Quote# 42849

Just came across your site. I've been looking into whether to lean more towards creation or evolution. I think today made up my mind. It's interesting that there is so much talk about creationists being dishonest but the front page USA Today article on the fraudulent archaeoraptor that was hailed by the evolutionists that here was finally the "proof" for evolution, seems to have shown that the fraud is being perpetuated by the evolutionists. I'm sure that you are aware that this is far from the first time that this has happened rather this seems to happen far too often. Evolutionists jump at any supposed evidence for their ideology and then get embarrassed when they have bought into another fraud. With that kind of bias I think I will assume creationism to be at least as valid a theory as the theory of evolution. [email protected].

[On a thread discussing whether one can be saved if one "believes" in evolution. So close....so close...]

If even just one word of Genesis 1 through 2 is wrong or really doesn't mean what it says, then how can a person believe the rest of the Bible? If the foundation isn't there, the whole thing falls apart rather quickly.

Quote# 42894

The popular media often portrays the creation vs. evolution debate as science vs. religion, with creation being religious and evolution being scientific. Unfortunately, if you don't agree with this label, you too are labeled. Regardless of whether you're a creationist or an evolutionist, if you disagree with the stereotype, you're condemned and "exposed" as a religious fanatic who is secretly trying to pass religion off as science or, even worse, trying to disprove science in order to redeem a ridiculous, unscientific, religious worldview. The fact is neither model of origins has been established beyond a reasonable doubt (otherwise, the theory of evolution wouldn't be called the "theory" of evolution).

Besides, our Lord has already settled the question of how to define illegal aliens. In John 10:1, Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber."

Well, I love to sit and think about my heavenly home. What I envision is sitting under a huge tree, I am thinking of maybe the tree of life because it sets alone on a hill overlooking lushes valleys. I am sitting under this tree just talking with Jesus. He lays in the grass with His head proped up on his elbow. I am just talking a mile a minute because I am so thankful to have His complete and interested attention. He is in no hurry for me to just spit it out. He hangs on my every word and the more I talk the more Love He allows me to feel.

[Let's suppose it was murder. Shall we sentence all women who have abortions to 25-life? How about the death penalty?]

Yes.
Knowing that the consequence for murder was the death penalty, if people still commit the crime they accept the punishment.

Quote# 42908

I think it blasphemy to remove God's name from our money, our schools and our lives in general. Our personal beliefs are private, Jew, Christian, Hindu, Buddhism, Muslim etc., to say He does not exist at all is an insult first to Him and a downfall for the consciousness of our country's people. He keeps us alive and we, as a people need to stand up and admit he exists and sustains us whether we attend "church" or not. The philoshies that are now being put forth are those of atheism and anarchy. The abandonmant of "God" in general is creating an atmosphere of real and total destruction, not the attendance to a "church". The message I am getting is that man knows everything and God is passe'. I cannot make a flower grow and water that flower with rain. Can you? Just an example.

Quote# 42876

For me, the 1620s and 30s were a golden age in
American history. Religious pilgrims had arrived
from Europe to start a new life and establish a
holy society in a strange, new world.

We had strong families and communities: Atheists,
Satanists and other social miscreants were burnt
at the stake or dunked under water.

Women and children knew their place and did as
they were told by their betters and elders.

We had a simple but spiritually fulfilling and decent
existence.

Compare that to today with our society in sharp
moral decline. Children abuse their parents and
play obscence video games like "Grand Theft
Auto" and dream about living out all that mindless
violence in reality. Abortion and homosexuality
is rife. Divorce is rampant. Communities are
breaking down.

Need I go on?

Isn't it time we realized that we were much happier
when we had less but were closer to God?

Quote# 42862

The more America moves from biblically morality, the more it comes under the divine curse. The Bible states the blessings God will bring upon the obedient. It also states the curses God will bring upon the disobedient.

For instance, I believe there presently is a divine curse on the White House. Why? Because President George W. Bush placed the Koran in that house's library...

With much fanfare Mr. Bush announced his placing the Koran in the White House library.

Taking biblical data into consideration, one can conclude that God was very angry at that move. I believe He has brought a curse the White House because of placing the Koran alongside the Bible in the White House library. God cannot tolerate those who place other gods alongside Him.

It was this same Mr. Bush who stated to a Muslim that all roads lead to God. Mr. Bush should know better than that, claiming to be a daily Bible reader.

America is in big trouble at the moment and I think only the truly sincere believers understand that. They are interceding for our nation. But the ungodly are pressing more and more for countenanced evil to be blessed throughout our country.

God has made many promises concerning the blessing he has for me. One of the promises that he has made is an incredible miracle that will affect many.... On the day, or night, that God blesses me and I reap my harvest, God will heal every child of on this earth, who suffers from any chronic or serious disease, birth defect or disability. Pediatric wards will empty and children’s hospitals will close. All will know that it is a miracle from God, and many who have turned from him will return. That is only one of the incredible promises that God has made to me.

If you had to choose: Atheist or Jihadist?
Who would you rather your daughter married?

1) The Atheist living down the street.

2) The Jihadi living in his cave.

to agree with the American public and their
sound judgment:

I would prefer a psychotic terrorist over a nihilistic, God-hating atheist for my daughter anyday.

Fundie answer: there is a theory of creationism! if you dont believe it you go to hell.. this is verifiable -> it is written in the bible, the written word of God. Hence, evolution is phoooey.

[For those that believe the earth is only 6,000 years old and do not believe in the Big Bang...?
.... answer these questions for me:

1) What scientific evidence is there that shows the earth is only 6,000 years old?

2) Explain IN DETAIL the scientific evidence that was used to come up with the Big Bang theory. Now after you do that IN DETAIL, tell me why you dismiss it.]

1) Who says scientific evidence means something is true? The only proof for science is more science.

2) Out of infinite randomness for infinite time came the existence of matter because it was infinitely possible to happen eventually.

I dismiss it because I choose not to follow science because it is only proved by what we have already decided we understand, not through faith.

There sure is enough happening in Iran and Russia! Hal Lindsey was on this subject of the EMP from the start. They say if one were exploded, it would take the U.S. or parts of the U.S. back to the early 1800's. Imagine, in a society that gets impatient with a 15 minute blackout, what that would be like. Sometimes I think it would be enjoyable, no annoying cell phones etc., slower pace of life that’s for sure. But I sure would miss the folks on this board! We would surely find out what were made of that’s for sure! No vehicles running- (it would fry the computer chips), or airplanes. Gee's the list goes on. Horses and bikes would be highly valuable. I always pick up extra packets of vegetable seeds, just in case I may have to plant a vegy garden. We should not be so naive as to think this couldn’t happen. As Bibi Netanyahu states, the enemies of Israel refer to the Israel as the "little satan", and the U.S. as the "big satan". If they want to wipe Israel "little satan" off the map, how much more do they want to take out "big satan" the U.S.

[IMO, All these scientific theories that scientists come up with are just as founded on faith with no evidence as any religions.]

Wow, someone else agrees with me.. that's a surprise. To say that we all came from rocks (or from Mars, whichever version of evolution you want to take) takes a great deal of faith to believe. If you can look at some science objectively, without the bias (and very few people do) you can see that there is a LOT of evidence for a FLOOD in the world.... and the whole geographical column is nothing but circular reasoning.. you date the bones by the rock, and you date the rocks by the bones... where is any science in that? I have even heard of a scientist use the word MAGIC to describe how something came to earth.. because using the term MAGIC would fit his theory... honestly, how credible is the guy if he resorts to that kind of logic and belief?
