(Gay marriage debate) *Definitions come after Human rights*

You are Atheist, are you not? Well, if you are, your hypocrisy is extraordinary. In an Atheist world, no one has rights. No one is entitled to anything. In an Atheist world, the state gives and defines rights, therefor the state is the only thing in existence that has any natural right, and that right is to define the rights of it's subjects.

(For context, he's talking about victims of natural disasters/acts of God.)

Finally, what about the Christians who died? Surely some of the thousands of people who perished were believers. Did God judge them, too? We cannot assert beyond what Scripture reveals, but we can be as specific as the general principles revealed in Scripture would allow. It is possible that some of the Christians were included as God's final act of fatherly discipline toward them, so that although they died with the world, they would not be condemned with the world. Or, perhaps some of them were included because God would use their death to inspire others to faith, reverence, and holiness, and at the same time to harden those whom God had wished to harden. These are just some of the possible reasons that we may deduce from Scripture, and from which we could derive many more. But it would be dangerous to speculate about why God had chosen a specific believer to die in such a manner.

What we know for sure is that these Christians are not complaining right now. They are not screaming in agony or cursing God for how their bodies perished. They are resting in God's presence, grateful, worshipful, and even jumping for joy! They will no longer suffer pain and sickness, or warfare, terrorism, floods, and fires.

If your loved one had died as a Christian, then know that he now receives abundant comfort and recompense for his labor and suffering. And there is no other place that he would rather be than where he is right now. There is no need to worry about him, or to weep about how he died. By God's grace, he has made it, he has arrived. Now is time to think about the condition of your own soul. Do you have the faith that he had? Have you repented of your sins and believed on Jesus Christ for your salvation as your loved one had done? If so, then you shall see him again, and what a reunion it will be! But if you refuse to repent and believe, then one day God will take your life and throw you into the lake of fire. And you shall be numbered with the murderers, adulterers, homosexuals, slanderers, those who practice witchcraft, those who are the lovers of money and pleasure, and all idolaters and unbelievers.

At the very bottom, this is what it all really comes down to. So, in a manner of speaking, nothing could convince us that Christianity were untrue, because the world would not be possible without the triune God of Biblical revelation. Deliberate ignorance is the practice of refusing to consider or discuss logic or evidence disproving ideologically motivated positions. Related concepts are wishful thinking and the fallacy of invincible ignorance. Examples of deliberate ignorance include:

- materialists refuse to address the impossibility of material explanation for migration and homing
- evolutionists refuse to address the lack of a plausible evolutionary path for the whale and the other counterexamples to evolution.
- Believing that only one ideology could ever make mistakes; constantly demonizing that ideology while ignoring the faults of one's own (a particularly Liberal fault).
- liberals refuse to address how socialism destroys productivity
- Liberals who refuse to acknowledge the many fundamental truths in the Bible and even dismiss out-of-hand the many examples of Biblical scientific foreknowledge but refuse to read the Bible.
- Advocates of the global warming theory refuse to consider any scientific evidence which shows that natural causes have always had a greater effect on terrestrial air temperature than human activity.
- Liberal cafeteria Christians refuse to consider Bible verses that contradict their preconceived notions of what the Bible should say.
- Liberal Internet discussion boards quickly delete posts that present facts contradicting liberal ideology and ban users making such posts.
- Believing sentimental fallacies about public figures even when all the objective facts clearly indicate that said fallacies are false.
- Liberals who claim that the first amendment says that public officials are not allowed to acknowledge America's Christian heritage.
- Pushing a "scientific" theory for political purposes or because it fits one's belief system or preconceived notions, while dismissing actual scientific evidence that discredits the theory [...]

Christians are being silenced all across America: in the political debate, the public square, the schools, the workplace, and even in the sanctuary of their own churches. Read these signs of the times:

? Christians threatened with prison for protesting the homosexual agenda.

? Employees of Fortune 500 companies fired for quoting the scriptures or forbidden to display family pictures in their office cubicles because they offend homosexual employees.

? Christian churches are being ordered by the government to perform lesbian marriages.

? “Anti-bullying” programs explicitly promote homosexuality in public schools.

? Municipal workers forbidden by the city to say “family values” because those words constitute a hate crime.

? Proposed federal laws supposedly aimed at preventing employment discrimination that would make discrimination against Christians the law of the land.

