More than 85% of legislators in Russia's Duma approved the bill -- seen as part of President Vladimir Putin's drive to appease conservative pushing "traditional family values" -- on Wednesday in its second reading. It will need a third reading and vote before going to the upper house and then to the president to sign into law.

The bill's sponsors, including conservative senator Yelena Mizulina, say the proposed law would simply bring family law into line with reforms passed last summer that loosened punishment for other minor assaults.

Mizulina, a staunch proponent of traditional values, was also the author of Russia's controversial "gay propaganda law," which prohibits "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relationships."

The Russian Orthodox Church, with its emphasis on the traditional family, is also influencing the debate. So are the traditional rules of Russian family life, including the "domostroi," a centuries-old manual prescribing strict rules of behavior and requiring absolute submission to the head of the family.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to say whether domestic violence should be decriminalized, but told journalists that "creating solid families is a priority. It's what everyone needs."

If I can hold on and handle taking it up the ass enough times to eventually get infected - I can finally become part of a niche community and find the woman of my dreams. Plus - I'm so fucking desperate right now I'm getting to point where fucking dudes is a necessary step in order to gain skills to apply to women and men since I think I may be bi. The film seems to have focused only on suicides that could be triggered if the after-life is seen as real. But so many other things would also happen which would be much more significant.

1. People would be happier because they know death is only a transition.

2. People would be more moral and ethical because someone is watching and keeping records.

3. People will focus less on pleasures here and more on their duties and responsibilities.

4. Scientists would stop philosophizing and giving their opinion on religion and spirituality. Dawkins would be somewhat depressed.

5. No one will bother about the cosmos and galaxies, big bang, exo planets etc. Better things to do.

6. Similarly with QM, evolution etc., though genetics and medical science would still be fairly relevant.

7. Crime may come down for fear of the after-life.....because the after-life does not mean only 'heaven', there would be a 'hell' too. Some NDErs have said so.

8. Generally, priorities will change dramatically, and lifestyles will change...though some people may still be unable to control their base animal instincts.

Only wealthy people could afford them! Albeit, by the year 1952 Americans owned 22,000,000 TV sets! Dr. Jones saw way back then in 1942 that “sin doesn't look as black as it used to look.” Today in 2017, we are surrounded by all manner of filth and wickedness, and people have grown totally accustomed to it. What homosexuals need is to be told that they are ungodly sinners in need of the new birth in Christ Jesus. Tolerating their filthy deathstyle won't help them, it will CURSE THEM!!! If a man won't come to Christ as a guilty sinner, receiving the gift of eternal life from a loving holy God, then He cannot be saved any other way.

Biblically, there is no middle ground, there can be no compromise. The homosexual community even criticizes the book, at TheGaVoice.com website. They criticize the book because they want to be accepted as they are, that is, proud homosexuals. This is all really strange. Senators in South Dakota approved a Senate Bill 55 on Wednesday barring schools from prohibiting teachers from questioning established scientific theories. It could be assigned to a South Dakota House committee next week.

“No teacher may be prohibited from helping students understand, analyze, critique, or review in an objective scientific manner the strengths and weaknesses of scientific information presented in courses being taught which are aligned with the content standards established pursuant to,” the 36-word bill reads.

South Dakota Sen. Jeff Monroe sponsored the bill following failed attempts in 2014 and 2015 to give teachers more leeway regarding controversial scientific lessons. In 2014, Monroe sponsored SB 112, which would have stopped school boards from prohibiting teachers from teaching creationism.

Though South Dakota’s SB 55 doesn’t specifically mention evolution, experts say the bill leaves the door open for teachers to teach whatever they want with regards to controversial topics.

“This is horrible, but let’s say I believe in eugenics,” Deb Wolf, a high school science instructional coach told the Argus Leader. “(SB 55) says that I couldn’t be prohibited, I couldn’t be stopped from teaching that as long as I did it in an objective scientific manner, and it doesn’t specify what that means.”

Similar bills are making their way through legislatures in Oklahoma and Indiana. According to the National Center for Science Education, Oklahoma’s SB 393 would require administrators to “assist teachers [in finding] effective ways to present the science curriculum as it addresses scientific controversies.” And Indiana’s Senate Resolution 17 would urge the state department of education “to reinforce support of teachers who choose to teach a diverse curriculum.”

“Where topics are taught that may generate controversy (such as biological evolution), that the curriculum should help students to understand the full range of scientific views that exist, why such topics can generate controversy, and how scientific discoveries can profoundly affect society,” Indiana’s Senate Resolution 17 reads.

Glenn Branch, deputy director of the National Center for Science Education, told the Hill the language of these bills makes them “very hard to challenge on the basis that they’re unconstitutional, because they’re not requiring anyone to do anything.”

“They’re no longer trying to ban teaching evolution,” Branch said. “They’re no longer trying to balance teaching evolution. They’re now trying to belittle evolution.

What's that? Left-wing authoritarianism rather than Right-wing? Again, my heart bleeeeeds for the Reaganomics-loving, gun-toting, Bible-humpers who might be "oppressed" by a government that doesn't seek a democratic "mother-may-I" to do what we know factually to be right. If creating a secular, scientifically-literate, society with racial, sexual, and economic equality means holding a gun to the heads of the morons who act as a millstone around our society's neck, so be it. I have no sympathy for them.

However, if you have another option, please tell me what it is. What we're doing now doesn't seem to be working.

Jackson followed that up by noting that, as a result of her comments, Burrell’s scheduled appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was cancelled, saying that no Christian should be watching DeGeneres’ show in the first place because apparently she’s a woman “who thinks she’s a man.”

“I guess Ellen DeGeneres would say she’s a woman but she likes other women,” Jackson said. “To me, folks, it’s just confusion. ‘Cause look, here’s the reality, if a woman is a lesbian and likes women, say masculine-type women, why wouldn’t you just like a man? So, to me, the whole thing is just confusion, that’s all, and the Bible says it’s confusion.”
