I am usually a fan of Sandi Toksvig and find her quite amusing but this book is just a shameful attempt to fill the heads of young girls with feminist nonsense and give them ideas beyond their station. Simply trawling through history to find females (however obscure) that managed to achieve anything does not further the cause in any way, it just highlights the fact that 99% of all invention, scientific/medical discoveries and indeed general greatness were achieved by the male of the species. It is only in the last 40 years or so that females (most of them envious and dissatisfied) have decided they want a piece of the pie. If females were truly as good as males then they would not need to rely on unfair equal opportunities legislation (think unfair promotion in government and big-business etc ). Even with all this now firmly in place men are still vastly more successful than women and this should tell us something. Women still excel in childcare, nursing, homemaking and certain 'hospitality' industries and this should tell us something too.

It's the title 'Girls Are Best' that's so wrong. If it had been called 'Girls Are Quite Good Sometimes in Exceptional Circumstances' then it would have been less controversial and nearer the truth. Imagine the rage of the feminist brigade if anyone dared to write a book called 'Boys are Best' (or even implied it in any way).

It is also very telling that there is no mention of Mrs Thatcher in this book (someone who did indeed achieve greatness on her own merits). Could this be that she didn't subscribe to or have any time for the kind of bra-burning facial-haired feminism that this book is surreptitiously trying to promote.

If you are thinking of buying this book then think again and buy your wives/daughters/nieces etc books on marrying well, motherhood and household management as this will serve them much better in the long run.

These are not blog-posts I am saying. These are discussion responses.

Anyways, No. American Atheists does not represent all atheists around the world. or the US for that matter. That's like saying the Vatican represents all catholics or all christians.

American Atheists is a beacon of influence and continues to grow everyday to turn the common atheist into a religious atheist.

Still don't think AA is a religion? If they don't believe in a god, then why can't it be just that and not have this silly logo that represents them?

Where's the no god part of that? That shows you one thing. Science. As it implies that all atheists are science fanatics which is NOT TRUE.

See, they're using science as a dogma to convert the secular atheism into some religious science cultists that is the start of a technocratic nation.

Bicycles are one of the obsessions of Mayor Bloomberg and his transportation secretary Janette Sadik-Khan. Khan is the granddaughter of Imam Alimjan Idris, a Nazi collaborator and principle teacher at an SS school for Imams under Hitler’s Mufti, Haj Amin al-Husseini. The bio of his son, Wall Street executive Orhan Sadik-Khan, frequently mentions the bombing of the family home in Dresden and surviving trying times after World War II. It neglects to mention that the times were only trying because their side was losing.

[....]

In partial revenge, Khan has made many New York streets nearly as impassable as those of her grandfather’s wartime Dresden. Bike lanes have turned two lane streets into one lane streets. Infidels sit in their cars and honk while bike lanes go unused and midtown bus lanes sit empty except for the occasional daring taxi driver braving the bus lane camera and the 150 dollar fine.

[....]

Of such strange alliances is the technocratic banana republic on the Hudson woven. A Muslim Nazi collaborator’s granddaughter oversees the de-car-ing of a city after a plan based around a plan from the tenure of a modern collaborator with Muslim Nazis falls through. Imam Idris might have called it the providence of Allah. But more likely he would have found a way to get his piece of the pie.

I hope those who are skeptical will stop and think that possibly the unique, convulsive current events are pointing to the end of this age… Logically consider just a few coinciding points….that mankind did not have the means to wipe itself out until after the 1940's, with the development of nuclear weaponry. Concurrently, Israel has appeared on the scene (re-established in 1948),after thousands of years of the diaspora. Faith has waned, humanism has bounded… then there is the apparent increasing frequency of natural disasters,…Honestly, it sounds like the “end times” scenario spoken of in the Bible. Don’t let pride get in the way of exploring the possibility that you are living in the “last days” of this age, and that the claims of Jesus Christ are real.

From what we have observed so far the Extreme Atheists will reach out to the Chinese in order to persuade them to join them in their anti-Christian/Semitic agenda. Obama will talk to the Chinese in a similar way that he talks to his French Communist President cohort. China is moving against the USA similarly to Ahmadinejad.

NEVER forget that the linchpin of the left is HYPOCRISY.

