Controversial crucifix creates rift at Warr Acres church

WARR ACRES — Churchgoers are outraged over a crucifix in a Catholic church that they say shows an image of genitalia on Jesus.

The controversial crucifix has caused a deep divide among members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where it hangs above the main altar.

"There are a couple people who have left the parish,” said the Rev. Philip Seeton, the church’s pastor. "There are people in the parish who don’t like it and have stayed.”

Critics of the crucifix take issue with what appears to be a large penis covering Jesus’ abdominal area. Seeton said the portion of the crucifix in question is meant to be Jesus’ abdomen "showing distension” — not a penis. [Emphasis added]

[Why did a judge rule that the National Day of Prayer was unconstitutional?]

Because some atheist that "doesn't believe in God" has to shut out any reference to this "non-existent God", so he can fool himself into believing that there "is no God"!

Is it not interesting that so many will try to stop others from doing what hurts them not, yet enriches them not either, when they achieve their goal?

No wonder God calls them fools! Seems a pretty apt description.

Makes as much sense as me trying to get my neighbor to refrain from getting up early just because I like to sleep late.

If I succeed, I have not done myself a bit of good, but neither is the early riser harming me by getting up early; so what's the point????

I personally think it's an attempt to ease that gnawing feeling that there "IS A GOD", but "I don't want to know about Him, 'cause I'll be obligated to admit that I don't hold the reins!"

Christians do not commit well planned murders. A crime of passion perhaps, but in order to proceed with an abortion or infanticide you have to cross a plethora of thresholds where you can turn back and not do this wicked thing. An abortion is a very well planned murder. We can disagree on reason or thought, but we cannot argue what is clearly defined in Scripture.

This question is easily solved: If the bishops are against the bill, they are right. If the bishops support the bill, they are wrong and acting against tradition and the teachings of the Catholic Church. If they support the bill, they are modernists and could get excommunicated.

The Divine Mercy Care Pharmacy in Chantilly proudly and purposefully limited what it would stock on its shelves. But it turns out that no birth control pills, no condoms, no porn, no tobacco and even no makeup added up to one thing:

No customers.

The self-described "pro-life" pharmacy went out of business last month, less than two years after it opened to great fanfare, with a Catholic priest sprinkling holy water on the strip-mall store tucked between an Asian supermarket and a scuba shop.

No word on whether he returned for last rites.

I wish my girlfriend's gay 17-year-old son would buck up and marry a WOMAN just like his gay uncle did! (Only stay FAITHFUL to his wife, unlike his uncle.) Why doesn't it occur to homosexuals that maybe God doesn't WANT all his children to be sexually attracted to their spouses, or even sexually attracted to the GENDER of their spouses. Maybe he wants certain people to be disgusted by the sexual organs of their spouse, in order to love him MORE! Nowhere in the Bible does it say "thou shalt be attracted to your spouse." In fact, marriage used to be a property arrangement. Obviously God doesn't care whether or not you are physically attracted - the important part is that you obey his Word - and follow it to the T.

I was just saying to DH last night that unless one is actually watching and looking for the signs God warned us about, life seems normal. I've spoken to so many people just to see what they think and I am surprised to see that the majority of them don't see anything that different. Sure, they'll say there seems to be more earthquakes but then they'll chalk it up to the earth shifting, something natural. They'll say that the Middle East has always been going back and forth as it is now, they'll say there's always been famine in different parts of the world so in other words........they see everything as normal therefore life continues as normal, drinking and eating and giving in marriage.....because they aren't "watching" and looking as we are, they don't see it as we do. I've even spoken to believers who don't "see it"

It is clear that the Boy Scouts and the Church were perfect preying grounds for the predatory gay villains. Both professions offer situations where the predator in positions of authority has many opportunities to be alone with vulnerable, innocent and impressionable young boys.

In any event I don’t blame so called “liberals” for the “lavender mob” (perhaps 3% of the population) having so much power. It is the 97% of citizens who are afraid of being called names (homophobe). The real definition of homophobia is the fear of the truth about homosexuality.

The curse of homosexuality is a destroyer of men and women who are called to be saints and intrinsically corrosive to the traditional family and traditional civilization.

Any time such a small minority wields so much political power there must be fascism involved.

Quote# 72424

There is nothing more damning and destructive to America's youth today than the Godless public school system!

