(1) That the verb “created” in Genesis 1:1 is in the perfect tense is very true. That “when a perfect verb is used at the beginning of a unit in Hebrew narrative, it usually functions to describe an event that precedes the main storyline” is less defensible. The perfect tense is by far the most common tense used in Hebrew and as such carries very little exegetical freight (think the aorist in Greek). Having said this, the likeliest explanation of the verb is that it details an event that is actually part of the biblical story line, not an undefined precedent to the storyline that stands temporally outside of it. See below.

(2) I also disagree that Genesis 1:3–2:3 represents a “highly patterned structure of forming and filling” (informed readers will recognize here the language of the highly inventive “framework theory” popular today). Instead, this chapter is, in terms of its linguistic features, a very mundane and simply structured piece of Hebrew narrative not unlike most of the rest of the book. All the syntactical and rhetorical features of this chapter point routinely to a narrative sequence of consecutive days—days that must necessarily occur in immediate succession for the very survival of the unfolding universe.

The Earth, Darkness, and Water Are Created Before “The First Day.”
Building on his assumption, above, that Genesis 1:1–2 details the background to the creative week, Taylor’s article now clearly asserts that light, darkness, earth, and water existed before the creation week (and apparently a long time before, in order to accommodate the assured results of science). However, if, as I have argued in point (1), Genesis 1:1–2 details the actual creation of the unformed and unfilled materials that occurred on Day 1, this argument fails.

Who is right? Well, Exodus 20:11 gives us a very clear answer: “In six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them.” There could be no plainer rebuttal of Taylor’s affirmation: the heavens and the earth and the seas were not created “before the first day,” but rather on one of those six days, viz., the first.

Taylor’s arguments that (1) light existed before the celestial beings and (2) reached earth immediately are thorny ones for which YECs do not have a unified answer, but few see these as serious problems. In answer to the first problem some YECs argue a temporary light source or light sourced in God himself. Ultimately the debate is incidental. After all, God hears without ears and sees without eyes, so it is not hard for us to extrapolate light without a sun. In answer to the second problem some suggest that God created with apparent age and others that the speed of light has slowed since the creation week. Again, however, this is an intramural and incidental debate. God is a supernatural God who makes bread appear instantly without growing the grain, milling it, or baking it; likewise, making mature light is not difficult for our supernatural and omnipotent God.

The Seventh Day Is Not 24 Hours Long
Sure it is. Miles Van Pelt’s comments aside, it would appear that the argument from Exodus 20:11 is unassailable. The Israelites were to work six ordinary days and rest for one ordinary day, just as God created in six ordinary days and rested for one ordinary day—one that started at evening Friday and ended the same time on the following day. That the original Sabbath, by analogy, points to a greater rest for the people of God (Heb 10 etc.) in no way suggests that the Sabbath template itself was itself a “greater day.” Admittedly, there is no “evening-morning” clause used of the seventh day in Genesis 2, but there is no syntactical reason forthcoming to believe that it was anything other than an ordinary day.

The “Day” of Genesis 2:4 Cannot Be 24 Hours Long.
True. And you’ll not find a YEC who affirms otherwise. Some will be astonished by this, no doubt, but we young-earth creations really have noticed Genesis 2:4 before today, and our answer is long-standing and well developed—if only our detractors cared to read rather than assume our arguments. The YEC argument is not an unqualified affirmation that the word yom always refers to a 24-hour day. If one of us were to make such an argument, then our old-earth brothers would have good reason to snicker. But we don’t say this. And so I beg the old-earth community to have the integrity to stop rehearsing this silly strawman as though it were a legitimate argument.

This brings me, finally, to five positive arguments why we ought to think of the days of Genesis 1 as literal, several of them distilled from the material above:

The days of Genesis 1 are literal, 24-hour days because when one examines the many other singular uses of yom in a non-compound grammatical structure throughout the OT, the idea of a literal day is nearly universal.
The days of Genesis 1 are literal, 24-hour days because they are accompanied by ordinals (first, second, third, etc.). Of the more than 150 uses of yom with an ordinal in the rest of the Hebrew OT, just one (Hos 6:2) refers to something other than a literal day.
The days of Genesis 1 are literal, 24-hour days because of the use of the qualifier “evening and morning” throughout Genesis 1. It seems to go without saying that while literal days have mornings and evenings, figurative days do not.
The days of Genesis 1 are literal, 24-hour days because anything other than literal days renders the comparison with Exodus 20:11 a matter of equivocation. Israel worked six literal days and rested for one literal day. God created for six literal days and rested for one literal day. The idea of God creating via a six-point framework and then resting eternally does not seem to offer much of a precedent for Israel’s seven-day workweek.
Finally, and more historical/theological than exegetical in nature, the days of Genesis 1 are literal, 24-hour days because this has been the overwhelmingly majority plain reading of the text throughout church history—at least until it came into conflict with the “assured results of modern science.” The old-earth idea of non-literal days is without serious doubt a product not of grammatical-historical exegesis, but of the accommodation of the Bible to the assured results of modern science as independent, norming factors in biblical interpretation. Old-earth creationism is at its heart a blunt denial, I would argue, of the Bible as the norma Normans non normata.

