Hey if you really want to get freaked out about CERN, go back to their webpage you linked too and look closely at their logo. Now, what three numbers does that look like to you? I'm not saying anything, it's just "interesting". As to your comments...I wouldn't be surprised at all if their more going on here than what they are letting on. Believe me, the CERN thing gets weirder and weirder, but I don't want your thread thrown in the shed.

To paraphrase the recent Supreme Court decision, there is an individual right to keep and bear arms, and just because you are an incompetent government that has no clue how to deal with violent crime doesn't mean you can take away my God-given right to defend myself. Take that you darn liberals!

Quote# 41896

Atheists are second-rate rebels

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Atheists think they are rebels but they're second-rate.
The real rebels are Christians.

Christians go against the grain of this world. And always will.
It's easy getting carried away by the wind. Not so easy to take a stand and walk against it.

Atheists are not rebels, more like cowards. Rebelling against the Christianity that you were brought up with from your loving parents and community is not big or clever.

If you want to be a real rebel, follow Christ. Then you can rebel against the evil in this world. If you love God then you must hate evil, as God hates evil.

Standing up against Christians is cowardly. You know the Christians will not go as low as you. And you take advantage of this. Even judging Christians by the Bible yet you're too cowardly to accept how fallen you are compared to that standard.

If you want to be tough guys, start standing up for the unborn. Start standing up for morals. Start standing up for decency. Stand up against sin. By doing so you will face deep hostility, hatred and abuse from the enemies of Christ. Something you don't get from Christians. The atheist rebels are wrapped in cotton wool, too afraid to take on evil.

Jesus was a rebel for righteousess. That's what a real rebel is. Any fool can just go along with the fashions and sins in this world. It's easy to go along with sin, try standing up against sin and you'll realise its power over your life. Truth is- you just ain't tough enough to stand against it.

Are the majority of atheists brainwashed?

Or is someone holding up placards with the
words "Sky Daddy", "Imaginary Friend",
"Flying Spaghetti Monster", "Invisible Fairy",
"Santa Christ" for them to read from?

Is it true that Atheists are those people with
vulnerable minds who are susceptible to the
kind of anti-religious propaganda emanating
from Hell itself?

Have they been unwittingly duped by
those who practice pseudoscience and
call it "fact", and those who revise history
and call it the "past"?

Does anyone seriously contend that Atheism
is anything other than a crime against reason
and truth?

[The mayo furour continues]
I was appalled at the advert. Having young children calling a man "mum" was sad, confusing, and so very wrong. Seeing same sex kissing is stomach-churning to most people who are not homosexual. Please keep adverts to appeal to the majority. I feel this was possibly deliberate to get discussion going and to brain wash people into eventually seeing these things as normal. What a sad reflection on life today.

God exists, those who believe we evolved from an ameba need to consider this: why did we happen to evolve on a planet that has everything we need to live on it? why did we turn out to be shaped like men? the things atheists base their religion off of are too fragile and thin to be supportive of anything they say.

Quote# 41862

Those who see the natural inclination of people to judge others harshly are correct. People try to force their favorite form of dress on others in the name of religion the same way homosexuals try to force homosexuality into Christianity in the name of being "nonjudgmental" the problem is the misinterpretation of The Bible.

I will begin out a bit from the question at hand to give a better understanding of the amount of reading necessary to understand some passages of The Bible.

[...]

Also mentioned in I Corinthians 11 is that men should have short hair and again there is a specific reason for this. In Corinth there was a pagan religion that told men to act like women and women to act like men thus promoting homosexuality in the orgies used to worship the deity

ok whats really funny about this part of the subject is this.no matter what you do you can't get away from what God intended.it doesn't matter if it's 2 women or 2 men there is always one who plays the part of the women and one who plays the part of the man.I work at a subway and 2 women lovers came in and it was really weird cause the one who was playing the girl was really ugly and very manly looking but the one playing the man looked like she could be really hot if she would let her hair grow out and act like a girl.I mean if the gender roles are going to be there why not just go with the real thing?

