I am NOT voting for Obama. That is based upon his political beliefs.

If I found out he was a Born-Again Believer in Jesus Christ, I would still NOT vote for him.

After 52 years of life, I have learned a few things.

Abortion of any kind is MURDER.
Gays are not married, no matter how long they have lived together or "love" each other.
We were right to go into Afghanistan and Iraq and should stay until the job is done.
Whenever the government runs things, they screw it up. I do NOT want "universal healthcare"
There is NO separation of Church and State in the US Constitution.
I do NOT want Hillary Clinton to become a US Supreme Court Justice.

Quote# 43347

I found out last week that my daughter will have a teacher next year in 5th grade that I’m almost positive is a lesbian. I mean, we live in a pretty small community in Texas where everybody knows everybody else and everybody’s business and it’s been gossip for years, even though I don’t think she’s actually out of the closet or anything. She doesn’t really look like a lesbian, not what you’d consider butch or anything, she’s actually really pretty and feminine, and she’s always been nice whenever I’ve had to deal with her, which really hasn’t been much, just in passing. BUT … she’s lived with the same woman for several years (the woman she lives with is a police detective and she definitely looks like a typical lesbian), and its common knowledge around our town that they’re “together” in that way.

I don’t know what to do, and this has been REALLY bugging me since I found out. I am NOT accepting of the homosexual lifestyle and I think it is completely repulsive and wrong. Honestly, I don’t even think gays should be allowed to be teachers in my opinion. Just too much potential for something bad to happen and too much wrong influence, if you ask me. I don’t want my daughter to think its ok to be gay, and I’m afraid if she likes her teacher, she’ll think that kind of lifestyle is ok when it’s not. The problem is, I don’t think this woman is officially out of the closet, either, even though everybody knows she’s probably gay, even the kids talk about it, so I’m not sure if I should make a big deal about it or not. I did mention to the principal that I wasn’t real happy with my daughter’s placement but he just brushed me off and told me that this teacher was an excellent teacher and that her students test scores were some of the highest in the school and that I should be lucky that my daughter will have her. He also told me class placements wouldn’t be changed. I would send my daughter to a private Christian school but there’s no way I can afford that and we can’t afford to homeschool either because me and my husband both have to work. I would love to be able to stay home and homeschool, but that is not going to happen anytime soon. Not working just isn’t an option for me right now. I also thought about maybe changing school districts but found out they’re pretty strict about letting people do that because of overcrowding, so that’s not going to happen either. My daughter is in a good public school, probably one of the best in our area, I just don’t know about this teacher.

The more I think about it, the worse feeling I have about it. Part of me thinks I’m overreacting, but part of me also thinks if I don’t stand up and object to this, nobody else will. And then what if something happens to my daughter or if she winds up thinking its ok to be gay? I just don’t know anymore. Any advice?

[The Bible] doesn't contradict itself. You need to have full understanding of the Bible to understand it. The Bible is inerrant, any Christian would say that because we/they have understanding of the Bible. And we are telling you to read the Bible so YOU and others can have understanding of it! And because we care for you! We don't want you to suffer in hell for eternity!

Could we please dispense with any patronizing nonsense about Darwin being less than the messiah of a materialistic religion that pretends to find its justification in science. (Texas legislators want to add Bible courses to the public school curriculum. I guess they want to make Texas a redder state if possible.)

In testimony to the Texas House Education Committee last week, the author of HB 1287, Republican Rep. Warren Chisum, revealed an evangelizing interest in the legislation. "If we don't have a moral people, our laws are not sufficient to govern an immoral body of people," he said, according to an editorial in the San Antonio Express-News.

He also said: "I would hope that we get a better-prepared student to go out into the world and understand what they believe, ... how it's [this country] put together, why we are different from some others on this planet.

"The United States doesn't have more resources, but we do better. A lot of it's because of what's written in that book, because we have a moral standard. Not everybody has a moral standard," Chisum added, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

As chair of the chamber's appropriations committee, Chisum is the second most important member of the Texas House. In February he circulated a memo to all his colleagues condemning evolution as a long-secret Jewish religious text (information he obtained from the fixedearth.com website).

Chisum's co-author and fellow Republican, Rep. Leo Berman of Tyler told a local television station he does not believe in the separation of church and state. Reported KLTV:

Representative Leo Berman says, "Today, with Christian symbols being taken out of everything, off our county squares, manger scenes, crosses, I think it's time that we put something back, and give kids who want to study the Old and New Testament an option on campus to actually elect that to study."

"I don't believe there's such a thing as the separation of church and state. In fact, the First Amendment to the Constitution actually calls on the United States Congress to make sure, to ensure that people are allowed to practice their religion," says Berman.