With the two best arguments now having been tabled, in one case the argument has been met with a rebuttal and in the other case it has not. A debate is meant to be a structured argument, wherein opponents on the battlefield of ideas meet each other on equal terms. The objections I have raised to the material advocated by Dan are these:

1. The authors of the article Dan cited were not equitable with the facts, opting rather to foist a false paradigm onto readers of their material than to be totally honest in their approach

2. Varve counts contain a demonstrable old cosmos bias

3. Circular reasoning: Varve counts and radio carbon dating are being used to calibrate each other

4. The original researchers, according to Dan’s own presentation, had to retract and amend their findings on the order of a nearly 40% adjustment downward. It seems clear this only happened in retrospect and in response to negative attention garnered from young earth creationists

Dan has been given the opportunity to respond to the rebuttal material I have submitted, but at no time have I been granted the same opportunity since Dan has steadfastly refused to interact in any meaningful way with the material tabled in my opening argument. In other words, Dan has refused to abide by the simple format of an actual debate, stating for his answer to this objection that he’s just not interested in the material I’ve submitted because it’s old and isn’t well enough understood. Either Dan has not the foggiest idea what it means to have an actual debate, or he thinks the rules do not apply to him but to other people only. Maybe Dan has confused the average Disqus conversation for actual debate. If so, I’m sure he’s not the only Disqus commentator to strain beneath the weight of that error.

My argument rests on the following premises:

1. The planets in our solar system each have measurable magnetic fields

2. All of the planetary magnetic fields are diminishing in strength and this fact is supported by empirical evidence. In all cases, the magnetic fields of the planets in our solar system have been measured and the majority of them have been measured multiple times. In all cases, a simple reading of the documented facts shows that the fields are weakening over time.

3. In the case of Earth’s magnetic field, if calculated into the past, field strength decay rates indicate the field cannot possibly be older than 10,000 years, because if it were older than that, the intensity of the field would have been sufficient to melt Earth's mantle.

4. While secular scientists acknowledge diminishing field strength, they have proposed that the fields somehow regenerate their strength and spontaneously recharge, in direct violation of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Secular scientists have never been able to come up with a model of how the fields are ‘regenerating’, but they steadfastly maintain the fields MUST be periodically regenerating, because their model of the cosmos is the correct model. This, again, is the exact opposite of any sound scientific method.

My debate opponent has had nothing to say about any of this, except that he believes the above except that he believes the above claims are confusing and not well enough understood by science. He offers nothing by way of support for that claim, however. He just says so and maintains that my arguments are somehow contrary to ‘good’ science or are otherwise beneath his dignity to address in any meaningful way.

The purpose of this debate is a simple one: The purpose is to show that one model, the Bible’s specified 6000 year-old model of the cosmos, is the correct model and that the preferred model of modern secular science is the incorrect model. I had intended to show that one model can withstand any manner of attack even from a reasonable and seemingly well-educated mind which has adopted belief in an alternate invalid model. Unfortunately, we have been partially cheated of that purpose because Dan has refused to comply with the rules. So be it. Any impartial observer of this debate has seen one side easily undermined by perfectly valid observations rendering the conclusions of the varve study a study in wishful thinking. The method for dating the Earth which the conductors of that study have latched onto, is a wholly useless tool for the purposes they have assigned it. They have guaranteed a false outcome from the outset based entirely upon the invalid presuppositions with which they begin their study. It is little different from the stilted outcomes generated by other flawed presuppositions, namely those which attend the conclusions drawn when supposing light has always and only traveled at a constant, unchanging and unchangeable speed. It’s a spurious assumption and the very scientific community which relies upon that assumption for other ways of supporting its model, has uncovered the proof of its unreliability. A non-constant speed of light is very often addressed in frank discussions within the secular scientific community:

Such is the problem with invalid assumptions and the far-reaching chaos those assumptions can generate.

One model of the cosmos is utterly unaffected by the ever-changing foundations of secular science. That is the biblically-valid model of a 6000 year-old cosmos. The Heavens and the Earth were created by God very nearly 6000 years ago. Scientists who begin with this understanding of our reality are not called upon to continuously conjure up fantastic arguments which, however implausible-sounding, just might provide the sliver of possibility needed to keep their model alive. But each time the so-called experts on the other side – with their ‘overwhelming consensus’ – come up with what they present to the world as bullet-proof arguments or sets of evidence which demonstrate the validity of their model to the exclusion of any young cosmos model…

…they are shown to have overplayed their hand every… single… time. And the example tabled by Dan for the purposes of this debate – a debate which never really happened – is no exception to that rule.

