Can anybody give me a truthful reason why they are atheist or agnostic?

Is it because you are so rebellious and prideful that nothing can be smarter more powerful and loved more than you or is it because you just have a hard time beleiving truth without seeing? no disrespect intended but I'd really like to know.

Carlin was always acting like a bitter old man and people call that "funny." I saw the act "Religion is b. s." and "abortion," and there was no humor, just sarcastic support for his own wicked ways. The "invisible man in the sky" came down and took on human form in the person of Jesus Christ. Yet, Carlin rejected the faith which has as its symbol "a guy nailed to two pieces of wood." Carlin also thought he could improve the ten commandments. Well, first of all, that guy nailed to two pieces of wood wanted to atone for Carlin's sins so he wouldn't be judged by them on the other side of the grave. And with respect to the ten commandments, Carlin perpertrated the idiocy of juwes by observing the letter of the law and ignoring the spirit of the law. For, if you loved God and neigbhor, you wouldn't break the commandments. For love is the heart of the commandments. God says He sees no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Carlin was a foolish man, and we can only hope he repented before he died.

I don't like tv, but I do like to have the news programs available. Have any of you noticed that even Fox News (what I would call the most conservative news network) goes out of their way to show some non-newsworthy event, so they can slip in nudity? I'm so tired of seeing naked bodies on the news. If some average Joe (or should I say "Joanne") in some average town anywhere shows off her b***s, Fox News is going to somehow have a camera stuck in front of her. This isn't news. I'm thinking a few of the hosts are d.o.m. I've taken to calling the network "Fox Nudes Network". That's disgusting.

Quote# 44294

You don't need an "academic citation" to recognize the logical meaning behind something, unless you are totally illogical.

First, I am convinced that the universe exists.

Second, either the universe has always been in existence, or it had a beginning.

If the universe has always been in existence, then (according to known and proven laws of science), the universe would have died out by now.

The fact that the universe is still here only demonstrates that the universe isn't old enough to have died out.

If the universe isn't old enough to die out by now, that implies that the universe has NOT always been here.

The fact that the universe IS here, and has NOT always been in existence implies that there was a time in which the universe did NOT exist.

If there was a time in which the universe did not exist, then the universe would continue to not exist.

If the universe DOES exist, which it does, then either nothing had to create everything, or something (or SomeOne) who transcends this universe, exists outside the framework of our MEST universe (MEST = Matter, Energy, Space and Time) must have existed outside of time and it was this Someone who created the universe.

Therefore, either the universe does not exist, or nothingness created everything, or God created everything. Since the atheist doesn't believe in God, then the only other option is that nothing created something.

LOGIC!

The galaxies are spinning. They are turning around. But the stars in the middle of the galaxies are going faster than the stars at the outside, which means if the galaxies were billions of years old, they would have lost their spiral shape and yet all of them are spiral shaped galaxies. So if their trying to tell you that stars are billions of years old, they are simply mistaken they cannot possibly be, they had to be created.

The Beatles are straight from Hell, which is where John Lennon and George Harrison are suffering in tormentuous flames this moment. Don't believe it? Then you don't believe the Bible... "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power" (2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9). John Lennon publicly denounced Jesus Christ, as did George Harrison. Harrison was deeply devoted to eastern mysticism (false religion), and rejected Jesus Christ as his Savior.

Ringo Star and Paul McCartney will soon follow behind into Hellfire.

The Garden of Eden was located in the realm that God and the angels dwell in, which wasn't in the physical realm on Earth. There was a stargate that was the entrance and exit between the two realms. The angel that guarded this entrance and exit didn't really have a flamming sword but one like the light saber in Star Wars, which resembled a flamming sword to keep Adam and Eve from re-entering the stargate to return to the realm of God. I would imagine it would also prevent water from entering it if God wanted to keep it out.

"About slavery all the answers are in the bible for you. Slaves are told to be obedient to their masters, and masters are told to be fair to their slaves. The bible does not say slavery is wrong. And I don't believe its wrong if it's done in a godly way. In biblical times, slaves did actually benefit from slavery because they had nothing to live on. I myself am a slave of Christ, I was bought by the blood of Jesus. I do not do my will but my master's will. Non Christians are slaves of their master, the Devil. Every person is a slave anyway."

[About a news article using the word "rapture"]

Just curious-does the secular world have a different meaning of the word "rapture"? For example-in the secular world, 777 means "lucky", while Christians interpret it as The Cross.

Either way-I always wonder too-maybe God allowed this word to be put into this article to let us know the end is right around the corner?

