It is common among unscrupulous debaters to create a “straw-man,” easily rip it apart, and run off declaring yourself the winner.


However, this isn’t about winning or losing a debate. It’s about where someone will spend eternity, so these issues should be addressed.

As Christians, we often have to put up with our beliefs being misrepresented through straw-man arguments, and this gentlemen has a misrepresentation in each sentence.

We are not talking about “the Christian God.” We are talking about the one and only Creator. There is only one God, and the First of the Ten Commandments begins with “You shall have no other gods before me.” Since then, man has made up millions of other gods (Hinduism has 450,000,000).

The second straw-man is to say that God is “all loving.” Nowhere in the Bible does it say such a thing. God is love and mercy, but He’s also justice and truth. To say that He is all loving is to create another god. It’s like a vicious murderer believing that the judge before whom he stands condemned, will let him go because he is “all loving.” Such a thought is ridiculous.

If a judge is a good judge, he will see to it that a murderer gets exactly what he deserves. The best of us deserve Hell in the eyes of our holy Creator, but the Scriptures tell us that God is rich in mercy and offers us Heaven.

The LGBT protesters in Charlotte, North Carolina, were chanting, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, transphobia's got to go."

They were seeking to disrupt our Christian rally where we called on the City Council to vote "no" to the so-called nondiscrimination bill, one which would actually discriminate against Christians and other people of conservative moral values and one which would make all public bathrooms and locker rooms gender neutral.

I had just finished speaking and tried to engage some of the protesters, asking them what "transphobia" was.

When I didn't fit their definition of having an irrational fear of individuals who identify as transgender, I was told that my failure to embrace their identity made me transphobic.

I asked one young man, an African-American, if he would consider me black if I really believed I was black.

He explained that skin color was outwardly determined but that it was "primitive" to claim that gender was determined by one's biological and chromosomal sex. Primitive!

No, gender was determined entirely by how you felt in your own mind, regardless of biology and anatomy.

When I pressed him on the matter of racial identity, he conceded my point. If I genuinely believed I was black, then I was black.

That prompted me to ask the City Council members when I had my turn to speak later that night (I was one of more than 115 people who signed up to address the issue) if I should be entitled to minority housing benefits if I was convinced I was really black.

This was not meant to mock but to underscore the absurdity of dismissing all external tests and claiming that reality is determined by whatever I believe it to be. How can human society even exist with such social madness?

Most frightening of all was the passion with which these protesters presented their views. To call them intensely close-minded and dogmatic would be a severe understatement.

When I asked a young lady if I could use a stable if I believed I was a horse, she said "yes" without slightest hesitation. And while she didn't have children of her own (she said she's unable to) she wanted me to know that she teaches 90 young children and would be perfectly at home with them sharing a bathroom with, say, a biological male who believed he was female.

For me even to question her was absurd in her eyes, and yet this young woman is influencing our little ones.

The wording of this point is very important. If we left out the word “rational,” then the statement would actually be false and quite easy to shoot down. You don’t need supernatural theism to be curious, or to want to explore the natural world. But you do need supernatural theism to have a rational justification of science. What does the word rational mean there? It means that scientific inquiry done on the assumption that there is no higher intelligence than evolved human intelligence is making a value judgment that it has no right to make.

Why is knowledge better than ignorance? The atheist would respond that ignorance has less survival value than truth; after all, if you believe wrong things or do not know enough about your environment, you’re less likely to survive and flourish. But this explanation only applies to a very small amount of scientific knowledge. There is little survival value in knowing, for example, the complicated workings of time–space theory, or the genus of certain insects, or the distance of Jupiter from Mars. All of these facts are pursued by scientists as being intrinsically valuable, yet they offer very little information that can help guarantee a species’ continued existence on the planet.

The real explanation is that scientists pursue these facts because there is intrinsic value in knowing what is true about the world, regardless of how much help it gives us. Human beings believe that knowing is better than ignorance because they believe that truth is better than falsity, and light is better than darkness. But where does such a conclusion come from? It does not come from scientific principles. Science itself offers no self-evident account for why it should be pursued. You cannot study science hard enough to understand why you should study science at all. To study science presupposes a valuing of truth that must be experienced outside of scientific study. It is only rational to pursue scientific knowledge that doesn’t offer immediate survival value if there is some external, transcendent value in knowing truth. Theism offers an explanation for why knowing truth is valuable. Scientific atheism does not.

First, the theory of evolution is true, and humans have descended from lower life forms over time. Secondly, humans are rational beings in a higher degree and superior way to lesser evolved creatures. Plantinga then points our attention towards a tension between these two facts. If human beings are a more evolved species of primate, then our cognitive faculties (ie, the parts of our body and mind that allow us to be rational creatures) have evolved out of lesser cognitive faculties. But, Plantinga says, if God does not exist, then the only factors that affected human evolution are time and chance. Based on time and chance alone, why should we be confident that our rational minds–which are merely the sum of lesser evolved minds plus time and chance–are actually rational at all? What basis do we have to believe our own conclusions? How do we know we are actually capable of knowing truth more than a primate? If the only players in our existence are lesser creatures, time, and chance, how do we know we are even highly evolved at all?

