Fox Hosts: Jennifer Lawrence "Sound[s] Like An Idiot" For Calling Out GOP On Marriage Equality, Women's Rights

ANDREA TANTAROS: Actress Jennifer Lawrence sharing some harsh views on the GOP. The Hunger Games star tells Vogue magazine: "I was raised a Republican, but I just can't imagine supporting a party that doesn't support women's basic rights. It's 2015 and gay people can get married, and we think that we've come so far, so yay! But have we? I don't want to stay quiet about that stuff." The 25-year-old star also slamming Kentucky county clerk, Kim Davis. You'll remember she is the woman who refused to issue gay marriage licenses earlier this year. Lawrence saying, "She's a lady who makes me embarrassed to be from Kentucky. All those people holding their crucifixes, which may be as well -- I don't know -- pitchforks, thinking that they're fighting the good fight. I grew up in Kentucky. I know how they are." Wow, I'm embarrassed for Jennifer Lawrence, I'm embarrassed to be a woman, Harris, to listen to a female spout some idiocy.

HARRIS FAULKNER: Pitchforks? Really?

TANTAROS: Yes.

FAULKNER: Wow. You know, I'm actually speechless about this, because hearing you read it was so different than when I read it myself. Hearing those words out loud, did she practice that? I mean, maybe this is a script from an upcoming movie that we don't know about. Because I --

TANTAROS: No we already made -- the movie Clueless was already made. We had Stacey Dash on the couch.

FAULKNER: I just -- I don't believe it's reality.

TANTAROS: These are pretty dumb remarks.

FAULKNER: So yeah, you know, Sandra said something earlier, and now I'm starting to get it. You know, they're supposed to be actors and actresses. When they do this sort of thing, I'm curious, does this kind of check a box against them for marketability? Because people may not like her much after --

SANDRA SMITH: I don't know. In Hollywood it makes you more marketable, right?

FAULKNER: You think so?

SMITH: Look, she's -- I'm afraid to say this now, but she is a very good actress. She's won numerous awards. Her movies do very, very well. I don't know if she's looking for attention here, but I'm just speculating. But I mean this -- for her to speak on behalf of so many people, religions, groups. It's just irresponsible. I don't think it'll hurt her though.

TANTAROS: She insulted quite a few people in that rant that she did, Stephen. I just want to know what rights does Jennifer Lawrence not have?

STEPHEN HAYES: Well she is well within her rights to say that she doesn't want to stay quiet anymore, and she obviously has passionate views about some of these issues. I would just say as a matter of helping her, giving her some advice, if you don't have anything intelligent to say, you're better off remaining quiet. And to suggest that Christians wield their crucifixes like pitchforks, really says much more about her ignorance than it does about Christians broadly.

TANTAROS: Alright so she has the right to say these things.

JULIE ROGINSKY: She does.

TANTAROS: And she has the right to sound like an idiot, I guess.

ROGINSKY: Well, I don't think her views on Kim Davis were idiotic. I know everybody's going to disagree with me, but I think Kim Davis took her religious views and foisted them upon the rest of Kentucky, you know, the rest of her county. And the reality is that, quite frankly, she was supposed to follow the law, the law was what it was, and she chose to say that her religion was more important.

HAYES: But even for people who believe that -- and there are some conservatives who believe that -- even for people who believe that, that's one very narrow point that she made, and made inartfully. But then to broadly say that Christians wield their crucifixes like pitchfork, it's absurd.

ROGINSKY: I don't disagree with that at all. But listen, let's not forget, Jennifer Lawrence is, what, 22, 23, 25 -- I don't care, I keep saying this.

SMITH: She's an adult.

ROGINSKY: You're right, but I keep saying this, who cares what Jennifer Lawrence has to say? I mean, I get that she's a celebrity, but can we please stop listening? And I say this as a Democrat, I really don't care what George Clooney has to say. Who cares what these people have to say?