? Other “antidiscrimination” laws make Christian charities illegal.

? Secularist liberals in Congress seek to censor or bankrupt Christian broadcasters.

? The IRS “cracking down” on Christian pastors who oppose homosexual propaganda in schools, abortion on demand, or same-sex marriage.

? The real impact of same-sex marriage? Any criticism of homosexuality would be legally defined as bigotry. Christians who protest could lose their jobs, go to jail, or see their churches shut down by the government.

? The Christian haters are becoming an elite class of super citizens whose moral views are actively sponsored by the state while Christians are increasingly censored, penalized, and even prosecuted.

I have a theory that equates contraception with a form of rape.

It goes something like this: Rape has nothing to do with consent, and everything to do with the intent of the rapist. If the only intent in a sex act is to use another person as an object for sexual gratification, then that is rape. The only concrete, material way to judge this is the intent to create a new life. Rapists aren’t thinking about a new life, and if they’re thinking about the future at all, they want their sex to be non-procreative. Contraception is about preventing new life from occurring- and thus making the woman available to be a sex object.

Fox News host Steve Doocy asked Penny Nance, CEO of the Christian activist group Concerned Women for America, if she could make any sense out of why Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx would proclaim May 2 as both a “Day of Prayer” and a “Day of Reason.”

“He comes from North Carolina, which has the 7th highest church attendance, clearly he’s not running for re-election since he’s up for transportation secretary,” she opined. “You know, G. K. Chesterton said that the Doctrine of Original Sin is the only one which we have 3,000 years of empirical evidence to back up. Clearly, we need faith as a component and it’s just silly for us to say otherwise.”

“You know, the Age of Enlightenment and Reason gave way to moral relativism. And moral relativism is what led us all the way down the dark path to the Holocaust… Dark periods of history is what we arrive at when we leave God out of the equation.”

What's "making stuff up" is the ridiculous idea that it would take thousands of years to make a fossil. You don't know that, and there is evidence that it can happen in very short periods, for instance in caves. I'd have to dig it up but it involves the replacement of organic matter with mineral matter in a matter of years, not even hundreds let alone thousands.

[Anarchists held violent protests in Seattle on May Day]

I find it ironic that the anarchists make such an effort to fight the police, because if it weren’t for an orderly society with rule of law they’d be among the first ones liquidated by gangs and citizen militias.

For the most part these groups contain far-left malcontents whose ideology consists of little besides a hatred for all things normal. They are tolerated because they are, in truth, the the radical edge of statist absolutism. It is exactly these kinds of people who paved the way for Bolsheviks, who made up much of the membership of Ernst Röhm’s SA, and who gleefully wrecked the last vestiges of classical Chinese civilization as Red Guards under Chairman Mao.

Quote# 94184

At present, the snapshot looks like this: There is a dedicated communist residing in the White House in the form of one Barack Hussein Obama (This is probably not even his given name, but we won’t go there right now). Many conditions conspired to bring this about, and to keep Obama in power.

Part of it had to do with the cult of personality, particularly concerning his ethnicity. Part of it had to do with patriotic and otherwise engaged Americans having capitulated to the dictates and erroneous interpretations of American law proffered by communist academics and lawyers; this gave rise to the rise of progressive and Marxist thought and policies in America, which should have been addressed with extreme prejudice 70 years ago.

A starry-eyed press, indoctrinated into liberal-socialism by communist journalism school professors, have become no less than a state propaganda bureau. Thus, the press as most of us understand it, no longer exists. We can count on their doing all they can to aid Obama and the mission of the radical left in the foreseeable future. The most harmful realm in which they currently operate is that of nondisclosure, whereby they are withholding vast amounts of information concerning the criminality of this administration from the public, and the degree of power it continues to criminally usurp and coalesce.

Many Americans have wondered why, like the press, GOP leaders are also withholding vast amounts of information concerning the criminality of this administration from the public. Whether they are too well-sated and disconnected to care, or they are deliberately running interference for congressional socialists, it still spells complicity.

I don’t often go out on the limb of religious doctrine, but you have to admit that in the aggregate, this all lends credence to Armageddon dogma, whether one subscribes to the Millennialist view, of if one merely accepts the Book of Revelation (there being a difference). If one recognizes neither, there’s still the dystopian science fiction atrociously-oppressive government scenario. Interpreting it as politics as usual would be, in my view, a form of desperate denial.