I thank God for the Bill of Rights. I thank God for the wisdom of our founding fathers. I thank God for the the First Amendment which gives us the legal right to freedom of speech, press, religion, and the right to peaceably assemble and protest. I am exercising my God-given freedom, by publishing this desperately needed article about the Godless and heathen public school system. There is no evil today like the Communist, humanistic, sexually immoral public school system. I detest the public school system! It is destructive to the faith of children!

Perhaps you are asking, "What is so wrong with the public school system? In a word, EVERYTHING! Perhaps a better question is: What is right about the public school system? The truth is intolerant my friend. 1 + 1 = 2. Now you can ignorantly claim that 1 + 1 = 3; but you'd be wrong (and probably a product of the public school system). Children are robbed of faith in God in public schools. Instead, children are taught that they evolved from "stardust" which somehow formed into a planet, and then life just happened. Children are taught that humans are animals. If this is true, then bestiality is acceptable, right? This is what the evolutionists teach is it not?

Faith MUST come before knowledge. Character must come before knowledge. To educate a man beyond his character is to produce an educated fool (Romans 1:22, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools"). To educate a man who lacks faith in God is to produce an educated heathen. The public school system produces educated fools. Young children who should be taught about God are instead brainwashed with Evolution and worldly philosophies. I call Evolution, Devilution, and for good reason (Hitler was a big fan of Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species). Communism, Nazism, Godlessness and Evolution are all synonymous in ideologies. Welcome to the public school detention-camp.

Quote# 72422

We Should Stand Against Evil Tide of Gays

I am writing in concern of the many pro-homosexual articles I have read in the past several months in your paper.

To begin with, homosexuality is not a natural alternate lifestyle. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve, nor Annie and Eve. If you knew anything at all about that lifestyle and the utter depravity of those who practice it, you would be utterly appalled at the idea that anyone would even think of adopting a child to these perverts, let alone defend it. They are all child molesters.

In the next place, sodomy is not only an abomination to God, but it is also against state law; therefore our "chief of police" and our city council are conspiring to break state law. I'm referring to the "hate crimes" article during the "hate crime victim's" vigil. Councilman David Bowers is a sodomite, self confessed. That makes him in violation of any oath of office he may have taken, the police chief being a party to it.

Now then, in regard to the sodomite hotel. Everybody better grab your little boys off the beach. These guys love fresh meat. They will molest your children. No matter how much they would like you to think they are normal, they are not.

As for the city accepting every sin that comes down the turnpike for financial gain, God will not be mocked. Romans 1:27, "and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust one toward one another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense (payback) of their error which is meet (fitting)." Verse 26 also includes women doing the same.

I'm sorry if no one likes what God says. Please, for your sakes, stand against this evil tide. Be not partakers in another man's sins. He is coming to judge all who practice unrighteousness. Now and in eternity.

A final word from the Bible, Romans 1:32 "who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

*Obama orders hospitals to grant same-sex couples visitation rights*

They aren't family. They shouldn't have special privileges. What about the person's real family that might want to see them and not want to be around the so-called "partner"? Does REAL family not have any say-so or any rights? I might want to visit a good frined in the hospital, but if the hospital says relatives only -- and come on, most hospitals don't say that for regular illnesses, just sometimes for major illnesses when lots of visitors would be a burdon on the patient -- then I'm not going to be allowed in. Why are the gays and lesbians whining so much? It's no different. If the policy says relatives only, well, they aren't relatives. Perversion buddies, more like it. It's not as if most of them actually care about or love their "partners" anyway -- most of them have way more than just one.

Ray, since we're talking about a world without religion, we would also be talking about A WORLD WITHOUT ATHEISM, which is also a religion requiring a large measure of faith in the unseen:

Atheism has:
1) Its zealous heroes - R. Dawkins, Carl Sagan, etc.

2) Zealous followers full of anger, bitterness, hatred, and emotionalism (just look at some of the responses here).

3) Strong beliefs - MACROevolutionism, "modified" Big Bang and other cosmological models, Abiogenesis, and many other completely unscientific and unprovable beliefs.

4) A political manifesto with directives such as "They (creationists) must be silenced", Steven J. Gould, Atheist, MACROevolutionist, Harvard Professor of Paleontology

5) Major fiascos from within like "Ida" and many others errors.

The Imminent Fall of Western Civilization...

...can be traced to tonight, I think.

I was working the election.