FAULKNER: He looks good, though.

ROGINSKY: He looks good saying it, but you know what? Let's stop paying attention to them.

HAYES: She looks OK.

ROGINSKY: Let her say what she wants to say. You are only offended if you choose to be offended. You don't like what she says? Don't go to her movies then.

TANTAROS: Oh Julie, as long as liberals keep saying dumb stuff, we're gonna cover it right here on this program.

ROGINSKY: Well, then I'll keep coming back and helping you say it. Alright.

Tragedy in Paris

Those of us who have visited Paris are stunned to see this beautiful city now filled with carnage resulting from several terror attacks that have claimed well over 100 lives and seen hundreds injured (dozens seriously). When such horrible tragedies occur, it makes all people think about their own mortality. As Christians, we understand, based on the teaching of Genesis 3 and other passages, that such evil acts are the consequence of the wicked sinful heart of man. When Christians agonize over terrible terrorist attacks, they should realize that evil like this is ultimately a result of our sin of rebellion against our Creator. As we look at the horrific TV images of terrorism, we can’t help but cry out as the Apostle Paul did:

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? (Romans 7:24).

Our AiG website has articles on why horrible things happen in this world (like 9/11 in America) and why God allows them. You can find them later, but first, you should be praying for the people of France—in fact, the whole world that now fears terrorist attacks from Islamic extremists—that God would touch the hearts of each person affected in some way by the terrorism in Paris and bring them to Himself. We pray for the families of those who lost their lives; only the God of all comfort can truly console those who are in anguish right now. Then also pray that all people will recognize that they need to be ready to meet their Creator, for one day we will all face death.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken

I Am Not of This World (John 18:36)

Jesus is telling us here that he was from another world…Heaven…and ‘world’ always means a planet and so we can deduce that 2000 years ago Jesus was part of a knowledge base that knew how to travel through space…a knowledge that we are becoming only too aware of now.

It seems everyone has seen UFOs and are now taking them very seriously. A glance through YouTube will bring this home in no uncertain terms. Official bodies are exploring them and organising welcoming committees to sit down and exchange ideas with them. Even, as one internet source states, the pope will introduce Christianity to them. But here is the rub…They are obviously far more advanced than us, and, it seems, some are not as nice as others, so we need to be very careful.

It is foolish to think they would even deem to sit down with us and go through all the claptrap that we spin out to any we want to take advantage of. But, perhaps, they, or at least the highest authority that they represent, have already spoken to us in a timeless language. In a language that will echo through all eternity. In a language that reverberates around the thinking of many people, many nations, many languages and many kings. Perhaps the ‘little scroll’ of Revelation 10:11 is a reiteration of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection, in a more modern and accurate context.

It makes sense to me.

I am afraid with the gays it is not a matter of live and let live. This is a zero sum game in which the winner takes all and the losers leave with nothing.
We tolerated the gays, just as we did with Muslims and welcomed them to become integrated into society but this was not want they wanted. What they wanted was to totally dominate society, suppress freedom speech and expunge anyone from the public space who would not conform to Pink Law,or Shariah.
Both Islam and the gaystapo have one aim in common and that is to destroy the Christian faith and Biblicaly defined marriage and family.
Do not think for one minute that Islam and homosexuality are incompatible. Lord Waheed Ali who was instrumental in getting so much queer legislation through Parliament and Pav Akhtar who at one time was responsible for the professional development of over 40,000 teachers are gay Muslims.
The gays are not an oppressive minority. Stonewall dominates Parliament and all major organs of the public service.
But thankfully, this cannot last forever, what goes up comes down. Get ready for the crash.

(Re: Why do atheist complain about Christianity more than Islam)

Because we are their real enemies.

Islam, atheism, buddhism, hinduism etc. all play for Team Satan.

Christians play for Team Jesus.

This is a Team Jesus vs. Team Satan fight.

Team Jesus wins.