Whether the individual American, apprised of these facts, determines to become a full-blown prepper in response to it, or to set aside a revolver with one bullet in the chamber, the days of sitting on the sidelines are over, like it or not.

Sorry if you though the Mayan end-of-the-world thing would be our “easy out…”

On February 5, Britain’s House of Commons voted in favor of legalizing gay marriage. The vote is extremely alarming. It could signal the beginning of the end for Western civilization as we know it.

The idea of same-sex marriage is troubling even to some homosexuals, let alone those who hold a biblical conviction that marriage is intended by the Creator to be between a man and a woman.

The vote, which was 400-175, represented a major crack in the Conservative Party. More than half of its 303 members voted against or abstained from the measure. Prime Minister David Cameron may go down in history as the man who hammered the last nail in the Conservative Party coffin.

The hope now lies within the House of Lords. But that’s a fragile hope. Even if they kill off this troubling legislation, it will only die for a season. The homosexual lobby will bring it up again and again and again. They are tenacious and even vicious. Voters against the legislation have received abuse and even death threats. David Burrowes, a ministerial aide, has been called a “Nazi.”

And this I can predict with certainty: the next group in England to seek similar legislation for their cause will be the polygamists. Muslims in England have been waiting for this legislation to pass before trying to get their legal right to marry four wives.

It is hardly a secret in England that many Muslims claim welfare benefits for multiple wives while the British government turns a blind eye to the hemorrhaging of taxpayer money.

Every time Western civilization seems to reach the bottom, one discovers a new low even farther down the pit. If Western populations don’t wake up, before long they will find themselves all the way in the Lake of Fire with the devil laughing his head off.

‘He shall persecute the saints of the most high and shall intend to change times and law,’ that’s what I want you to focus on, ‘He shall persecute the saints of the most high and shall intend to change times and law.’ Every day that goes by Barack Hussein Obama is looking, acting and talking more and more like a man who is applying for the job of Antichrist. I’m not convinced as of yet that he is the one and only ‘Man of Perdition,’ but I am thoroughly convinced that he is a forerunner of the ‘Man of Perdition.’

Mr. Obama may simply be the latest incarnation of Satan’s spirit inside a human being in a high public office. There have been many such men throughout history, tyrants such as Adolf Hitler. Consider these two news articles involving Mr. Obama. ‘According to Washington sources, Mr. Obama is poised to declare this week that homosexual marriage is a constitutional right in the USA.’

‘The Obama administration must file any brief opposing the California ban by this Thursday, February 28.’ So brace yourself, Mr. Obama may declare this week that homosexual marriage is a constitutional right. Is he the Antichrist who changes times and law? Only time will tell.

Article number two: ‘Mr. Obama will travel to Jerusalem next month.’ I think it will be interesting to see if he enters Jerusalem on the same day Jesus entered the city prior to Passover.

Now here’s a crazy thought, I’m not suggesting that it’s going to happen; I’m just saying it’s kind of a crazy thought. Suppose that Mr. Obama enters the Temple and declares himself as God. Now, I don’t even want to go there today, I think it is too early for that happen but this is starting to get a little spooky, isn’t it?

Is it by coincidence that a swarm of locust from Egypt have [sic] moved across the border into Israel today just weeks before Mr. Obama’s arrival in the Holy Land? Tens of millions of locust have attacked Egypt in recent days. A plague of locust was one of the ten plagues that God used to punish Egypt for refusing to allow the Hebrew people to depart, the story is recounted in Jewish homes and synagogues each year at Passover. Passover begins at March 25th; Mr. Obama is scheduled to arrive in Jerusalem on March 20th. In recent months, Mr. Obama has been photographed with flies buzzing around his head or attached to his lip or forehead. Each time I see the flies buzzing around him I think of Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies. According to an ancient non-biblical manuscript supposedly written by King Solomon, Beelzebub claims to cause destruction through tyrants, to cause demons to be worshiped among men, to excite priests to lust, to cause jealousies in cities and murders and to bring forth war on the world. So think about it the next time you see a fly land on Barack Obama’s lip or forehead. I wouldn’t be surprised if Israel is covered with locusts when he arrives in Jerusalem in three weeks. How many biblical signs do we need to see to know that this man is evil?

