Quote# 42085

A JW woman can have no position of authority in the congregation. For that matter, if a 12-year-old JW boy is baptized and he is the only male in a group of older women, HE is the one who will offer prayer, and, if they are going out in field service, HE is the one who will make the decisions.

If a JW woman is highly trained in a certain field, and is working with an inexperienced JW male in her field of expertise (as in, perhaps, some sort of building project) SHE will have to acquiesce to the inexperienced male, even though SHE is the one who should, logically, be leading the group.

The first "step up" for a JW male is to be assigned to handle microphones or do some other minimal "privilege" in the congregation. After that, he can be appointed as a Ministerial Servant, and then, possibly an Elder. Within the body of Elders, there are various positions, with Presiding Overseer being the top position at the congregation level.

There are many other titles within the JW hierarchy...all of which are reserved for men.

How many times have you heard someone say:"I'm a Christian but..." and then say something unbiblical?
While in their own mind this person might feel the belief they hold is correct, but when compared to what the Bibles teaches-they are in serious conflict and error. So if you are a Christian, yet any of the following sounds like something that you would say;then you need to start paying more attention to what God tells us in His Word and not what the world and its popular opinions say.

Here are a few of the more common "I'm a Christian but..." statements:

-I believe that God used evolution to create life slowly over time.
-I believe that humans evolved from apes or had an ape-like ancestor millions of years ago.
-I believe humans are animals.
-I believe the great flood of Noah is just a story, and never actually happened.
-I believe the Bible isn't to be taken literally.
-I believe the Bible is just a book of stories or fairy tales.
-I believe the Bible is not actually the words of God.
-I believe the Bible was written only by humans;God was not involved.
-I believe the Bible has been rewritten so many times we can't trust it.
-I don't think the Ten Commandments apply to us today.
-I think the church needs to be more "tolerant".
-I believe the Bible has to be updated to fit our modern society.
-I believe some words/messages in the Bible have been changed or "mistranslated".
-I don't think that homosexuality is sin.
-I support homosexual rights.
-I support homosexual "marriage".
-I believe "love is love", regardless of gender.
-I don't have a problem with abortion.
-I don't believe that hell is real.
-I don't believe that God would send anyone to hell.
-I don't believe Satan or demons are real.
-I believe in Wicca.
-I believe in a "mother earth" type of spirit.
-I believe in reincarnation.
-I believe in ghosts("spirits" of dead humans).
-I don't have a problem with witchcraft.
-I think Halloween is just harmless fun.
-I think certain books/movies/games/TV programs that involve witchcraft are harmless fun.
-I don't have a problem with TV programs that blaspheme the name of God or Christianity.
-I think all pornography is normal.
-I think the ACLU is a good organization.
-I believe there are "many paths" to God.
-I believe there is more then one way to find salvation.
-I believe all religions/beliefs serve the same god.
-I think all religions/beliefs are equal.
-I believe God is whatever you want Him/her/it to be.
-I think truth is whatever you want it to be.
-I don't know if God really exists.
-I believe everyone is going to Heaven in the end.
-I believe there is no actual "right" or "wrong".
-I think having sex outside of marriage is perfectly fine.
-I think having sex with someone is okay, just as long as you "love" them.
-I think it's okay to live together with a person and not be married.
-I think divorce is a good thing.

I believe the Bible is the unfaluable word of God. God told the prophets what to write. word for word. If you don't belive me, that is ok, but also it means you need to get to know your God more. because the God of the Bible speaks to you. He speaks to me all the time. and I do not mean "I felt it" no he really speaks to me. and I belive He did the same to the prophets. well he doesnt tell me the future like the prophets, he just gives me advices here and there. but yes if you really know Him, He talks to you. It is not that hard fro God to say something to the prohets and they writ it down.

Science disproves evolution. eevolution is a fairy tail(and a lame one)
the story of Genesis has hard scientifical evidence.

[„well known base pairs of DNA can randomly change over time, for example by radiation“]

They do change, but when they change they loose information, and that is the opposite of evolution. every scientists knows that, no DNA has new information created ever. they only loose information. and that is the oppositte of evolution.
[...]
there are no transitional fossils. name one.
Just bcecuse a anmila looks alike doesnt mean anything.
when you find a fossil yo do not know anything, all you know is that...it died. that is it!
then what you do is, you try to fit that into your pre assumptions. [...] there isnt a single humanoid fossil. they are all fake and I can prove it. name one.

Also tracks (hooves) of horses were found in the same rocks that dinosaurs were found. So wouldn't that support more of what the bible says(that they were put here at the same time) instead of what earlier paleontologists said in support of their whole evolution theory(that dinasours were here millions of years before horses)?

The diagrams that are illustrated in textbooks show the horse to have once had four toes and to slowly develope into a hoof. But that would contradict the fossil records mentioned above. Even evolution scientist of today call those diagrams of the horse "a comple deception". Anyways regardless of that if a 3 toed horse evolved into a one toed horse then whey are there still 3 toed horses? Horses just have a huge genetic range.

I just do not get the theory. It is always contradicting itself. It's crazy sometimes I think that evolutionist have to live with a bigger faith than Christians HAHA. ;)

Is it necessarily sinful to impose the death penalty? Although I have struggled with this issue for [many] years, my current judgment is that no, it is not. There are some crimes so heinous, I would have no trouble imposing the death penalty and even pulling the switch myself.

