As part of a class assignment, students at UW-Eau Claire filmed a series of documentaries at a Gay Pride event in San Francisco, and then organized a “LGBTQ Film Festival” on campus to display their work. To generate publicity, they sent an email request to various departments asking to post fliers for the event.

This was the IS Department Chair's response.

I urge you to reconsider your plan to advertise last summer's San Francisco gay pride event.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Area, I was sad to see the problems of prejudice and discrimination my gay friends endured, but I also see quite clearly that homosexual behavior damages its participants, their loved ones, and the communities that sanction it.

I applaud reminders that people who identify themselves as gay or lesbian are people, fellow humans who deserve affection and respect. However, I decry attempts to legitimize their addictions and compulsions. These, our fellow humans, deserve our best efforts to help them recover their lives. We only hurt them further when we choose to pretend that these walking wounded are OK the way they are, that their present injuries are the best they can hope for in life.

[re: repeal of DADT]

If you have gays in the military....who will be permitted to shower with the straight men, or with other gay men...then you MUST also allow the straight men to shower with the women. Let's be consistent here. The main thing about gays in the military is the fact that it's pretty damn uncomfortable to be showering and bunking with a dude who wants to do you in the ass, if even in his own thoughts. It's a distraction. When I see co-ed showers...then I'll be ok with the gay thing too. All they have to do is keep it to themselves. Is that so difficult, considering it's against the code to have sex with a fellow soldier anyway?

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins recognized National Coming Out Day by blaming recent youth suicides on the gay community in an online column for The Washington Post.

“Some homosexuals may recognize intuitively that their same-sex attractions are abnormal — yet they have been told by the homosexual movement, and their allies in the media and the educational establishment, that they are ‘born gay’ and can never change,” he wrote. “This — and not society's disapproval — may create a sense of despair that can lead to suicide.”

Quote# 76920

The Bible teaches the contrary: the earth is special. Earth is unique among all the worlds that the Lord created. The description of creation as recorded in Genesis 1 makes this abundantly clear. Five of the six days of creation are spent creating and forming the earth and the life on it. Only one day is spent creating the other objects in the universe. Undoubtedly, the earth is different.

In fact, the earth is three days older than any of the other planets and stars in the universe.8 The earth was made on the first day of creation; God made it in the beginning (Genesis 1:1). The lights in the sky were made on the fourth day of creation. These lights are the sun, moon, and stars (both the “true” stars and the “wandering stars”—planets). Perhaps the Lord created the earth first to show its special significance in His divine plan.

Clearly, other planets do exist. There are several other planets in our own solar system besides earth, and astronomers have detected quite a number of planets orbiting other stars, and yet, our ability to detect extra-solar planets is still quite limited. It therefore seems very likely that there are countless billions of planets which have yet to be detected, but these planets are not merely accidents of nature. God created all these worlds for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11) and to declare His creative wisdom and glory to us. Since the other planets serve a different purpose than the earth, we expect that the planets will be different in nature than the earth. Science has certainly confirmed this biblical expectation

[Fundy is responding to a quiz about religions, which atheists do better on than others]

There is a world of difference between the FACTS about a religion, and the faith that inspires it. It is not surprising that atheists know more facts, because they use them to mock the faithful.

To put it another way, take a parent and a child. The child may not be able answer questions about their parent's history, and they may not even know things that they should. But the love they have for their parent is real even if it cannot be proven.

I despise your quiz because it shifts the focus from faith to fact, without any appreciation of the larger whole.

We must stop pandering to the pornographers and the perverts who seek to target our children and destroy their lives. I didn’t march in the gay parade this year — the gay pride parade — this year. My opponent did. And that’s not the example that we should be showing our children, and certainly not in our schools.

And don’t misquote me as wanting to hurt homosexual people in any way. That would be a dastardly lie. My approach is ‘live and let live.’ I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family. And I don’t want them to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option – it isn’t.

My parents live in Dearborn Michigan. Sharon Angle's info is absolutely correct. The mayor said the opposite because they have taken over so much of the city they he is scared silly that if he didn't say what he did they would riot!
We visited my parents the Saturday before 9/11 and I had to go to KMart for some fish food for my children's pet beta. Every Muslim in the town must have been at the super KMart--it was almost all black because of all the abayas/chadors the women wore. It didn't dawn on me till weeks after 9/11 which was the following Tuesday that they were buying food to hunker down before the attack.

And I think that in fact they do obey sharia there. I saw the footage of the Christians witnessing at that fair. They weren't harrassing anyone but they were being harrassed by the Muslims.

I'd vote for Sharon Angle in a heartbeat.

And Communism will rule America and the world(the cry of the world a few decades back). Just because things are heading in a particular direction does not mean that it will happen that way. You have two big powers on a collision course, radial Islam vs the decadence of the West. Both Islam and homosexuality are gaining in America, and both are totally opposed to each other. We do not have a gay president today but we do have a Muslim president, so I would not bet too much on the gay crowd.