This is not the first time some in the public have made a connection between evil in the Bible and President Obama.

On Nov. 5, 2008, the very night Obama was first elected president, the Illinois Pick 3 lottery number for the Evening Pick was 666, a number associated with “the beast” mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Obama’s home state at the time was Illinois.

In January of this year, WND reported how prophecy websites were having a field day with the worldwide attention Obama received for sparring with a fly.

News reports recounted Obama’s long history of attracting flies during recorded interviews and speeches.

Religious and other websites used the headlines to point out that a biblical reference for Satan, the Semitic deity Beelzebub, literally translates from Hebrew into “Lord of the Flies.”

As Obama nominated two new members of his second administration on Jan. 24, a swarming fly stole the show.

“This guy is bothering me here,” said Obama, who repeatedly swatted at a large black fly buzzing near his face.

The London Telegraph noted a White House pool report said “the president spoke for about five minutes while being menaced by a house fly.”

This was not the president’s first brush with a fly while the cameras were rolling. In 2010, Obama halted a speech about health-care reform as a fly zipped around him. During a June 2009 CNBC interview, Obama killed a fly on camera.

In a 2008 campaign appearance, Obama halted a local interview after a swarm of flies had gathered around him.

Those reaching to connect Obama’s fly troubles with the darkest biblical references won’t have much difficulty.

One name commonly used to refer to Satan is Beelzebub, which translates from Hebrew into “Lord of the Flies.”

A posting at the popular Free Republic Web forum discusses Beelzebub and asks, “Is the White House fly infestation evidence of demonic presence and influence there?”

The End Times blog named Obama the “Lord of the Flies.”

The blog connects Obama to Beelzebub, writing, “This really isn’t an academic question. The Lord of the Flies is real.”

Over at RevalationNow.net [sic], a posting by “editorial staff” muses about whether Obama is possessed by a demonic entity.

“I feel like I am watching a horror movie and the secret evil character is revealed by the evil signs around him,” the post reads.

Quote# 94172

In sum, Obama is actually in practice and in his “heart” a Muslim “turned inside out.” As president of the United States and leader of the free world, he is thus potentially even more dangerous than al-Qaida, Hamas, Hezbollah, the mullahs in Tehran, or any terrorist group or nation state, combined. That is why I have not lightly labeled him “our” “Mullah in Chief.”

Is it no wonder then that our Mullah in Chief and his appointed lackeys at the FBI and Departments of Justice and Homeland Security, in the wake of the Boston Marathon Muslim bombing of April 15, 2013, refuse even to consider the possibility of terrorism, much more Muslim terrorism, as the cause for the explosion of a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, just two days later, on April 17. Here is how today’s latest Wikipedia posting describes the explosion, which registered like a 2.2 earthquake on the Richter scale and shook the ground over 70 miles from the town.

“On April 17, 2013, an explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West, Texas, 18 miles (29 km) north of Waco while emergency personnel were responding to a fire at the facility. At least 15 people were killed, more than 160 were injured and more than 150 buildings were damaged or destroyed. The cause of the blast is unknown.”

Given that former President George W. Bush is perhaps the most hated man in “Obama’s Muslim world” of the Middle East, and among mosques here in the United States, and that West, Texas, where “W” grew up is only 30 miles as the crow flies from his Crawford ranch, how is it that even the possibility of Muslim terrorism was again not raised? Indeed, during yesterday’s dedication of the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, “W” remarked about this closeness to his ranch in Crawford, Texas, where one must have surely felt the massive explosion. And, the explosion at the fertilizer plant in West, Texas, comes on top of the proximity in time to the Muslim terrorist bombings in Boston.

Couple this with the historic fact that fertilizer bombs are widely used in the Middle East and have also been used here in the United States by Muslim terrorists, and Obama’s silence becomes even more deafening and frightening.

Following his lead, major news media outlets also have not raised the possibility of Muslim terrorism in West, Texas. But, notwithstanding the complicity of these major news outlets, perhaps intimidated by Muslim charges that their past reporting was prejudiced against Muslims by terrorist-connected domestic groups like the Council for American-Islamic Relations, does not the nation’s “fearless leader” have a duty to address head-on the possibility of Muslim terrorism in West, Texas?