My friends, you need to understand the three-legged stool that is “political correctness”: CD(cognitive dissonance),SI(selective indignation)and ME (moral equivalence). This mental straightjacket allows blacks to insult whites with impunity but reprobates whites who insult blacks. There’s a Congressional Black Caucus, but no Congressional White Caucus, and that arrangement is considered unremarkable.
Gays can press for admission to straight organizations like the Boy Scouts, but those who seek refuge under the first amendment (“freedom of assembly”) are homophobes.
In the press Democrats are lionized and Republicans are reflexively ostracized. Muslims are a protected category, but Christians are fair game.

The High Price of Losing the Culture War

Imagine living in a culture that has become so degenerate and depraved that your love for it is shoved aside by disgust. In such a culture, nonconformists who resist brainwashing will be marginalized. Cut off, alienated, thinking themselves alone, they will put up minimal resistance to those driving what Obama calls the “fundamental transformation” of America. That is why the liberal ruling class is aggressively using its control of the government, military, media, and schools to impose the normalization of homosexuality.

The poison has reached even small towns:

Dylan Meehan and Brad Taylor, two seniors at Carmel High School in Putnam County, New York, have become the first gay people to be voted “cutest couple” in the school’s yearbook.

The perverted pair are reportedly “happy to be role models.”

No one in their right mind could think encouraging high school students to engage in deviant sex acts that spread lethal diseases like AIDS is constructive. But no one in their right mind has a voice in the journalism or education establishments.

The military provides the masterminds more direct control. Consequently, the Marines are getting transformed from The Few, The Proud into this (barf alert).

The revulsion this depravity evokes in normal people is not taught but instinctual, like the reaction to the smell of sewage and rotting corpses. It serves the same purpose: to protect us from that which threatens our health.

But this natural revulsion can be overcome, if only temporarily. All the drovers who are driving the herd off a cliff need to do is convince people that they are bad for feeling it. Humans can convince themselves of literally anything if they think it is what others believe, and what they must believe too to be good persons. They will even believe sickness is health.

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team revealed that 11 people have turned their lives to Christ following another tornado tragedy in Oklahoma, which on Wednesday officials said has claimed the lives of 20 people.

"God sheltered them, then He saved them," said Michael Glassey, an RRT crisis-trained chaplain from Riverside, Calif.

The RRT, which sent out relief groups, including chaplains, to the disaster-hit areas to offer physical and spiritual support to those affected by the storms, says that one positive thing from the tragedy is that at least 11 people have said that they will turn their lives to Christ.

"I asked each one separately if they wanted to receive Christ as their personal Savior so that if this ever happened again they would have the assurance of going to Heaven, and that they could also experience a new beginning that very moment," Glassey said of a group of survivors who had found refuge in the midst of the storm at Emmaus Baptist Church, the local base of operation for the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains and Samaritan's Purse.

"They all said, 'yes,' and each received Christ into their hearts," he revealed.

The reason it doesn't make sense is your mind has been indoctrinated to believe the liberal way. God has always been. He is the ultimate infinity. Don't you think its absurd to create time based on how many times the earth has gone around the sun. If science says 14 or 15 billion years, is that accurate? Why do you believe in a magicians trick rather than believe what's real.

God does not need to be created. he has always been.

I think there will be some kind of revolution, but in a limited and sporadic fashion. There are those of us who have had enough and will fight back with everything they have because they understand the depth of depravity that now rules America and have supplied themselves with the means to do so. They will be met with force by those who have pledged allegiance to the government and have no trouble firing on fellow citizens. There are more of these available than many think. The fighting will be fierce and violent and many good people will go to meet God.

The majority though will acquiesce so they continue to have 4G WiFi, unlimited internet, free porn, a minimum wage job, and 24 hour access to liberal blogs so they can freely vent their vitriol against those they consider ignorant like Christians, patriots, and those who generally believe in the rule of law. Of course they will eventually starve or be enslaved by the ruling elite, but they are too mindless to realize it.

Where are the champions of Christ to save the nation from the pagan onslaught imposing homosexual marriage, homosexual scouts, 60 million babies done to death by abortion and red ink as far as the eye can see on America? Who will wage war for the Soul of America and trust the living God to deliver the pagan gods into our hands and restore America to her Judeo-Christian heritage and re-establish a Christian culture?