(responding to a poster who asked what she would do if one of her kids was gay)

This is a hypothetical question. What would you do if you found out your child is a child molester or mass murderer? Homosexuals are on the same (or worse) level of depravity. I would be absolutely disgusted with them and not want to socialize with them any more than I would want to socialize with the other examples given.

But how likely do you think it is for your child to grow up and be a Hitler or a sex predator? Do you think raising such a monster would be avoidable if you did your job as a parent right? According to the Bible, only unbelievers can become homos, because they have rejected God and hate Him. In turn, God turns His back on them, and they become the dirty animals that they are because they are only following their wicked, perverted hearts.

Our children grow up with the Bible as their guide from birth. At a young age, as soon as they are old enough to understand, they make their own choice to believe on God and become Christians, thereby making it impossible to ever become a reprobate. The reason why so many kids grow up in Christian homes and turn out fags is because they never get saved to begin with because they might be hearing a confusion of the gospel, such as that they need to "give up their sins" in order to be saved. Add to that the fact that most churches push their nurseries, day cares, and Christian schools, many of which are teeming with predators, and there is a good chance that the child will end up getting molested, and thus hating and rejecting anything they perceive as having to do with God, religion, or church.

[Re: the Presidential seal falling off the podium at a speech made by Obama]

I don't believe in coincidence. Some things happen because the Lord influences them. Other things happen because the Lord allows demonic forces to have their way.

In this case, I'd say the Lord caused that seal to fall. If we could see 10 years into the future we would probably know exactly why He chose to do that. All I can say is this...He loves the righteous and orders their steps. He causes the wicked to fall and He destroys them. Barack Obama is not a Christian and I would personally classify him as someone God considers wicked.

One other thing...when Barack Obama spoke at Notre Dame, he made them take down the cross. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't God's way of notifying Obama that God can take him and his presidency down very easily.

Quote# 76798

[Gene Cranick's rural Tennessee home was allowed to burn to the ground by the fire department because he never paid a $75 fee for being just outside of the city limits.]

The fire department did the right and Christian thing. The right thing, by the way, is also the Christian thing, because there can be no difference between the two. The right thing to do will always be the Christian thing to do, and the Christian thing to do will always be the right thing to do.

If I somehow think the right thing to do is not the Christian thing to do, then I am either confused about what is right or confused about Christianity, or both.

In this case, critics of the fire department are confused both about right and wrong and about Christianity. And it is because they have fallen prey to a weakened, feminized version of Christianity that is only about softer virtues such as compassion and not in any part about the muscular Christian virtues of individual responsibility and accountability.

The Judeo-Christian tradition is clear that we must accept individual responsibility for our own decisions and actions. He who sows to the flesh, we are told, will from the flesh reap corruption. The law of sowing and reaping is a non-repealable law of nature and nature’s God.

We cannot make foolish choices and then get angry at others who will not bail us out when we get ourselves in a jam through our own folly. The same folks who are angry with the South Fulton fire department for not bailing out Mr. Cranick are furious with the federal government for bailing out Wall Street firms, insurance companies, banks, mortgage lenders, and car companies for making terrible decisions. What’s the difference?

Mr. Cranick made a decision - a decision to spend his $75 on something other than fire protection - and thereby was making a choice to accept the risk that goes with it. He had no moral, legal, ethical or Christian claim on the services of the fire department because of choices that he himself made.

The "Democracy is Totally Gay" Award

Quote# 76795

It should be remembered that ‘democracy’ was originally advocated by the philosophers Plato and Socrates, both homosexual pedophiles. Some contend that these historical facts are irrelevant. There are others who claim that, because of this, democracy is inherently homosexual. This may well be the case. Consider the fact that, just recently, the people of Canada and Spain, along with quite a few other democratic Christian nations, actually voted in favor of same sex marriages. For the first time in more than 2,000 years, the State was now allowed to sanction sodomy as an individual right and to give explicit approval and encouragement to the act of anal sex.

David Barton, the evangelical Christian founder of the group Wallbuilders, thinks that the federal government should regulate gay sex the way it does alcohol, cigarettes, and certain harmful food ingredients.

“… So if I got to the Centers for Disease Control and I’m concerned about health, I find some interesting stats there and this should tell me something about health,” said Barton.

“Homosexual/bi-sexual individuals are seven times to contemplate or commit suicide. Oooh, that doesn’t sound very healthy,” he cooed.

“Homosexuals die decades earlier than heterosexuals. That doesn’t sound healthy.

“Nearly one-half of practicing homosexuals admit to five hundred or more sex partners and nearly one-third admit to a thousand or more sex partners in a lifetime," said Barton.

Quote# 76750

Health Care Law Violates All Ten Commandments

This one law violates all of the Ten Commandments. Let's work our way backwards:

#10. You shall not covet.

As with many bills, politicians sold ObamaCare by stoking envy. It goes like this: "What other people own — what they earned — you are entitled to." Covetousness, wanting what others have, is cloaked as a "right." But a "right" to a product (like insurance) or service (like health care) means others are forced to pay for or provide it, with no concurrent "right" to be justly compensated.