This astute observation was echoed by Thomas Nagel in his recent book Mind and Cosmos. Nagel, an agnostic philosopher from New York University, argues that human comprehension of the universe cannot be explained merely by atheistic evolutionary processes. It makes no sense to assume that humans can really make sense of their world on a conceptual level if human consciousness arose out of the very world it responds to. Nagel agrees with Plantinga that atheistic naturalism cannot explain why human beings can be rational creatures and do rational things that should be trusted.

Scientific knowledge is only possible if things unprovable by science are actually true. If Carl Sagan is correct and the material universe is all there was, is, and ever will be, then science itself is nothing more than a shot in the dark. If, however, human beings are the products of an infinitely greater Mind, then we have justification for believing that true and false are realities and not merely the shadow puppets of our ancestors.

However, data gathered from across the State has shown that using the Act’s provisions, activists and the police have prevented possible human sacrifices in seven cases.

“We had been saying that such incidents do happen in Maharashtra and that is why we needed the Act. Now it is time to implement the law more effectively to curb such inhuman practices,” said Krushna Chandgude of the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (MANS). Mukta Dabholkar, daughter of the late rationalist Narendra Dabholkar who had first proposed the law, said the fact that seven cases were prevented itself showed its importance.

Rubbishing claims that the Act was against Hindus, Ms. Dabholkar said around 20 cases had also been registered against occultists from the Muslim community. Mr. Chandgude pointed out that most of these murders were committed after tantriks claimed that the sacrifice would bring hidden treasure. “Poverty and lack of education are certainly the reasons behind these crimes. The truth of the matter, however, is that such statements as those in this article, and the questions about belief in evolution being asked of politicians, actually portray their anti-God agenda.

Just as the pro-evolution Bill Nye “The Science Guy” has done (and continues to do), the author of the Huffington Post article attempts to equate rejection of evolution with the rejection of the whole of science and thus undermining studies in biology, genetics, diseases, and computing. Because of a commitment to the religion of naturalism, many evolutionists try to intimidate people through the use of terms like “anti-science” in their attempts to bully people into thinking that those who reject evolution are undermining technological advancement.

I have observed that in most instances when the secular media write articles about Answers in Genesis, the authors will state we are against science and will use terms like “anti-intellectual,” “anti-academic,” and so on, and claim we are undermining the whole of what they call science. And then, when using the word science, they will discuss technology and try to intimidate people into believing that organizations like Answers in Genesis will adversely affect America’s technological achievements for the future. This is the agenda of Bill Nye, as was seen in his debate with me last year, and as witnessed in his numerous interviews and lectures around the world.

That’s why during my debate with Bill Nye, I concentrated on explaining that the word science means “knowledge.” And then I explained the difference between historical science (beliefs about the past) and observational science (using our five senses, repeatable tests, and so on) that helps build our technology.

During the debate, I showed video clips of creation scientists who had developed some great technological achievements. I then asked Bill Nye a question (a question I have often asked publicly of all evolutionists—which secularists won’t and cannot answer):

"Can you name one piece of technology that could only have been developed starting with a belief in molecules-to-man evolution?"

There is no such example! In fact, the real reason Bill Nye—and reporters questioning politicians who are contemplating running for US President—are bullying and intimidating people about evolution is not because belief in molecules-to-man evolution is necessary for technological advancement. It’s due more to the secular humanistic, anti-God agenda they want implemented!

You see, if there is no God who created us—no God who is the absolute authority—then “every way of a man is right in his own eyes” (Proverbs 21:2).

When the Huffington Post author states, “In truth, the President of the United States needs to be scientifically literate,” the author really is saying, “In truth, the President of the United States needs to be committed to the religion of naturalism and reject the absolute authority of the Word of God.” Having abandoned the Bible as the authority, the President can then insist on supporting gay marriage, abortion, and whatever else such a President deems is “right in his own eyes” (which is what we see happening).

There is a right way to fit lego pieces. One can fight for the right to join two pieces from the back or from the front and it may seem like the politically correct thing to say or fight. We can even pass laws to say we recognize that lego bricks can be joined front to front and back to back, and that everyone who says no are bigots who have a narrow view of how lego pieces should be stuck. We can even hide behind free speech, by arguing for lego pieces to be joined however they like, and saying that pro-conventional lego builders are silencing the voice of liberal lego builders and that they should shut up (denying pro-conventional lego builders the right of free speech in the process).

But the reality is that there is only one way to naturally put lego pieces together. Sure, pass your laws, silence the naysayers, tell tales of happiness, and all that... but lego pieces were never made that way.

Judas was a follower of Jesus Christ. Yet, the Bible reveals that Judas was a traitor, who sold out the Lord Jesus. In the same way, there are many followers of Christ today, such as Catholics, who are traitors.

