[the musings of an intellectual giant]

How could you not believe in a higher power?
I just don't get it. Evolution??? Please, that's crazy! Look at everything around us. Look at our bodies, and how our systems work. Look how our hearts constantly beat for years, and years non stop. Look how our lungs take air in and out for years and years. Look how our bodies systems just naturally do what they are supposed to do, each seperate system working together to keep us alive.

How in the h*ll could someone say that's evolution??? I just don't get it. If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?? There aren't anymore neanderthals (or whatever the h*ll you people want to call them), so why are there still apes??

It's unbelievable that people could think we are just here on earth, just because. We just came out of nowhere, or the "big bang theory" whatever the h*ll that is. It's ridiculous!

Say what you will about Muslims, I greatly admire the way their women "cover up." This is the way it should be. Sinful Americans have attempted to demonize the Islam culture, by portraying Muslim women as "victims" of a male-chauvinist society. In reality, most Muslim women approve of their strict clothing rules, and still honor their husbands with reverence, as part of their religious faith. In sharp contrast, American women have big mouths, bad attitudes, whorish ways about them, a ton of stubborn sinful pride, and have little (if any) respect for God-ordained masculine authority. Woe unto America!!!

I’m sure the evolutionists’ enjoy playing with their new billion-dollar toy the taxpayers have provided them to help them prove their religion by finding molecules evolving into life on Mars since they have been unable to find this on earth. Why can’t Christians on either side of the pond get the same money to prove the Bible is true? Their wanton waste of taxpayer dollars on their personal ego gratification will exhaust the patience of our Lord and Savior! The hubris of the evolutionists will outlast his longsuffering! I think he will make the International Space Station crash on Richard Dawkins during one of his speeches denouncing him!

[From three seperate posts]
I too am a Christian and my campaigns are always in congress with the catechism. Alignment is based on Christian Ethics, and there is only one God. All other false gods are treated as demons. This has allowed my gaming group to enjoy the fun of gaming, while not risking their immortal souls.

[Another poster asks: I'm not seeing why pretending that Christianity is false endangers anyone's soul. Does performing an Ancient Greek play in which other gods exist endanger anyone's soul?]

Yes. Ideas are powerful. While the greeks contributed much to western civilization, one must always be wary of the pagan underpinnings of their writings. Honoring a false god, even if you are only playing a character, puts your mind and soul in harmony with the darkness. Not to mention much of the morality advocated in such plays is entirely un-Christian. I know such beliefs are out of fashion these days, but this is how I feel. You cannot expect me to do something that I feel goes against my religion just because you feel differently. Mind you, I am not in the habit of denouncing role playing games or even Harry Potter. I just want my campaigns to be wholesome. I would prefer there be no misunderstanding when I appear before St. Peter.

[Gets called a troll and a sock puppet]

I am not a troll. Unfortunately my strong Christian views did get me kicked off the previous RPG forum I was on. I do tend to a splash wherever I go.

Perhaps you are protestant. Catholics are not free to interpret scripture to their tastes. I do not believe it is correct for a lay person to read a translation of the Gospels and believe that they know what Jesus intended to say. I don't know why you think I live in fear. I live in joy knowing that Jesus died for my sins and that the true God is a God of love. I try as hard as I can to live according to Catholic teachings, and to be a good person. I also do believe that evil people will suffer eternally for their choices.

Since it has come up though, I find it interesting that people react so strongly when you advocate a set of Christian precepts that acknowledge the existence of evil. Yet when people advocate the most horrendous things in the name of tolerance and relativism, no one bats an eye.

[My major objection to fundies like...Micheal is that they want everyone to live by their rules. They don't like abortions, so abortion should be made illegal. They like school prayer, so it should become mandatory. They don't like same-sex marriage, so gays and lesbians should not marry. In short, they want people to be tolerant of their beliefs but they refuse to tolerate any beliefs other than their own.]

So you object to authority in general, since people in authority want everyone to live by their rules.

Are you an anarchist or something?