Quote# 41926

Vacation Bible School (VBS) was nearly upon us, and the children's ministry workers had gathered for a final preparatory meeting. Anticipation filled the room as we eagerly awaited the opportunity to minister to the precious little souls that the Lord would send our way. Thankfully, we would be using curriculum that faithfully proclaimed the Gospel.

The meeting was progressing well until a "pillar" in the church suggested that we "avoid speaking about hell and judgment and those types of things and instead focus on the love of God." This is a common sentiment and desire in the church these days, which is only heightened when the audience is primarily children. "We don't want to frighten the children with such a scary subject as hell, do we?" Actually, yes, we do. I'm not suggesting that you turn your VBS into a haunted house. I am pleading with you, though, not to shy away from teaching children the whole counsel of God, including the Bible's teaching on sin and eternal condemnation.

...

When talking about hell, use the same imagery as Jesus (cf. Matt. 13:40-42; Mark 9:43-48). Let me illustrate: Recently, my daughter asked, "Daddy, what's hell?" I said something like this:

Katie, that is a wonderful question! Hell is a place where people go forever and ever once they die if they did not turn away from their sins and trust in Jesus Christ. Hell is a place where people will be "away from the presence of the Lord" (2 Thess. 1:9), only experiencing God's wrath and never His Love. Jesus said there will be weeping in hell, which means it will be a place of sadness at all times. There will be no laughter in hell, no giggles, no dads tickling their little girls. Jesus also described hell as a place where people will "gnash their teeth," meaning it will be a place of anger. There will be no friends in hell.

I went on to explain how glorious Jesus is because He took the wrath of God in the place of every sinner who will trust in Him.

Do you want the children God has put into your life to trust in and love Jesus Christ? Then warn them often about hell. This vital doctrine is one that will drive children to the Savior, and therefore, one we would be foolish to avoid.

[Regarding a movement in Spain to give Apes equal rights to humans, which is kind of over-the-top... but waiting1 has to out-crazy everyone else, of course...]

Sounds to me like someone or someone's in positions of power have some very perverted animal lust. So seeing the gay community get thier way allowing marriage between the same sex, it almost seems like they are trying to pave the way for something else here. Because if they are considered to be humans then by the law as it is written they would actually be able to marry chimpanzees. There is no doubt in my mind that the unregenerated man without Christ is capable of almost any type of depravity and it knows no bounds. I know many will laugh at this. But I told people long before it ever happened that killing people under the guise of "mercy killing" would become legal and it wouldn't stop there and we are at that point now. Now we are allowing same sex marriages, and it won't stop at that either. Lord Help Us and Please Come Soon!

[From thread if creationism and evolution can both be believed in. Eighth answer down]

Evolution is a silly, stupid theory with zero science to support it. It is also a religion because you have to have "faith" in the theory.

The bible says the earth was created about 6000 years ago.

Evolution theory says the earth formed billions and billions of years ago. These two views are drastically different.

There is actually much more evidence for a young earth as mentioned in the bible.

The two views are completely opposing. They cannot both be correct.
Creation is a much more believable origin.

Homosexuality and rape are both violent acts. They both show a disregard for the sanctity of marriage. They both are performed without any intent of procreation. The one violates the sexual organs of the victim and the other violates the appropriate application of sexual organs and those of body functions. In some cases the homosexual act, even where consentual, is reduced to mock fights and forced submission.

[Fundie logic]

I did Saw a picture of Jesus comming to the earth and people were flying off of the earth to be with him. Asked my grandmother what that was she told me it was Jesus comming for His Church and thought to myself I think I will see that one day. I was little maybe 5 or 6 never forgot that and it scared me to think that Jesus would not come for me. So when I heard the gospel at 16 I remembered the picture and knew Jesus was comming again I did not want to be left here. There were other reasons as well but I do recall that picture being a role in my life as a kid and wanting to please God

disappeared along with millions and millions of people around the world.

The reason they chose to send you this letter is because they cared about you
and would like you to know the truth about where they went.

This may come as a shock to you, but the one who sent you this has been taken

Quote# 41882

God made the rules for us – to protect us.
If he never made humans then murder would never be a moral issue. It’s only an issue for us – not God.