Not if you are Barack Hussein Obama, a “Muslim” himself through and through.

We now live in the most dangerous of times in our nation’s history. Our so-called president is a disloyal if not traitorous “Muslim in drag,” and our lives and those of our loved ones are in great peril.

May God watch over and protect us as this man occupies and subverts the Office of the President of the United States and continues to sell us, “We the People,” out to his Muslim terrorist friends.

In a speech to religious students on April 20, Mehdi Taeb, who heads a think tank and is considered close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said that Jews are powerful sorcerers who have used their abilities to attack Iran. He noted that while “the Jews” had yet to unleash their full powers, their abilities were negated after they tried to use magic to interfere with the Iranian elections of 2008 and 2009.

“The Jews are currently subjecting us to an unprecedented trial,” Taeb said, according to a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute. “As you read in the Koran, [King] Solomon ruled the world… and God ordered a group of sorcerers to come out against him. The Jews have the greatest powers of sorcery, and they make use of this tool.

“All the measures that have been brought against us originate with the Zionists,” he continued. “The US is a tool in their hands. So far, they have not used the full [scope of] their sorcery against us. Sorcery was the final means to which they resorted during the [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad era, but they were defeated. This ability of the Jews was eliminated by Iran. Five years ago they tried to oust Ahmadinejad [by this means].”

With yesterday’s historic “coming out” by an NBA player, one cultural commentator is very concerned how that announcement may influence children who view professional athletes as role models.

NBA veteran Jason Collins disclosed in a first-person account posted Monday at SI.com that he is “gay.” Collins, 34, is a 12-year veteran of the National Basketball Association and has played for six teams during that time.

“I’m black. And I’m gay. I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation,” he states in the article.

White House spokesman Jay Carney on Monday called Collins’ decision to come out “courageous,” and added the White House supports him. The seven-foot, 255-pound center becomes the first active male player in one of the four major professional sports to publicly reveal his homosexuality.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality tells American Family News that Collins is actually struggling with homosexual sin.

“He was born with genes that made him tall. He wasn't born with a gay gene,” says LaBarbera. “I feel sorry for this man. He's being celebrated, which will encourage him to stay in his sin, and he needs to leave it like so many men and women have before him.”

The family advocate adds there is "a huge push to have homosexuality embraced in professional sports." Teams in the four major professional sports have special events to draw positive attention to the lifestyle – and LaBarbera contends that is not healthy for children.

“These professional athletes are models for children, whether we like it or not,” he says. “And so this will lead the children embracing homosexuality and saying, Hey, it's good enough for Jason Collins it's good enough for me.”

It is LaBarbera's hope that Collins will encounter Christians who will help him leave the lifestyle by embracing Jesus Christ.

A Michigan parent wants parts of Anne Frank's prolific diary banned from her daughter's classroom.

Gail Horalek of Northville is upset over Frank's references to her own genitalia in the diary. She says the passages made her daughter uncomfortable and that the school should have requested parental permission before assigning it to students, Patch.com reported.

'It's pretty graphic, and it's pretty pornographic for seventh-grade boys and girls to be reading,' Horalek told the Detroit's Fox affiliate. 'It's inappropriate for a teacher to be giving this material out to the kids when its really the parents' job to give the students this information.'

Horalek is referring to an unabridged version of the diary titled 'Anne Frank: The Diary of Young Girl (The Definitive Edition).'

The version includes passages which had been omitted by Frank's father, Otto Frank, in the first version of the diary that was published in 1947.

The specific passages that upset Horalek's daughter involve Frank's discovery of her vagina.

'There are little folds of skin all over the place, you can hardly find it,' the passage reads. 'The little hole underneath is so terribly small that I simply can't imagine how a man can get in there, let alone how a whole baby can get out!'

Are you a Fundamentalist Atheist? Here's a little test:

1). You compare God to "Santa Claus" or "Flying Spaghetti Monster" unaware of the huge ontological Category Error you make.

2). You refer to God as "sky fairy", "magical man in the sky", "Sky Daddy", etc. showing ignorance of the classical understanding of God's nature and attributes.

3). You claim "there is no evidence for God", apparently ignorant of the vast body of evidence for God that has been contemplated by believers and non-believers for centuries.

4). You tout the Empirical Verificationist Principle (EVP) unaware the the EVP itself cannot be empirically verified.