There are sexual demons that are associated with people being Gay. A lot of times scientist and others do argue that it is because of an overlapping of the X or Y chromosome with the gender. While those sexual demons spirits enter the mothers womb through witchcraft/ voodoo encounters, lack of prayer etc. By just relying upon their intellect and the social world their become vain in their imagination and their foolish heart was darkened .Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. I'm not a movie prude; we check out many kinds of movies. And I expect most anything coming out of Hollywood, with any rating, to include something contrary to my values. I let most of it roll off my back. But with Happy Feet, I didn't expect my conservative Christian family to be assaulted with what we all recognized as a anti-Christian screed, with open mockery of traditional Christian preaching against values and lifestyles contrary to church teachings. It was abundantly clear that Happy Feet substituted homosexuality with dancing as the "different" lifestyle that was the unfair target of an Inquisition on ice. It was Dirty Dancing and Footloose all over again, but with the rhetoric and situation developed to make religious criticism of homosexuality counter to everything good and pleasing.

*on gay marriage legal in california*

This ruling is nonsensical, given what marriage is. Marriage is the legally binding life-long contract between two sexual partners that exists strictly because the sexual activity produces children who require long-range nurture and education.

America is full of idiots who don't even know what makes the "marriage" relationship distinct from all other human relationships. The procreation of the citizenry is what makes "marriage" unique among all human relationships. The long-range aspect of the "marriage contract" arises from the right children have to be nurtured into adulthood by the sexual partners that created them.

Likewise, the state has an interest in protecting and preserving the machinery that creates and nurtures the citizenry of which it is comprised.

Your "science" and "knowledge " isn`t gonna help you when your dead. Typical of you atheists. You don`t want to hear the other side. No debate, you are a narrow minded person who has tunnel vision. Do you think that it is fair ?? Yes, science has given us many wonderful inventions, but it has also been a curse. In the 50`s, TV wouldn`t even show Elvis Presley below the waist because he "swiveled" his hips. Now look at the filth on TV.

[Follow-up post]

You can`t talk to you people. You people jump down a Christian`s throat like a pack of wolves. and YOU call Christians "arrogant" ?? lol...look in the mirror. You`re pathetic. What do you think Science is going to do for you after you`re dead ?? bring you back to life ??? lol. Look at the big picture. Quit being an ass.

No innate ability to change is not evolution for many reasons. Its not triggered by selection or happenchance mutations. Its instantly a adaptation perhaps even in the womb of a mother without the adaptation.

I know all claims about folks not changing now.
Yet the change did happen quickly so we merely surmise that human bodies after the flood wre more sensitive to adaptation. Of coarse since we needed it god would of provided the mechanism. I have siggested before that the oringinal bodies did not have the colour fixed in our skin. Our skin perhaps was very different and flexible to any change. like a chameleon maybe.
Only after the flood did our bodies have more severe needs and more severe skin change results.
We needed to get light to get the sun or we needed to get black to protect from the sun. like your rickets example.
Our bodies perhaps don't change today for the reason they are in a fixed state. originally we were not and things being more primitive we couldn't take care of ourselves.
Human bodies are the great example of quick adaptive change that is innate just as I see it in animals.

slavery has been apart of the world since the begaining. are we not slaves to god, but free slaves? and if a man has a slave on this earth its nothing new, how he treates his slave is up to him. desease is a result of our sin towards god, so this is what we have brought into the world. our attitudes such as intolerance and bigotry should be left out of our hearts by using obidence and displine to gods will. its our choice to act this way, gods not making us act this way. genocide from god?? lol

all i see is a bunch of evolutionists on here whining. you know, all Darwin had a doctorate of THEOLOGY! he started as a creationist, a minister in the Catholic Church, and then decided to abandon his faith when he invented his theory. Darwin was never a scientist. And as far as I know, in all the years of science that was taught to me in high-school and college, the teachers all taught that the science could NEVER PROVE ANYTHING, REPEAT, ANYTHING!!! Look it up in your forgotten textbooks, science cannot prove anything. Just think about the whole thing about the solar system. Hundreds of years of thinking about the earth being the center of the universe was thrown out the window, yet just before, everybody in the world thought that it was fact! Lol. We're all entitled to our own view about how the world works, and we can peacefully debate it to our hearts content. But in an effort to be fair to our children, we should teach all theories in our schools, not that I personally believe in all those theories, but it should be our children's choice as to what to believe. Personally, I think we're all being a little bit childish as to our beliefs, lets all just agree to disagree.