You need to pick a team to play for and if you don't pick a team you get to join Team Satan by default.
That's how this game plays, the Atheists instinctively know we are their real enemy.

Bernie Sanders...

Yesterday 8/9/15, Bernie released is “racial justice” platform which proved even more how uninformed he is and that he doesn’t know anything about white supremacy…

AKA, he’s your typical white liberal…

Let’s begin, Bernie can’t connect economic inequality to racism and white supremacy. He thinks they are just separate of each other. They aren’t. The man is trying to discuss class without addressing the root (white supremacy) and why many people of color are suffering. Now, class and race DO go hand-in-hand, but black people who are doing well finically are still affected by white supremacy. Money won’t fix it. White supremacy is inherently intertwined with Capitalism in this country.

The man seems to thinks white supremacy = extreme violence (Dylan Roof, KKK, White Nationalist etc). That those groups, and individuals are the perpetrators of physical violence against black and brown people besides the state… LOL, SURE. This man doesn’t even know what white supremacy is in any context to this society.

Sorry to break anyone’s heart but diversity won’t fix our problems. “We need police forces that reflect the diversity of our communities.” Not going to help. Putting people of color in these white supremacist institutions doesn’t fix the problem. The root of the institution is STILL racist. Stop thinking diversity will fix racism, it won’t. People of color can and DO help enforce white supremacy. People of color can be some of the biggest white supremacist (internalized racism, self-hate).

White supremacy can be found in every institution in the US and it goes hand-in-hand with capitalism. His platform isn’t addressing that at all. You can’t get to “equality” with just ignoring the root of the inequality.

Blood-Deep Denial
Here’s what I learned from yesterday:

That, for the most part, liberal and progressive whites think that because they’re liberal and progressive, that automatically means they’re anti-racist and pro-black.

They don’t think they have to do any self-inspection or any work to become anti-racist and pro-black. They think that simply by not being conservative, they’ve done all the work they need to.

What I’ve discovered, however, is that white liberals and progressives are just as racist as their conservative counterparts, but are in a far deeper, nearly impenetrable denial about it.

Yesterday, white people calling themselves liberal and progressive supporters of Bernie Sanders came into posts that specifically outlined the ways in which white liberals and progressives could be racist ACTED PRECISELY AS THE POST OUTLINED and seemed not to notice or care. Or seemed to think that the actions of the Black Lives Matter activists justified the ensuing racism.

Post after post of racist ire all while denying that there was any racism at all.

A tiny handful of conscious white people called them out about it, but they didn’t give a shit because they thought being liberal and progressive is like a Get Out of Racism Free badge that affords them the right not to entertain any such criticism.

I now completely understand how racism remains a structural feature in the United States: the majority of the white people who call themselves the allies of black people and imagine themselves anti-racist advocates are in fact nothing of the sort and there’s absolutely no way to convince them that’s the case.

They believe their racist characteristics are anti-racist.

What’s the difference between a conservative racist and a liberal racist?

The conservative racist knows they’re racist even if they deny it publicly. The liberal racist’s denial, however, is blood-deep.

Media outlets have been fooled by a joke photo long in circulation into believing that a Photoshopped picture of notorious anti-GamerGate critic Veerender Jubbal was one of the suspects responsible for the recent Paris terrorist attacks that occurred on Friday.

...

Other users have also attempted to defend Jubbal and create awareness about the hoax.
But a large majority of the internet has found the situation hilarious, especially due to the irony of Jubbal’s previous comments that have painted entire innocent communities as terrorists and hate-mongers.

...

Luckily for Jubbal, there are many women that love serial killers and the foulest dregs of society serving life sentences, so an online reputation as a suicide bomber should be more than enough to earn him the female company that so far has eluded him.

Quote# 114513

A religious Zionist cleric from a Jewish settlement on the West Bank told mourners on Saturday during the funeral of an Israeli father and son gunned down by Palestinian terrorists that the attacks in Paris were deserved due to what Europeans "did to our people 70 years ago."