5). You think "science" is the only way to knowledge, ignorant that physical science is limited to the material workings of the world.

6). You say, "Philosophy is not needed! Only science! And that's my philosophy, (which I need to show philosophy is not needed)!".

7). You think the Problem of Evil disproves God, ignorant of the universal acceptance among philosophers and theologians that it does not.

8). You've heard somewhere that the Big Bang does not indicate an absolute beginning of all time, space, matter, and energy, not knowing the growing current consensus is: yes it does! Which shows something transcendent brought it about, thus obliterating Naturalism.

9). You think Quantum Mechanics, evolutionary adaptation, and multi-verse theories rule out God. Nothing could be further from the truth!

10). You call names, attack persons rather than their arguments, belittle, offend, blame others for shoving religion down your throat, and proclaim freely in the public square that Christian or religious views should have NO freedom in the public square!

Oh! And the big sign you're a Fundamentalist Atheist: you are irritated or downright angry that God, informed faith, science, reason, evidence, philosophy, history, and the arts can be joyfully embraced by the follower of Christ! So, how's your blood pressure right now?

[Jesus turning water into wine]

Tiger - Jews mixed vine from 1 part wine and 2 parts water up to 1 part wine and 6 parts water. Wine was used as a drink to quench the thirst, not to get drunk. You find this through whole OT and NT. It was a part of their tradition. People that drank undiluted wine was called drunkards and looked down on.

Jesus made the real thing, that is for sure. This wine was then taken from the amphora to a place it was mixed with water, then poured into the cups and served.

EAH - Wine when Jesus was around, was more like fermented water,
then the stuff people get drunk on now a days.
So what that first miracle was, was providing drinkable water,
at the wedding, instead of some germ filled water.

coronet Blue - Ever heard of delicious non-alcoholic wine?

"When President Bush and Laura came out to speak for a few minutes at the dinner, it only took about thirty seconds of his genuine, no-nonsense but joyful delivery for me to realize how much I miss him being my president and how much I truly detest the pompous, scripted, fake personality that occupies the office currently (but I digress)."

The official dedication of the library on Thursday morning included all five living American Presidents on stage and speaking. Presidents Carter and Clinton were as self-absorbed as ever and could only bring themselves to compliment the Bushes through thinly veiled attempts to sing their own personal praises and warped sense of accomplishment.

President Obama was as arrogant and “above it all” as ever and even had the audacity (of hope?) to campaign for his legislative agenda since Speaker Boehner and several Members of Congress were in attendance. It was embarrassingly classless

Then the cowboy from Midland took to the podium as we gave him a standing ovation. His words are going to become standard operating teaching material for me at Patriot Academy when I’m training future leaders.

“The purpose of public office is not to fulfill personal ambition. Elected officials must serve a cause greater than themselves. The political winds blow left and right. Polls rise and fall. Supporters come and go. But in the end, leaders are defined by the convictions they hold.”

What a contrast to the previous speakers (other than the 26 seconds from his Father). It reminded me of how President Bush always bragged on the military men and women on the ground and never once took personal credit for their success, while Obama starts every statement about military action or crisis response with “I ordered” or “I decided” or “Because I have determined.”

At the end of President Bush’s speech, his genuine gratitude for the opportunity to serve his fellow man was revealed, not through his words as much as through the emotion he could not contain. This was not the fake humility of Clinton or Obama’s dramatic wiping of a tear that did not even exist.

Interesting article, but it's scope needs to be broadened.

Women from EVERY country will submit to the strongest invaders and breed with them. This is not exclusive to American women. THIS is why men didn't historically allow women into the political process -- because women have no inherent patriotism and are base in nature due to being driven by their sexuality, which is tied into their emotions. When thugs invade, expect women to be on THEIR side. Woman, thy name is treason.

Nice incentive structure women create, once they are given the freedom to do so.

We are an in an interim phase of human history, when women having the right to vote is considered an obvious, normal thing. Not long ago, it was not, and it will again not be not too long from now.

But we are in a weird phase where this is considered normal. Just like how from 1946-73, having a high-paying manufacturing job seemed like a permanent, normal thing. Or how from 1997-99, joining a dot-com seemed like a path to quick riches. Or how in 1979, Communism seemed to be winning.