#9. You shall not bear false witness.

Remember when President Obama made the wild accusation that doctors were removing children's tonsils and amputating diabetic patients' feet to make money? Virtually no mainstream media found it worth reporting that Obama's malicious false witness was debunked.

#8. You shall not steal.

Stealing is not only pointing a gun and demanding, "Give me your money." It's also taking money under false pretenses — frauds and scams like Bernie Madoff's, where money willingly handed over is used for something other than what was promised. You know where the bulk of the money taken for ObamaCare through taxes, fines, and raiding other accounts will go -- not to actual health care or insurance, but to 159 new bureaucracies, and tens of thousands of new government employees.

#7. You shall not commit adultery.

ObamaCare channels millions of dollars to graphic sex education programs which instruct kids as young as kindergartners to be sexually active. Read what some of the comprehensive sex education programs teach. This sets children up to take marriage vows lightly since "it's just sex."

#6. You shall not murder.

ObamaCare allows government funding of abortion, the murder of the most innocent.

#5. Honor your father and mother.

As parents age, it oftentimes falls on their children to make their health care decisions. It can be heart-wrenching. But it is our responsibility and duty as their children. Under ObamaCare, that privilege will be stripped from us and given to unaccountable bureaucrats. They will ultimately decide what health care our parents can get. Medical advances will be stymied, and what is available will be rationed. The elderly will be denied hip replacements and heart surgeries, medical wonders that provide full and productive lives. This will lead to unnecessary disabilities and untimely deaths. Parents will be at the mercy of bureaucrats tasked with calculating costs, rather than a family motivated by love and honor.

#4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Why was Congress compelled to hold the final vote on ObamaCare on a Sunday? No looming deadline demanded immediate action by the House of Representatives. It's as if they went out of their way to thumb their noses at God and prove their disrespect. The Senate vote was held on Christmas Eve.

#3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

Many people limit this to avoiding using God's name as a curse word. Jewish scholars, however, so solemnly followed this commandment that they wouldn't even write out the full name of God. They were cautious not to take His name lightly. President Obama gave a pen with which he signed ObamaCare to Sister Carol Keehan, the nun who runs the Catholic Health Association. Why? Her seal of approval appeared to give a Catholic blessing to a bill that her superiors, the bishops, rejected. Among the "Religious Left" credited by Nancy Pelosi were United Methodists and the "Faithful Reform in Health Care," a coalition of liberal religious agencies. Their titles as religious leaders, ambassadors of God, were shameless props used by politicians to give the thin veneer of God's approval. In effect, they used God's name, His reputation, to promote something that contradicts His commandments.

#2. You shall not make for yourself a carved image (false gods).

What do those who worship false gods do? They sacrifice to those gods, even despicable gods, in hopes that they will get something in return. Of course, these gods can't deliver. ObamaCare became a holy grail that surpassed a desire for health care reform, morphing into an obsession to pass a bill. Congressmen sacrificed their reputations and careers to pass a bill — a despised bill. It became a false god. And it isn't delivering.

#1. There is only one God.

ObamaCare sets up government as the one who will supply our needs and provide for our health. It places us on the path of socialist countries, where people expect the government to provide for them and then riot when governments cut bloated spending. In contrast, Americans throw Tea Parties to stop government expansion and spending. Most Americans know that their faith is better-placed in the true God who loves them more than any government official can. Propaganda and promises — even from Obama's religious leaders — will not overcome Americans' objections to ObamaCare. And we have good biblical reasons.

(The mangal sutra is the Hindu equivalent of a wedding ring and is either a chain of black beads or a yellow thread tied around a woman's neck by her husband on her wedding day. A rakhi is a bracelet tied by sisters on their brothers' wrists to signify the sibling bond).

After their recent attack on young women at a Mangalore pub, the Sri Ram Sene has now announced an action plan to target couples found dating on February 14, Valentine’s Day.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik, who is now on bail, said Sene activists across Karnataka would not only hold protests outside colleges, hostels and hotels, where Valentine’s Day celebrations are held, but also forcibly marry off couples found dating in public.

“Our activists will go around with a priest, a turmeric stub and a ‘mangal sutra’ on February 14. If we come across couples being together in public and expressing their love, we will take them to the nearest temple and conduct their marriage,” he said. "If the couples resisted the move, the girl would be forced to tie a ‘rakhi’ to the boy."

Furthermore, these are very sensitive subjects that jr. high students are not mature enough to handle unless guided with parental and spiritual support. Can you imagine the outrage if I had posted a picture of George Bush and had the class read a book authored by David Duke on the virtues of racial superiority and the Aryan Race?!!! I may seem "intolerant", fine, I will not tolerate a teacher who isn't conducting his class in a professional manner but uses it as a platform to "educate" the students with his ideology. I apologize if this seems like a "rant". My children have been given to me by God and I have the responsibility to provide and protect them to the best of my ability. In turn, I have entrusted them to ***** Charter School and given that I can no longer trust the administration to be a "trustee" I have come to this decision
