Quote# 41755

Many people can make the argument that the current crop of students growing into adults is one of the worst in recent times. I could think of two equally fitting names for it.

The self-gratification generation, and the entitlement generation (latter applies to many adults too). The future looks bleak because of this generation. When people have to start asking themselves what is right and what is wrong, then you know there are problems. Many people in this day and age will actually question the very basic morality that should be common sense to everyone.

It is no surprise to me then, that this generation is one of the most liberal generations (morally) than any generation before us. It is also one of the most Godless generations, where Church is a routine and not a lifestyle like during their grandparents time.

It only makes sense then to limit the activities of liberals, and destroy their "culture" that is ruining America, and ultimately the world.

Yeah, ask them, and why you're at it, ask the people who killed them what their ACTUAL beliefs were. Anything you hate, label it as Christian, then it's evil. Hey, I'm Christian, you scared of me? I have a question for you, where are you going when you die? Is your tree spirit friend gonna hold a ceremony for you? Or maybe you'll be reincarnated into a rat! lol, sure. Hey, you know the Germans did the whole Holocaust thing, does that mean you hate all Germans to? What about the people that started the slave trade, where's your icon for them? Why just anti-Christian??

I know this sounds paranoid but what if let's say a group of people decided they wanted to do something big, something huge even, let's say they wanted to metaphorically kill God by destroying Religion I mean have you ever noticed that there far more atheists on the internet than you see in real life? were you a Christian when you first started surfing the internet browsing message boards and what not? are you now? have you ever doubted your Religion based on comments atheists have said? bottom line what if all that is a conspiracy? and if you're wondering what this has to do with this article than what if they could use the same methods they use to get you to buy something to turn into an atheist?

This was just a random thought I had today:

Is it possible that everything that has happened/is happening that relates to last days prophecy really be a clever trick by Satan in an attempt to fool believers? We all know that his greatest trick is to imitate the real thing, and what better way than to trick us into believing that our blessed hope was a lie and there is no god by having everything play out like in the Bible (as closely as he can anyway) only Jesus doesn't return?

I really don't think it would be possible, but was hoping for some comments.

[Hah, you don't want to live in a utopia because the bad is necessary for the good. I guess god lets children starve to death every day so you can enjoy your modern medicine and internet connection more.]

Why yes Paul when I think about that I am happy I live here, thank you.

[Oh well, as an atheist I'll never approve of torturing children to death to make my coffee taste better. I guess that sort of thing requires Christian morals.]

[Fundy fight! CuttingEdge claims the Washington Monument is a phallic symbol, but MS believes it's actually a symbol that indicates that America is secretly a theocracy....]

This is absolute hogwash, CuttingEdge. How dare you affront out Christian heritage and suggest that America has Satanic foundations. The Washington Monument is not a pagan obelisk, but a symbol of Christ's reign over humanity. It points upward, towards Heaven, as a reminder that while the President may be the final authority on earth, God is the final authority over all creation and the authority to which even the government is answerable.

Quote# 41648

“I’m rooted in the Christian tradition,” said Obama. He then adds something most Christians will see as universalism: “I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

Falsani correctly brings up John 14:6 (and how many journalists would know such a verse, much less ask a question based on it?) in which Jesus says of Himself, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” That sounds exclusive, but Obama says it depends on how this verse is heard. According to Falsani, Obama thinks that “all people of faith — Christians, Jews, Muslims, animists, everyone — know the same God.” (Her words.)

Evangelicals and serious Catholics might ask if this is so, why did Jesus waste His time coming to Earth, suffering pain, rejection and crucifixion? If there are many ways to God, He might have sent down a spiritual version of table manners and avoided the rest.

Here’s Obama telling Falsani, “The difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and proselytize. There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that if people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior, they’re going to hell.” Falsani adds, “Obama doesn’t believe he, or anyone else, will go to hell. But he’s not sure he’ll be going to heaven, either.” Again, that is contrary to what Evangelicals and most Catholics believe.

Here’s Obama again: “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. When I tuck in my daughters at night and I feel like I’ve been a good father to them, and I see that I am transferring values that I got from my mother and that they’re kind people and that they’re honest people, and they’re curious people, that’s a little piece of heaven.”