Berman recently gained notoriety by proposing the denial of all government services to the citizen children of undocumented immigrants.

The deep thinker theorize that there are possible 10 dimensions but we only see three them. (sight, sound, touch) If they are able to crack the mystery of the "god particle" we could access the other dimensions and create something out of nothing. "We would be as gods" Does that phrase seemed familiar"

If the god particle does not exist here, it must some other place. Like Heaven, maybe!?!

Back in the Old Testament, when the Jews did their own thing, God simply killed them. Thanks to Jesus' sacrifice for us, today we don't get killed when we stray from God's Word. We can stray to our heart's content. We all have the choice to believe whatever we want and however we want - but we'd also better be prepared to explain "why" on Judgment Day, because God isn't going to let us off the hook:

You see, the evolutionists have to hide their preposterous theory, behind miiillions and biiilions of years because the tell-tale signs of a fairytale are "looong ago, and far away" and that's where they hide their theory, because they know the human mind can't comprehend millions of years all that well.

[An article slamming Girl Scouts for not being about the Christian God.]

For years, the Girl Scouts offered young girls an opportunity to honor God and develop useful and practical skills. Today, the emphasis seems to have shifted to the adults who will serve as "guides" after having been indoctrinated with New Age beliefs through Ashland's "Coming into Your Own" personal development program. You can only imagine what some of the "outcomes" of these new life journeys will be.

While the scouting experience largely depends on the mindset of local leaders, even with the best of leaders, this curriculum will be in the hands of the girls. Therefore, for many, compromises have to be made in order to coexist with the national goals, tradition and programs.

The God of the Bible is a jealous God. He is all-powerful. We are to seek His will for our lives and live by His values, not create our own.

Quote# 43237

I have had some people on-line ask why a loving God would send someone to hell and I tell them the need for a savior and how God loves us so much that he has taken the penalty we couldn't pay by sending his son, etc. Instead of being calm, a great deal of the time, they react very offensively, rude and angry with the Good news.

They begin to bash me and say that I'm forcing my beliefs down their throats and I think I'm superior, that I'm delusional and stupid and all kinds of profanity. All that because I answered them and shared the truth.

I know the bible says that we will be persecuted.. I don't know.. Maybe I'm just feeling a bit down. I know I should rejoice in persecution. It's just that It's kind of shocking and secretly, insulting and heartbreaking that they treat me that way. I wonder if I really have come off as judgemental or something and get worried about being a good witness for Christ.

Any support on this would be wonderful. Is this to be an expected kind of thing when sharing the Gospel? What should one avoid doing when witnessing to someone?

(Why do some people act so angry with the Gospel?)

The question could also be asked why a bank robber gets upset with the police?...Its because they are in the wrong and don't want to be held accountible for what they have done...In keeping it simple some people get angry, and offended at just the mention of God, its because deep down whether they understand it or not they get convicted of there sins...I have noticed when a sinner is heavily convicted they either rebell, or repent..Sadly many choose to rebell.

it is our own tax dollars with which we are forced to:

fund abortions which we are adamantly opposed to
fund art that directly blasphemes are God
fund the promotion of promiscuity in the school system with birthcontrol and condoms passed out like candy.
fund the spread of the theory of evolution and "alternative lifestyles"
fund the commission of secular "missionaries" to strongarm other countries to promote abortion overseas

and we are all but denied our freedom of speech in school, at graduations, and we are hounded and labeled at bigots if we voice our opinions in any way??? What kind of bullying is this? Who are the REAL bullies in our society today? And what can atheists possibly have to complain about in this regard??

[Question on Yahoo Answers]

Aethiests arent you worried about your afterlife?
"life is short."

I'm just curious, because if you guys don't believe in God aren't you like insanely terrified of death?
Logically thinking, one would be horrified being an anthiest and dying especially if you dont believe in anything. you have no idea of where you'd be going. And, ampethetically speaking, if those Christians were right then you'd be doomed for an eternity in hell. (longer than a million times the time spent on Earth)

So my question is as an Aethiest arent you worried about having to inevitably step into the unknown (death)? and what do you think will happen?

Christian Voice nutter, Stephen Green, has been noted arguing a particularly reprehensible line of reasoning. You don't get much lower than this.

From the Guardian:

On Sunday evening, a lone campaigner stood outside St Mary's church, Putney. Stephen Green, a haggard and unshaven figure, obsessed and weighed down by the wickedness of modern Britain, handed out leaflets warning of the consequences of same-sex love, while announcing to anyone who would listen: "Homosexuality and sexual immorality is all on a continuum with paedophilia, bestiality, adultery, child-sacrifice. You are saying it is all OK."
