occurs in nature is not the definition used to define what is natural for humans. We mean what is natural for humans is what is good and productive for humans. What animals do is irrelevant, since animals do many sick and barbaric things as well. Therefore, homosexuality is not natural for humans.

Quote# 36063

Avoid -- I grew up watching and emulating Star Trek's Captain Kirk. God has been dealing with my heart for years on this issue. While Star Trek is a good show of adventure and action like a US Navy in space, it has a subtle way of infiltrating people's beliefs. Trekker's are fans that are obsessed with the philosophy of Star Trek. It is a religion to them. Believing in something/someone means to put your whole being into motion on those beliefs. According to Star Trek 2 the Wrath of Khan, Dr. McCoy says "According to myth, the Earth was created in six days...". Spock is ressurected in Star Trek 3 without any mention of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, or God doing it. It is all human technology that does it. Man has become god. In Star Trek 5, they look for God in the center of the galaxy only to find a nasty alien. Kirk says "God is every one of us" (total New Age lies!) Sex outside of marriage is implied in all the Star Trek series/movies. Research of Gene Roddenbery's philosophy on life shows he believed in New Age, that humans can do anything as gods themselves. Enterprise, is setting a background for all the philosophies seen in later Star Trek shows. Tolerance and acceptance of everyone's beliefs is a subtle form of deceit used by the enemy of our souls. Only Jesus Christ can bring life, happiness, adventure, fulfillment, and peace to Earth. Jesus Christ is our Ultimate Frontier. To seek the lost, to declare the new life in Christ to those lost, to boldly go where the Holy Spirit leads! Hebrews 3:12,13; Romans 12; Psalm 14; Psalm 101:3; Philippians 4:8;

Quote# 36074

My husband works 2nd shift at his job so he comes home late at night. When he came home this evening we went out to grab a bit to eat at an all night diner not far from home. While we were there, a young girl came in that I know. She's not a Christian. I talked to her about Jesus. She didn't want to hear it. SO I told her that if the Rapture happened I wanted her to get my little dog, Moppet. I said...and I quote; "If the rapture happens, you're not going because you wont give your life to Jesus." She said...and I quote "I know. But don't worry, I'll take care of Moppet for you." She didn't even care that she could miss the rapture! THEN........

Another young girl came in that was also a friend of my daughters when she was growing up (My daughter talked to both girls all the time about the Lord but neither gave their lives to Him) This girl had tried to commit suicide about 8 months ago... we haven't seen her since just before this event....I asked her how she was doing with it and she said she was fine now. Then I said, "If you had have succeeded in committing suicide, you do know where you would be right now, don't you?"

The girl actually said...actually said, "oh, I know I'm going to hell!"

Dear Lord help me! It makes me want to scream at them.."ARE YOU INSANE?" I wish I could just shake some sense into them! Maybe it's that they don't believe the Lord really IS coming back! Or maybe it's that they really don't care! I don't know.

I just really want to go home!

last year my rabbit (see avatar) started to go blind in one eye (cataract) i prayed to the Lord last December to please spare her good eye...i could see a faint cataract forming & i prayed that it would not develop like the other one i thanked our Lord Jesus so much because the cataract didn't get worse
sadly at the end of February, 2 weeks ago i noticed that the cataract was getting bigger & whiter. i realized that BB was going blind in that eye too i was sad & cried but i didn't think that my Lord hadn't answered my prayer...because of him i'm able to keep going and accept what has happened to my beautiful girl.

i've come to understand that even when things don't go well our Lord Jesus is still our wonderful Lord & Savior no matter what!

thank you Lord for giving me your grace and peace to accept that not everything in life turns out how you want it too

Quote# 36062

Women and girls should take full responsibility for any untoward thoughts that men may have about them. They need to be careful to keep fully covered; not just their midriff area, but also their neck, arms, and legs. Clothing should not only be fashioned to completely cover, but also be loose enough to fully disguise even the feminine shape or form. Bathing suits should always be avoided and even in summer, one should wear long sleeves. In some cases, hair should be wrapped up in scarves or snoods, and should never be allowed to be loose for the view of men.

Everyone knows that men are aroused by even the mere sight of loose hair. We can't blame them or expect them to control themselves. It is their nature and we ladies are responsible for helping men and boys to control their nature.

We ladies need to realize that everytime a man is aroused by the sight of our bodies, we are responsible for tempting him to sin. To remove this temptation, we need to fully cover ourselves. It is fully our own fault if we have not covered up.

[Fortunately another poster contradicts this, saying that women are not responsible for grown men's - and total strangers - mental wellbeing.]