The quote from Dov Lior, the chief rabbi of the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba, was first reported by the Walla! news agency.

"The wicked ones in blood-soaked Europe deserve it for what they did to our people 70 years ago," Lior said.

The controversial rabbi once wrote an approbation for a book called The King’s Torah that was co-written in 2009 by radical settler figure Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira, which permitted killing civilian non-Jews in times of war.

He was summoned by police for questioning on grounds of incitement to violence but refused to report for questioning, saying the Torah was not open to police investigation. He was subsequently arrested and brought for questioning but no charges were made.

Last year, Lior published a letter saying that Jewish law permits destroying the entire Gaza Strip to bring peace to the south of the country.

Lior said that he had received questions about whether Jewish law permits harming a civilian population not directly involved with the combatants.

He first cited the opinion of the Maharal of Prague, a renowned 16th-century rabbi, who wrote that a nation under attack can wage a fierce war against the assaulting nation, and that it is not obligated regarding the safety of people who are personally involved in hostilities.

“At a time of war, the nation under attack is allowed to punish the enemy population with measures it finds suitable, such as blocking supplies or electricity, as well as shelling the entire area according to the army minister’s judgment, and not to needlessly endanger soldiers but rather to take crushing deterring steps to exterminate the enemy,” Lior wrote.

Addressing the hostilities with Hamas, the rabbi continued to say that “in the case of Gaza, it would be permitted for the defense minister to even order the destruction of all of Gaza so that the South will no longer suffer and to prevent injury to our people, who have been suffering for so long from the enemies surrounding us.”

“Talk of humanitarianism and consideration are nothing when weighed against saving our brothers in the South and across the country and the restoration of quiet to our land,” he said.

On Tuesday, November 10, the Minnesota Student Association (MSA)–the undergraduate student government at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (UMN)– rejected a resolution for a moment of recognition on future anniversaries of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

.....

At-large MSA representative and Director of Diversity and Inclusion David Algadi voiced severe criticism of the resolution. He also made sure to emphasize 9/11’s status as a national tragedy in his response.

“The passing of this resolution might make a space that is unsafe for students on campus even more unsafe,” said Algadi, “Islamophobia and racism fueled through that are alive and well.”

Algadi added that holding a moment of recognition over a tragedy committed by non-white perpetrators could increase racist attitudes on campus, asking, “When will we start having moments of silence for all of the times white folks have done something terrible?”

Contrary to Algadi, Cameron Holl, a Student Senator for the College of Liberal Arts, condemned the resolution’s failure as, “simply un-American.”

“There was no reason for any student not to vote on this resolution and much of the dissenting discussion was wildly speculative and unrelated to the resolution itself,” said Holl, “Additionally, the same people who voted to close discussion early didn’t offer any amendments or changes to the resolution to find compromise and do their due part as a member of forum, which I think shows a lack of effort and respect for other’s opinions and beliefs.”

University President Eric Kaler, MSA President Joelle Stangler, and MSA Vice President Abeer Syedah all supported the 9/11 moment of recognition resolution. All of this high level support seemingly meant very little, however, given the wide margin of the resolution’s defeat.

the same goes for girls who dress like that then get raped..ok rape isn't good but if you dress like that of course you're going to get more attention and maybe a drunk guy sees you and can't help himself..the girls have to take some responsability for themselves and not dress like sluts then cry when there are consequences..also these girls often lead men on then complain when he takes it further

Paige Sutherland reports for AP:

Michelle Kosilek, born Robert Kosilek, has been in a heated legal battle to get the surgery, which she [sic] says is required to relieve the emotional stress caused by the disorder. Kosilek is currently serving a life sentence for killing spouse Cheryl Kosilek in 1990.

In 2012, a federal judge ruled that the department must give Kosilek the surgery.