They also have betrayed the Lord Jesus Christ; by supporting a religious organization that worships statues of dead saints, by trusting sinful priests in a Confessional Booth to forgive their sins (1st Timothy 2:5), by giving money to a religion that rejects the Commandments of God to keep their own traditions (Mark 7:9), by praying the Rosary in hope of obtaining eternal life by calling upon the name of Mary (Romans 10:13), by repeating the same vain repetitious chants and dare call it “prayer” (Matthew 6:7), by calling the sinful priest “Father” (Matthew 23:9), by abstaining from eating red meats on Friday (1st Timothy 4:3), by forbidding priests to marry (1st Timothy 4:3), and so forth. Catholicism is a prisonhouse of religion!

Catholics are no better than Judas who betrayed the Lord. Judas went to Hell in his unbelief. Likewise, Catholics will not be allowed into Heaven in their own self-righteousness, nor can the so-called “Blessed Virgin” help them. I have news for you, Mary DIDN'T remain a virgin; she had several other children by Joseph (Matthew 13:55-56). So many people play the game of religion, while living in the depths of wickedness; but Hell awaits them.

If you attend and support the Catholic Church, you are no better than Judas who betrayed Christ. You are supporting a religion that spits on God, rejects the Commandments of God, and follows the manmade sinful traditions of men. You can't make up your own rules as you go. God is the Creator of the universe, so only God makes the Rules! Your 30-pieces of silver won't buy a ticket into Heaven. You have betrayed the Savior, giving your money to a bunch of liars and false prophets who neglect the Word of God, and worship the Pope. The Pope is a false prophet, a man of sin. The Catholic Church is straight out of the pits of Hell.

Just as Judas was a follower of Christ, but still went to Hell; so will Catholics go to Hell for placing their confidence in man instead of God (Psalm 118:8; Romans 10:3-4). Judas was a religious phony, as are Catholics!

I did not write this article to be mean, God forbid. I wrote this article because Hell is a literal place where Christ-rejecters spend eternity suffering (2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9). Catholics are arrogant and don't care about the Bible. A lot of people get upset with me for bashing the Catholic Church, because they don't believe that the Bible is God's Word. If they say they do, they're liars, because anyone who believes in eternal damnation in Hell will hate the Catholic Church, as I do. I DON'T hate Catholics! What I hate is false religion that blinds men and leads souls into Hell fire and damnation. I don't want you to go to Hell. I believe the Bible. Catholics are discouraged by their priests from studying the Bible.

This argument is often used by homosexuals to try and justify their lifestyle. It says that they had no choice in the matter.

However, the "straight and gay" comparison is not a legitimate comparison. The correct (and biblical) comparison is "I didn't choose to be gay the same was you didn't choose to be an adulterer."

The Scriptures warn that adulterers, homosexuals, and fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God. Adultery, homosexuality, and fornication are sins in God's eyes (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

Being "straight" is not.

What was interesting more than the interview itself were the viewer comments, where you could see women, some even not ugly looking, manifesting their attraction for the actor.



My thoughts were: this guy is average looking at the very best. What happened to the PUA claims that only the top 20% get women? Doesn't the positive response from women have more to do with the fact that he is a famous actor rather than his actual looks?

Brad Pitt, the hero of the PUAs, who is supposedly in the mythical "top 20%" that nobody ever claims to be in, is married to a woman who is UGLY and even CHEATED on him.

Evolutionarily, the female attraction for men has been relatively unimportant. If a female did not want to mate, she could simply be raped. Later on, she could also opt not to marry, but it was economically far more advantageous for her to marry. In other words, there has never been a strong need for women to feel physically attracted to men at all.

What percentage of male presidents, celebrities, billionaires and powerful CEOs are single?

What percentage "very good looking" men are single, even the more intelligent ones?

It seems to me that the attraction of women "mysteriously" coincides with what's socially attractive. If someone is looked upon by society (even in trashy trades like ball games), he will find women. If someone is considered a social outcast or "uncool" then he is destined to rot alone, no matter how good looking.

When women say they find a man "attractive", what do they really mean? Does physical attraction play a big role at all? Aren't most women simply "brainwashed" into thinking someone is attractive?

The debate was posted on Dec. 16, and out of the 5 participants in the debate, I was the only one who stated that consensual adult incest should never be legal. All the other participants, including a professor and a psychoanalyst, advocated for removing the laws against consensual adult incest.

Are you surprised?

But what's the problem? Love is love, right? As long it's consensual, who can say no to love?

When I did the interview on incest, I used the same Chesterton quote, explaining there was a reason that incestuous relationships, even consensual ones, were wrong.

It's the same with marriage.

Those who have taken down the fence of marriage as God intended it have opened up a Pandora's Box of possibilities, none of them good.

Interestingly, this is in harmony with the goals of many pioneer gay activists who despised marriage and wanted to overthrow it as an antiquated, patriarchal, abusive institution.

This is an important lesson for parents. God often doesn't answer our prayers right away to test us, humble us, chastise us, and teach us. God didn't just give food and water to the Jews. God waited until they were thirsty to the point of dehydration. God withheld food until they felt that they were starving. God tested them, to see how they'd react when the going got tough. Instead of trusting and thanking God, they complained and rebelled. They failed the tests God gave them. So God had to chastise them repeatedly. This is exactly the way God operates still today. People get angry and rebel against God because God makes them wait, forces them to trust Him, and doesn't spoil them. There is much to be learned from all this as parents.