Let’s make it crystal clear: Those who embrace homosexual marriage and homosexual Scouting – or homosexuality in general – know little and practice nothing of Christianity. Notwithstanding Sen. Rob Portman – or the 1,400 Boy Scout delegates who buckled – Christian love is regulated not by impulse, but by principle. “We hence conclude, that not only the reprobates ought to be reproved, severely, and with sharp earnestness, but also the elect themselves, even those whom we deem to be children of God.” [John Calvin]

As to the future of America – and the collapse of this once-Christian nation – Christians must not only be allowed to have opinions, but politically, Christians must be retrained to war for the Soul of America and quit believing the fabricated whopper of the “Separation of Church and State,” the lie repeated ad nauseum by the left and liberals to keep Christian America – the moral majority – from imposing moral government on pagan public schools, pagan higher learning and pagan media. Bill Bennett’s insight, “… the two essential questions Plato posed as: Who teaches the children, and what do we teach them?” requires deep thought, soul-searching and a response from Christian America to the secular, politically correct and multicultural false gods imposing their religion on America’s children.

But evangelicals don’t get it. The audience controls the stage: “Politicians are actors performing a script that is written by the audience.” [Russell Kirk]

Polling shows that of the 65-80 million evangelical Christians who read their Bible, attend church and pray, half of those are not registered to vote, half of that half don’t vote, and of the 25 percent who voted in 2012, 22 percent of them voted for President Obama.

Whether the mobilization of pastors and pews to save the nation goes against the grain of the pagan, liberal media elite is not relevant. America’s survival is at stake, and this is not tall talk or exaggeration.

Scientist have made much of the fact that chimpanzees have been trained to use sign language. They take this as proof that primates are our ancestors because they, like us, have “language capacity.” It is amazing the length to which people will go to prove what is so palpably false. The ability to make sounds which serve to communicate the simplest to most complex ideas is an astounding thing, almost supernatural in itself. Equally remarkable is the ability to reduce those sounds to written symbols universally understood and capable of conveying the ideas that those sounds represent. To suggest that all this is an accident of evolution belies the intellectual power language represents. Those are gifts given to mankind by God who created us. He gave those gifts to no other creature. There is an unfathomable gulf between humans and all other creatures because creation was designed that way. No amount of time or theorizing will ever bridge that gulf. Only mankind was made to represent the divinity and genius of God himself.

I think some clarification is in order. I'm not sure you fully understand what I mean when I refer to a unified front among evolutionary biologists.

Is there a full-blown conspiracy to promote atheistic evolution and discriminate against opposing scientific views in the sense of back-room meetings, phone calls, emails, secret handshakes? I strongly doubt it. Yet this appears to be what you think I think. Probably my fault for not explaining myself better.

When I speak of an "atheist conspiracy" I am referring to not just the hard core atheist evolutionists who control much of what is accepted by the major science organziations and what gets published in the major science journals. I have no doubt of their active paricipation in promoting atheistic philosophy.

When it comes to evolutionary biologists who are believers in God, it is not so much a conspiracy as collusion by fear, a tacit concession that nothing that might cast a poor light on atheistic evolution ever get published or discussed.

There are countless examples from history of proof that there is a GOD. I'll briefly give just one...

The War of 1812 continued into 1814. In August of that year, the British sailed up the Chesapeake and marched on Washington, DC. They met very little resistance as they entered the US Capitol. On August 24, the then unopposed British set fire to several Federal buildings including the White House! The next day, while the fires still raged, suddenly a hurricane passed over the Capitol and some claim to have even seen a tornado come down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the British! Not only was the White House fire and others put out by this great storm, the incredibly strong winds reportedly tossed British cannons into the air killing some soldiers and wounding others! When the storm was over, the British regulars and officers were so spooked by what had just happened, that they retreated - unopposed - to their ships and sailed off. (Google it.)

What happened to me to make my brain go this wrong? The short answer is: living life with my eyes open. Keep in mind that I'm more intelligent than you are. The fact that you can't understand the way I think doesn't make my brain wrong, it merely means you aren't keeping up. But more important is the fact that I'm considerably more experienced than you are. I've had three decades to observe the differences between all those school lessons about valuing equality, diversity, and vibrancy and the way human beings actually behave. Equality is a myth; it doesn't exist anymore than fairies and unicorns do. As for women's rights, well, a young woman as intelligent as you should be able to handle the math that dictates what happens to a society when an insufficient number of young women marry and have children. Since women's rights are very strongly correlated with demographic decline, they are not sustainable and are, in fact, societally deleterious. They are not so much wrong as fatal when viewed from the macro perspective.

I do believe women should have the same legal rights and protections afforded to unborn children. There is no contradiction there. You see, I don't believe that unborn children should be given the right to vote or permitted to murder other unborn children either.