[Upon finding out that his girlfriend was an illegal alien]

I never have considered her a selfish person...she always wants to do what is best for me in other situations I have encountered, but this does seem like a selfish act. I talked with my parents and they are devastated...and want me to immediately break off the relationship( my parents are strong Christians). My parents don't know her very well mainly due to the fact that she is a very private person, but they do hold the fact that her parents are Catholics strongly against her. I'm trying to find a Godly way to approach this situation and I personally think that God brought her into my life for a reason and cant bear to part with her. Any advice would be appreciated.

[T]he web-geniuses behind the [AFA]'s OneNewsNow site have a few other tricks up their sleeves, such as automatically replacing any use of the word “gay” with the word “homosexual” in any of the AP stories they run … leading to instances in which proper names are reformatted to meet their ridiculous standard, such as this article about sprinter Tyson Gay winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in which he is renamed “Tyson Homosexual.”

[idiot talking about the new Indiana Jones movie]

Just curious if anyone else felt the eeriness of the Genesis 6 storyline in the movie. What is with Spielberg and his consistent portrayal of the aliens in his movies? Close Encounters, A.I. and now IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull all have the same ending...the same alien type and ship, etc. I couldn't help but wonder after the movie if the Enemy is using him, in part, to condition the world for the return of the days of Noah. Especially the whole point at the end about the "treasure" not being gold, but in fact being "knowledge". That was a direct reference back to Genesis 3, which was "The Lie" that started it all. I just thought it was interesting.

One thing is for sure...I am glad the Church is outta here before the Nephalim return and reveal themselves.

[This guy is fucking nuts!]

Is there a "Final Solution" to the Atheist Problem?
As I see it, we need to move towards religious apartheid:

Atheists and Theists cannot co-exist: There needs to
be separate development.

I am therefore proposing that the Atheists are
evacuated to labor and re-education camps
where they will receive strict Bible instruction
and also do a fair day's work.

Once reservationized, the Atheists can become
decent and normal human being before being
released back into the population as God-fearing
American patriots.

What do you think?

[This is a statement made by u.s.navygirl or whatever her uber-patriotic name is. She claims that there is no "love" involved in homosexuality. Of course, in her usual fashion, she didn't really provide any reasons why. I'm hoping she does when she reads this, because I'm really curious as to why she feels that way.]

I Did Give My Reason,
Its Because I Think Homosexuality Is A Phase.

[Phases don't last peoples' entire lives, you know. So how do you explain all of the people who are homosexual (or bisexual or transsexual) for their entire lives?]

I Think People That Stay Gay Their Whole Lives Have Some Kind Of Mental Problem.

[What evidence do you have to support that opinion of yours?]

I Dont Think Anyone Has Done A Study On It, Its Just My Opinion.

[Why do you hold that opinion, then, if it can't even be proven to be true?]

In Most Cases I Think It Is A Phase, In Others I Think Its A Mental Problem.

[But why do you think that, though? Doesn't the fact that there is no actual proof of that tell you about how true (or, well, untrue) that opinion is?]

No.

The fight against the device reached a new level last week, when an MP4 supplier, whose store is located on the outskirts of Jerusalem's Meah Shearim neighborhood, found it vandalized – its window and showcases smashed.

A second store, located just off the capital's Shabbat Square, did not fare much better: It too was vandalized and its repair lab burnt down. Some say that was an event waiting to happen: For several weeks prior to the arson, a dozen-or-so yeshiva student used to demonstrate in front of the store every week and protest the sale of the banned devices.

The storeowners even found pashkevilim (informative ads or posters often plastered in the Jerusalem's religious neighborhoods) distributed against them: "A terrible plague is upon us, calming victims every day… these sinful devices were banned by all the great rabbis, but are still common in the haredi world… their devilish distributors want nothing more than to drive the people of Israel to sin, through movies and other abominations," read the ads.

Another pashkevil, by the "association for the saving of the youth in the Holy Land," informed the public about a rabbis and an Orthodox Righteous Court of Law ordinance banning MP4 devices all together: "This little device is the devil's way to try and gain entrance to our protected homes and yeshivas, disguised as something you can listen to Torah lessons through," it said.

Ynet has learned that the Orthodox Righteous Court of Law had, indeed, held a session on MP4 devices. The court ruled that the devices must be banned and issued a warning to all vendors not to stock them, saying those who do "will be subject to a court hearing," and giving vendors three week to comply with its ruling.

[A little taster from an article of a magazine which calls itself pompously "Real Truth Magazine"]

Why is evolution cemented in the minds of many as fact, when it is nothing more than theory?

How did this occur?

Certain aspects of evolution may be confusing and difficult to understand. Do not be surprised! The rationale invented to support evolution is bewildering and complicated. It is tiresome and boring. Certain facts are conveniently left behind, and tedious scholarly language is used to stop most people from examining the subject in detail. Left frustrated, most assume evolution to be fact.

This series will demystify the subject. You will know if evolution is science fact or science fiction. Convoluted and illogical theories will be simplified in a way never before presented. While some sections are technical, the more detail given, the better you will be able to see through the theory’s “smoke and mirrors.” Clear and simple logic always destroys ill-conceived suppositions.

Once evolution is dismantled, you will be left with many questions—and serious implications.