Any first-year seminary student could deconstruct such “works salvation” and wishful thinking. Obama either hasn’t read the Bible, or if he has, doesn’t believe it if he embraces such thin theological wisps.

Obama can call himself anything he likes, but there is a clear requirement for one to qualify as a Christian and Obama doesn’t meet that requirement. One cannot deny central tenets of the Christian faith, including the deity and uniqueness of Christ as the sole mediator between God and Man and be a Christian. Such people do have a label applied to them in Scripture. They are called “false prophets.”

Quote# 41679

You're right nate, Christianity and religion are separate and distinct. Christianity focuses on a relationship with Jesus and obedience to him, not to be some yes-man drone in a church.

I think you will find in all religions people that follow the religion and don't really know what they are doing. They are naive and follow what the higher-ups tell them, it's kinda sad really. People are looking for hope, love, and peace and they get taken advantage of-"well if the pope says so then I guess it's true."

There are however people in every religion that are true adherents that are not naive or ignorant. We should be careful in our judgments of who is and isn't a "true" follower. Maybe it's more like who is guided properly and who is misguided.

All I know is the day I accepted Jesus Christ into my life all that emptiness was filled. I no longer need to go out and seek worldly things to fill the hole that was in me.

Quote# 41644

I am still very much convinced that Evolution is simply an idea in some people’s minds and not the reality of the natural world. It is no coincidence that it parallels Christianity so closely - this was where Darwin stole most of “his” ideas.

Both Evolution and Christianity are about the transformation of one species into another. For Christianity it is the creation of the new man. Darwin’s scenario begins with one member being different at birth. This follows Christianity as Jesus was different – being conceived by the Holy Spirit. In Evolution this “mutation” gives the individual an advantage in survival. Having been raised from the dead proves that Jesus was a survivor. Finally in evolution the member of a species are not like this new individual becomes “extinct”. This too follows the Christianity in that those who do not accept Jesus are lost. Please note that none of these ideas are self evident in the natural world. They are read into it by our preconceived ideas.

Even if I am completely wrong - evolution itself points to Jesus as mankind’s savior. We can easily see this by asking the question “from an evolutionary point of view who will transform and “save” mankind?”

[Edited version of a post in the comments section of a Fox article about Dobson's comments about Obama.]

Hello Paster Dobson,

I am very concern with Obama...From his church views and his Rev. Wright and now he has even made up a new Presidental SHIELD. I believe the Church needs to wake up to what is going on here. I truly believe he is the beginning of the path to Christian Perscution, and the end of our Freedom, and even United States...I am going as far as he could be the beginning of the ANTI-CHRIST...People need to wake up and the blinder off...I believe he could step all over the American Flag, and people would still vote for him. Thank you for your time and for your show. Thank you for your true faith in our Lord Jesus...

Sincerely,

I saw on the news that there are some 400 fires in Northern California. It's interesting that many of these fires were sparked by lightning around the time that gay marriages began. It's also interesting that these fires are only in the northern part of the state where the Capital and Supreme Court are that overturned the ban on gay marriage.

Mopsie, because they reject you, look at it as a badge of honor. The closer you walk with Jesus the more friends and family members (who are not like-minded) you will lose. This has happened to me. My very best friend told me she couldn't confide in me because she " either doesn't even know me, or, like who I have turned into." At first this cut deeply, but then the Lord had me read Jesus' words to His disciples where he told them people would hate them because of Jesus. I ended up taking her slam as a badge that I am on the right road.

Why doesn't anyone believe this truth?
i dont know why people wont believe this. this is going to happen and everyone just shurggs it off as a bunch of lies

the reason god doesn't like gays, or asians is because they do not have souls. let me explain. people who do not have souls bare some characteristics of the devil such as bad eyesight and no hair, and average intelligence (asians are good at math and engineering and gays have big vocabularies). the devil creates gays and asians and sends them to earth to convert regular church going humans into atheists and agnostics. after the apocalypse, the devil is going to gather up his army of atheists, agnostics, gays, and asians and is going to launch a full blown checmical/nuclear attack on heaven. now, god knows this, but the devil is very powerful, and works his way around god's powers.

i am trying to save the future generations of us humans to spreading this truth. the more beliver we have, the more chance we have of surviving. how do i make people believe it?