In January, that decision was reaffirmed by a three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which said it is a constitutional right to receive medically necessary treatment "even if that treatment strikes some as odd or unorthodox."

The prisons department appealed and won a rehearing before the full appeals court. Five appeals court judges heard arguments on the matter Thursday and could take months to issue a decision.

See also this prior post.

A brief note on language. The Associated Press article quoted in this post referred to Michelle (formerly Robert) Kosilek as "she." After pondering a while how to handle that, I decided to leave it in but put "[sic]" after it. I do not agree with the way AP handles this.

The DSM-IV defines Gender Identity Disorder thusly:

[...]

The DSM-5 muddles this, but I won't get into that.

This is a genuine mental disorder, and people afflicted with it deserve as much compassion and understanding as persons afflicted with any other disorder. What Political Correctness now demands, though, is that we share the delusion and use feminine pronouns for men who are convinced they are women.

Sorry, that is the proverbial bridge too far. It is one thing to be understanding and inclusive. It is quite another to deny reality just because another person's mental illness causes him to deny it. If a person with schizophrenia thinks he is the king, do we have to refer to him as "his royal highness" in news articles? No. Same thing.

In this article, the AP gets even loopier than normal and refers to the murdered Cheryl Kosilek as the murderer's "spouse." Um, excuse me, but Cheryl Kosilek was Robert Kosilek's wife. Why is AP afraid to say so?

The Rainbow is the sign of the Son of Man like in the times of Noah!!!!

It makes perfect sense. What is happening in the US with rainbow flags everywhere is the sign. Its not a good sign but a sign that things are really getting started. With marriage being a holy joining of a man and woman becoming one, the passage of the LGBT marriage law countrywide truly shows that the US is turning away from God. LGBT people are just that, people, who deserve love and respect, but they have lost their pathway to God. The rainbows everywhere in a celebration of what is wrong in God's eyes is a grim and somewhat sacreligious sign post of what is to come.

It may not be a flood, but as it says in Revelation, no one is going to like what is coming; God's wrath is never pretty and its going to be even worse than anything ever before. I pray you all come to God through Jesus and will be protected from harm and accept everlasting life and the relief of all negative things we all experience in life with profound joy and communion with God.

Between the signs in the sky with blood moons on Jewish Feast Days, conjunction between planets that haven't been seen in 2000 years, the growing persecution of Christians worldwide, the rise of Muslim extrematism, the rise of open Satanic practices, the diseases, the earthquakes, the immorality of the world...don't you think its time you and the world woke up to what is as plain as the nose on your face to faithful Christians?

Everyone is going about their lives, business as usual, and there is such tension, such a growing feeling of something immense and powerful about to happen...please accept Jesus as your savior and step into God's love before its too late. God bless us all. I don't know when or where or how it will go down when it begins, but I would pay attention to the roadmap in the form of the Bible that has fulfilled each and every word of prophecy uttered in it as God's Word will be the companion to guide us in things to come. Just know His wrath is coming.

Please, please stop being stubborn and open up your heart to Him, submit to God completely and fully, and let yourself be filled with His love and protection. He will save you and make you whole. Lord, please be with us and help lead more people to your Son, Jesus that we may be found worthy and forgiven for our sins through His sacrifice. In His name we pray, Amen!

I am all for equal human rights; but the Bible gives the husband the power of authority over his own wife. Feminism has nothing to do with equal human rights; it is a matter of women wanting equal authority in the home, the church, society and even demanding a feminine side of the Godhead. Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven for wanting to “be LIKE the most high” (Isaiah 14:14). Lucifer desired EQUALITY with God. That was his downfall. Likewise, Lucifer (the serpent) tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden by deceitfully saying that her and Adam would become “as gods” (Genesis 3:5) if they disobeyed God. Eve desired to be EQUAL with God. We see this same evil attitude in the world today in feminism. Feminists desire to be EQUAL in authority in the home, the church, society and to redefine God as being part female. God is strictly masculine.