God can’t covet – He owns it all.
God can’t steal – again He owns the universe.
God can’t murder – He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back. (If you don’t like this truth it’s because you know you’re not ready to die; you’re not ready to meet God)
God can’t dishonor his mother and father – He didn’t have any, He’s eternal.

But yet as a man in Jesus Christ – God followed every single commandment. Why don't you look at the life of Christ for a moral judgment of God - then you can apply your "earthly" view of what God did as one of us - and then you'll see that God really is sinless.

[so rules don't apply to god, that's how he's "sinless" eh?]

There's nothing bigoted about it. This isn't a racial issue or a discrimination issue, it's an issue of people living their lives in a very wrong way. Homosexuality is a disgusting lifestyle I will never in a billion years support, and I don't care what anyone says or how the law changes to accommodate them. The only thing I will accept from gays is their complete reversal of their lifestyle, and if they're not willing to do that then I want nothing to do with them, just like I don't enjoy associating with liars and cheats and adulterers who don't change their ways. and I don't want them raising our children and creating another even more screwed up generation.

[In reply to: Take a chemistry course, and you can see how global warming would be possible. I agree, some of this stuff has gone too far, but I hate it when people pass judgement on a topic they have no idea about.]

Now hold on a minute. Global warming isnt real, it isnt Godmade, but manmade false doctrine that evil has placed in peoples minds to get them to believe it, rather that saying God is warning people about the coming judgement upon the world now to say it is real, you are buying into a lie other than the truth. Nowhere in the Bible doesnt it mention anything about globalwarming. so hence it isnt real, fake is all. Global warming isnt possible, why cause again it isnt real. No one here is passing judgement, but telling the truth it isnt real, global warming isnt real. there is a difference between correction and passing judgement. And here is the correction: global warming isnt real, no way and how possible, it is not Godmade, but manmade false religon and pits of lies from hell itself.

The History Channel had a 2 hour program called The Antichrist on the other day. Seemed to be a newer version than ones I've seen before, since it had Joel Rosenberg in it. It also had Hal Lindsey......and, ahem, Benny Hinn. Nothing really enlightening in this one over previous ones with one noteable exception. In contrasting the fundamental christian's Biblical end times view of the rapture, the rise of the antichrist and the 7 year tribulation period, they had an abundance of "scholars" presenting their case for Daniel and Revelation as historical metaphors and not literal future events. The interesting thing was nearly every so called scholar had a PHD. I guess you CAN be overeducated and wrong.

The Great Seal of the United States (found on the back of any dollar bill) has, in my not-so-humble opinion, a great deal of anti-religious (well, anti-Christian) imagery. For example, there's that creepy eye (possibly originally a Buddhist or Egyptian symbol) on top of the pyramid. Then there's the phrase, Novus Ordo Seclorum ("A New Order of the Ages"), which qualifies as much as anything I've ever read as a New Age slogan. And does the 13-tiered pyramid really represent the original 13 colonies, or does it symbolize something more sinister, as the number 13 often does?

This is another frog in water attempt to get people use to the idea of homosexuality. It is happening all over and America needs to wake up! I stop letting my children watch Sesame Street 25 years ago when they started promoting that 2 lesbians w/children and 2 gay men w/children were just like a heterosexual family. Now, I will stop buying Heinz Ketchup as a result of this ad. These men & women need to wake up to the sin they are choosing to take part of, repent and ask for forgiveness or suffer an eternity in hell.If Christian conservatists do not wake up and start voting we can kiss America goodbye because the same type of stuff was happening thousands of years ago and God took care of it by destroying the earth then and He will do it again.

The prohibition of establishment of religion was a prohibition against the FEDERAL government. There are cities now establishing islam as a religion simply by virtue of making it almost impossible for anyone who isn't muslim to live there. Prayers five times a day, loudspeakers broadcating the call to prayer and it has to be loud enough to wake people up otherwise what's the point.

Here we have one person coming to a town, voluntarily we presume, who is now intending to dictate to that town. In a better world, he would have been tarred, featherd and run out of town tied to a rail.