When a caller pointed out that World War II was motivated in substantial part by a "survival of the fittest" ideology, Dawkins pretended to be completely baffled. He proclaimed the caller's reference "absolute nonsense." Yet Richard Weikart's book From Darwin to Hitler provides extensive documentation that the Nazis repeatedly invoked Darwinian evolution and that Nazi doctrine used "survival of the fittest" as a virtual recruiting phrase. So Dawkins is either historically ignorant or wilfully obtuse.

"If Adam and Eve were the first humans, are we all inbred?"

If their genes were perfect then that isn't a problem. Note that according to Genesis Eve was effectively Adam's semi-identical twin sister: she was his flesh in the most complete sense (to be "one flesh" is part of the Christian notion of marriage).

Indeed the prohibition against brothers and sisters marrying is practical rather than intrinisic: genes are no longer perfect and so close relatives can't get away with it. There would have been no problem with Adam and Eve's kids marrying each other.

Catholics, for example, can marry their first cousins with the permission of their bishop (who examines their family tree).

Is the Obama the Luicfer's John the Baptist?

We known two Trinities.

The Holy Trinity:
God the Father
Jesus Christ
Holy Ghost

The Unholy Trinity:
Satan/Luicfer/Devil
Anti-Christ
The Beast

We all know that Satan has Demons(fallen angels) and God has Angels.

So I think Obama is the one who will prave the way for the Anti-Christ. If Obama get elected.
So I think Obama is the John the Baptist for the Anti-Christ.

He's a Mulism, he'd won't swear on the Holy Bible and he'd won't pledge to the USA Flag.
That sounds fishy.

[Thread title: Is God trying to fake Satan out?]

I find it interesting that there have been times in the past where there were all kinds of neon arrows pointing to a date as the rapture, but it didn't happen.

For instance, it was exactly 14,000 days from the capturing of Jerusalem to Oct. 3, 2005 (the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the feast of which "no man knows the hour"). Over Jerusalem, the night sky was perfectly aligned as described in Rev. 12. On Oct. 3, there was an earthquake on the Mount of Olives. Forty days prior, one of the biggest natural disasters of our generation occurred when Katrina hit. The prior December, there was another huge event with "roaring and tossing of the seas" causing "perplexity" among the nations in the southeast Asia tsunami.

You had this scripture almost perfectly spelled out:

{Luke 21:25-28}

My point being, does God make dates look good to throw Satan off? Is it important that Satan not know when the rapture will occur?

I wonder if that also is why it appears the 6,000 years of man apparently has already come and gone. My thought is that perhaps God doesn't want Satan to know the time, and for that reason he has added some time to the 6,000 years.

What are your thoughts on this?

Quote# 44261

Question:Why did God choose circumcision as a means to keep a covenant?

Answer:

This part of a man's body is about consummation of a covenant with a mate and it is the most sensitive part of the male body. Sensitivity and covenant are required by God to make sure there is no FLESH prohibiting contact in that spiritual process. When the foreskin is pushed back the full vulnerable part of the contact point is revealed and exposed. Nothing hidden or held back! Spirituality and sexuality cannot be separated.., although it can be adulterated and perverted. Men and women become one flesh in sexual intimacy as God and man become one in spiritual intimacy of asking Jesus to come into our heart and receiving Him.
On day eight, the baby boy has a certain chemical in the body so the body doesn't bleed excessively nor feel pain as on any other day. Also, the #8 means "new beginnings" in spiritual terms. Not a mystery to us but a revelation. Genesis 17: 9-14

"The Earth is, more or less, a disc," he states. "Obviously it isn't perfectly flat thanks to geological phenomena like hills and valleys. It is around 24,900 miles in diameter."

[...]

And what about the fact that no one has ever fallen off the edge of our supposedly disc-shaped world?

Mr McIntyre laughs. "This is perhaps one of the most commonly asked questions," he says. "A cursory examination of a flat earth map fairly well explains the reason - the North Pole is central, and Antarctica comprises the entire circumference of the Earth. Circumnavigation is a case of travelling in a very broad circle across the surface of the Earth."

Mr Davis, a 25-year-old computer scientist originally from Canada, first became interested in flat earth theory after "coming across some literature from the Flat Earth Society a few years ago".

"I came to realise how much we take at face value," he says. "We humans seem to be pleased with just accepting what we are told, no matter how much it goes against our senses."

Mr Davis now believes "the Earth is flat and horizontally infinite - it stretches horizontally forever".

"And it is at least 9,000 kilometres deep", he adds.