Yes, it was a runoff involving only the far-down-the-ballot judgeship races. Yes, it was a Republican primary runoff in a heavily (perhaps the most heavily) Democratic side of town. Yes, those with a real interest in these races had the opportunity to vote early, which was more convenient for most (including me). Still...

There were 26 combined precincts at my polling place with a grand total of 42,788 registered voters.

Of that number, how many were Republicans who cared enough to show up and vote?

Ten. That's right, ten.

I fear that Western civilization does not have long to live.

(Commenting on Spike Psarris, a "Creation Astronomer")

Oh knock it off. i applaud parris. this is the first time i have ever seen anyone on either side of the debate show actual textbooks on physics, chemistry and astronomy, citing sources for his points of view. what he says makes sense.

all the evolutionists do is spew the “billions of years” yet 0 evidence to back it up. whatever happened to science being an objective way of going about studies? it uses to be you go into a lab, look under a microscope, use a petri dish, Bunsen burner and test tubes, dna and study gases that you can actually use, see and feel. this is what science is about. science is not about seeing something and then using a computer simulation based on only what you see and then say “ok thats what happened. this is billions of years old and is light years away.” why oh why is it that astronomy is always the exception to the rule when it comes to real science and astronomers can always get away with whatever they say being considered a theory?

i’m sick and tired of astronomers and their ridiculous observations. at least let the engineers make the observations. they actually make the machinery and do the real work. there are way too many astronomers. who needs them? i say we get rid of some.

From an article on the top "rational proofs of the truth of christianity".

5) UFO abductions have been stopped in the name of Jesus.

UFOs are not metal spaceships from other star systems. Many of even the secular researchers are beginning to see that UFOs come not from another physical location but from another dimension. Christian UFO researchers believe UFOs come from the realm of spirit and are demonic.

There are many testimonies of attempted UFO abductions that have been stopped by the person calling out the name of Jesus. (See Charisma magazine April 2001 page 46.) There are many recent books that explain UFOs from a Christian perspective.

[about the Day of Silence]

“This is an assault on our school system by terrorists,” says Rabbi Eidensohn, who is director of the National Non-Sectarian Council of Pro-Family Activists.

“The financial damage due to lost school time throughout the country will be enormous. We cannot, however, talk about money alone. The disruption of a school atmosphere, especially towards the end of the year, when discipline in schools is a challenge, could kill a year of learning for many students.”

“Precisely when students should be concentrating on finals, they are told by GLSEN homosexual activists to refuse to speak in class and to disrupt school with activism. Students who should be learning to get along with others are making a ‘hit list’ of teachers and students who are Biblical or who refuse the homosexual agenda.”

We must stop apologizing for our positions on moral issues, and must not allow ourselves to be dragged down into the PC mud. What the left fails to comprehend is that some things are WRONG, period. No further dissection of why they are wrong is necessary nor is it productive. If the typical five-year-old knows that two men "marrying" each other is wrong, or that it is wrong for little boys and girls to be forced to use the same restroom facilities, then none of us should waste our time replying to leftist demands to explain why these things are wrong.

That's their favorite tactic. You're opposed to "gay marriage" - Why? You're opposed to unisex restrooms - Why? Why, why, why? They want to take every moral concept that is self-evident and make you question it and force you to have to justify it. Don't take the bait.

The only proper response to such stupidity is ridicule and scorn. They want to portray themselves as representing the mainstream, but they are actually the EXTREME lunatic fringe. Treat them as such and move on. And do this with the rest of the PC litany of nonsense, as well. We must reverse the semi-respectability that these crazy ideas are gaining by immediately dismissing them as immoral nuttiness every time they are raised. If enough people consistently do this, rather than allowing themselves to be guilted into discussing the alleged merits of said nutty ideas, then it might just begin to rub off on the rest of our fellow citizens.

[Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens want Pope Benedict XVI arrested for crimes against humanity.]

The ONLY reason this has traction is because it's all about destroying Christianity (in this case Catholicism). Where were these zealots when the Pope was a Cardinal? They supposedly knew about it then...why not go after him then? BECAUSE THIS GIVES THEM A BIGGER HEADLINE WITH WHICH TO DISCREDIT CHRISTIANITY.

For the record, I am not Catholic, I think the abuses of the church stink, and those involved should be prosecuted. But this is NOT about any of that, it's about the hateful agenda of the atheists to do anything and everything they can to shake people's belief in God.

Folks like Dawkins and Hitchens are very miserable people...and they want the rest of us to share in that hopeless misery.