I'm inclined to think that anything in or on our person will disappear in the Rapture. It wouldn't be very dignified to have people stumbling across our underwear. If you were to say that things like pacemakers and teeth fillings will be left behind, you would also have to apply that principle to undigested food because it hasn't become part of your 'person' yet. Urk! Not a nice thought, eh? So I reckon everything on or in does the zappo too.

my science teacher is obsessed with the big bang (if it even happend) and he yaps about how chistianity or budism are beliefs, and have no evidence to support them. if a theory is a belief that has proof to back it up, i asked him what proof there was to support the big bang theory. he talked about the red shifts, and how the universe is expanding. what i dont understand is how can scientists say that the universe expands and shrinks and when it shrinks realy small then explodes in a big bang. HOW THE HECK DO YOU COME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT THERE WAS THIS BIG EXPLOSION THAT CREATES A UNIVERSE JUST BECAUSE COLOR IS CHANGING ON A SPECTRUM? but what realy annoys me is all of the videos about the "big bang" and how these wacked up scientist talk about the big bang like they KNOW for sure that it happend. this is more of a rant than a question, but i just want some input.

I was doing counseling with victims of sexual assault at a secular agency. Yes, I understand that what a woman wears has nothing to do with "traitional" rape (which is a matter of control and/or anger, not sex), but after talking to some of these women, I got to wondering what ever happened to common sense. Young women would go out with guys wearing clothing that left little or nothing to the imagination, have quite a few drinks, go back to the guy's place....then call us to complain that they'd been "assaulted!" Hello? You dress like a streetwalker, both of you get drunk....what did you THINK he was asking you to his apartment for - a Bible study?

I suggested to the head of the organization that we start a City-wide campaign, along the lines of, "If you want to be treated like a lady, try dressing like one." There IS a campaign with billboards and signs on the sides of buses about waiting until marriage before having sex (from a different agency); I wanted to take it a step further. Guess what? Virtually ALL the (female) counselors had a fit when I suggested such a thing; they claimed they had a "right" to wear anything they want! I tried the tact of, "Doesn't it bother you to have your husbands looking at all these half-naked girls?", to which I was told, "If my husband can't control himself, that's HIS problem!"

I really couldn't continue on there - they were "helping" girls after the fact, but doing nothing to prevent them being assaulted in the first place - it was like pulling out a band-aid after telling someone it was OK to stick her hand in a chainsaw. (And let me reiterate, because I always get a lot of flak on this - what a woman wears has NOTHING to do with traditional rape; I'm talking about date rape, so-called sexual assault, and driving a man - when both parties are often drunk and/or on drugs - into a frenzy, then primly saying, "No means no!") Because these women have no common sense, men's lives are litterally being destroyed with criminal records that will follow them the rest of their days.

Boys don't need encouragement to have sex. They are continuously high on the mind-altering drug testosterone. Girls need a little help. They need to be told 1) Sex feels good 2) Everbody's doing it 3) You can do it safely. Their "sex education" uses titalation. It encourages children to have sex. PP's plan is to turn little girls into sluts at a very young age. Even if they use condoms, PP knows that promiscuous kids eventually will make a mistake and get pregnant (if not something worse) and PP is there to serve them. Killing unborn babies isn't the worst of it. The emotional damage they do to women lasts a lifetime. Last year's income approached one billion dollars. Much of it was taxpayer money. If you hate your kids, particularly your sweet little girls, go with PP. Getting kids pregnant and killing their unborn is their business! And it's now a billion dollar business. "Sex education" is what drives it.

It's retarded to believe that the cause of such advanced evolution is just random. If the mutations were truly random and not decided by the brain, howcome animals and humans intelligently adept to their surroundings without getting extinct all the time?