I understand you have your own goals. That's fine. The problem is that women are not only valuable to society, they are invaluable. They are necessary. The one and only thing both society and the human race actually need from you is for you to marry and raise children. If you're not going to do that, then it really doesn't matter if you're going to become a human resources manager with an engineering degree or drop out of school and become a stripper. If you're only going to do what any man of similar capabilities can do, then you are an evolutionary dead end and as unimportant to society as the average man is.

The path to hell is on my bookshelf

Rather interesting read too

Quote# 94801

Etienne: Yes if witty words were responsible for creating an objective universe then Hitchens would be god. But witty words and subtle phraseology is simply a mechanism satan uses to deceive the unscientific [evolutionists], irrational and gullible amongst us. Or should I rather say the God haters around us who would rather live for self than God, those who would rather choose sin than to surrender!
Hitchens, Hawking, Dawkins and the other 150 reviewers understands nothing about the nature of philosophy or reality. And how can this Christian [I] make such a bold or objectively true statement? Because the atheist has no final authority in the universe concerning all matters of faith and practice, He can only borrow presuppositions from the Christian worldview to make his own irrational and satanic worldview seem more plausible. Thus every atheist is a thief as well.
Has any atheist refuted Dr Craigs moral argument for the existence of God. Dr William Lane Craig makes a spectacle out of atheism and atheists. Every atheist is also deep down inside a believer in God; he merely suppresses that objective fact in unrighteousness as God states in His Word, the King James Bible.
Presently every atheist is portable only because he can use the legs God gave him, he can only reason because God has given him a mind to reason with, but things will drastically change in the next life! There, in absolute blackness, he will be stationary, suffering the wrath of God for all of eternity. What a deal. And who said atheism doesn't have something positive to offer its religious followers!

William: Good luck when you stand before the God our father!
Your non belief however nicely spoken is wrong, wasted education. I believe you have already had your time before our God. I am sorry for those who do not believe !

brandon: Go to church. God is watching you. Buying this book is a direct path to Hell. Don't waste your time or money. Test the scientific evidence, pray to God and you will be saved.

When one hears the word meditation, it conjures an image of Maharishi Yoga talking about finding a mantra and striving for nirvana. . . . The purpose of such meditation is to empty oneself. . . . [Satan] is happy to invade the empty vacuum of your soul and possess it. That is why people serve Satan without ever knowing it or deciding to, but no one can be a child of God without making a decision to surrender to him. Beware of systems of spirituality which tell you to empty yourself. You will end up filled with something you probably do not want.

In March of this year (2009) I had the privilege of addressing members of the Ugandan parliament in their national assembly hall when the anti-homosexuality law was just being considered. I urged them to pattern their bill on some American laws regarding alcoholism and drug abuse. I cited my own pre-Christian experience being arrested for drunk driving. I was given and chose the option of therapy which turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I also cited the policy in some U.S. jurisdictions regarding marijuana. Criminalization of the drug prevents its users from promoting it, and
discourages non-users from starting, even while the law itself is very lightly enforced, if at all. Additionally, I urged them to actively promote the marriage model in their schools as a form of inoculation to the anti-family messages flooding their country through Western media.

All of my suggestions were ignored (despite which fact I am being blamed for the proposed law as written by certain major media outlets and the “gay” blogosphere.) Nevertheless, I commend the courage of the Ugandan people.

A broad coalition of groups — including an agency funded by the Mexican government (the Mexican Capital Legal Assistance Program), various civil rights organizations, legal ethics experts, and law professors — filed the complaint against 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Edith Jones, who in October relinquished her title as “chief judge” of that court. The New Orleans-based court is one of the most conservative in the country and handles appeals from Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

The complaint alleges that at a speech on Feb. 20, 2013, to lawyers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Jones made statements that violated basic rules of judicial ethics, including the fundamental duty of impartiality.

Among her statements:

That certain “racial groups like African Americans and Hispanics are predisposed to crime,” are “'prone' to commit acts of violence,” and get involved in more violent and “heinous” crimes than people of other ethnicities;

That Mexican nationals would prefer to be on death row in the United States rather than serving prison terms in Mexico, and it is an insult for the United States to look to the laws of other countries such as Mexico;

That Defendants' claims of racism, innocence, arbitrariness, and violations of international law and treaties are really nothing more than “red herrings” used by opponents of capital punishment;

That claims of “mental retardation” by capital defendants disgust her, and the fact such persons were convicted of a capital crime is itself sufficient to prove they are not in fact “mentally retarded”; and

That the imposition of a death sentence provides a positive service to capital-case defendants because defendants are likely to make peace with God only in the moment before their imminent execution.