The third was "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and he sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. And saith unto him, all these things I give thee, it thou, wilt fall down and worship me."

I am friendly and kind to everyone, but I would never hire, bid Godspeed, voluntarily work with, nor associate even remotely with a known homosexual. I would NEVER allow my children to play with other children, who live under the care of two homosexuals. My primary concern would be the other children teaching lies they have been taught about homosexuality to my children, and a secondary concern would be the threat from the queers themselves. A homosexual cannot be trusted for numerous reasons! One reason is that you cannot trust a person who is living in rebellion against God. Another reason is that homosexuals think abnormally, and that is cause for concern. We have a Biblical duty to refute all works of darkness. This spirit holds leaders long enough in disorientation to effect changes and to turn the course of a nation to darkness irrevocably. They are also responsible for planting wicked counselors that influence kings towards evil. The award looked like a golden cup laced with shining stones of all colors and shapes. This cup was for divination. Along with increased authority in Satan's kingdom, he was also given a scepter.
Following him was the second prize given to a serpent-like spirit who was awarded for seducing leaders. He came on his belly as a serpent of many bright and beautiful colors to receive this award. When he arrived at the platform he took the shape of a beautiful woman; she was completely spotless, pleasant, beautiful and charming to look at. The whole assembly was hypnotized just by looking at her but the spell she cast was broken when she turned back into a serpent to crawl back to her position. She was given a silver cup laced with precious stones.
The third winner was also in the form of a lady; she is the spirit of mammon. She is the harlot of Babylon who prostitutes herself for the silver and gold of the nations. She wields tremendous authority among the nations of the earth. She uses silver and gold to cause nations, individuals and institutions to bow and worship at the throne of Lucifer. She sets nations up to depend on her by showing extravagant generosity beyond words, especially in their times of distress. Once nations, institutions or individuals come to enjoy the fruits of her "kindness", they then begin to depend on her. After showing all forms of "kindness" to her new guest, she then quietly waits for the honeymoon of their newly-found relationship to be over. Once this time of flatten* has fully-bloomed and she has come to know that her new guest is depending on her. she then brings out the shackles. Very few escape her maximum security cage. She guts life out of her captives and leaves them as zombies in her hard labor prison camps. Kings and Queens of the earth worship her. Many have pledged their very souls to her. She is single-handedly responsible for many who are called to preach the gospel not answering their call. Although she was given the third place award, she has caused the greatest number of people to become and remain loyal servants of Satan; bound to him and his slavish systems. She is the deal-maker for Satan. She buys nations, individuals, institutions and territories in times of their economic hardness and life turbulences. She gives them deals they cannot refuse when they need it most. Not many turn down her deals; those who do. suffer tremendous consequences. She brings to mind the statement of Satan to God in Job 2:4. "Skin for skin! Yes. all that a man has he will give for his life." Coming to collect her award, she was decked out with very expensive jewels and precious stones. She was coming drunk looking very much like a Mardi-Gras character. She was drinking from her trademark gold cup and she was drinking her trade drink; the blood of the saints. The most shocking thing was that the crowd loved her and thought she was funny and very entertaining in her costume. Women outnumber men in Russia, because millions of Russian men have literal drank themselves to death with Vodka! In 2014 the average Russian woman had SEVEN abortions during her lifetime! So Russia is a sinful place, with a massive drug abuse problem, just like the USA. Albeit, thankfully, Gay Pride Parades have been banned in Russia. I never thought I'd desire to move to Russia, but I'd like to live in a decent place where homosexuality is outlawed. Homosexuals are a very real threat to children, which statistics show. There are “women's restrooms” at McDonald's, and then there are “family restrooms.” There are no longer men's rooms! I have seen no less than a half dozen women walk right into the men's restroom over the past year. American society's degenerative influence affects the territories as well. It is just a matter of time until women's restrooms disappear too, and perverted men walk right into them! Satan is the author of confusion, not God (1st Corinthians 14:33). Youth are deliberately being confused today with the blatant lies of Evolution, to confuse them concerning the truth about God and Creation, as recorded in the Holy Bible. Youth are deliberately being confused today with hundreds of counterfeit English Bible versions, to confuse them concerning the inspired King James Bible. You are deliberately being confused today about their sexual gender, to lure them into the demonic homosexual deathstyle! Youth are targets for Satan today! If the Devil can get 'em young, then he's got 'em for life!

All across the United States today, social networking companies are deleting the account of Christians who speak the truth. This is not liberty. When a tiny handful of mega-corporations buy up and consolidate several dozen media outlets, and then censor the truth, you effectively have a police state and freedom of speech is dead! That is exactly what is happening in America today! Facebook, Google, YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking websites have terminated the accounts of truth-tellers!

I just learned today that the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona had their bank assets seized by Bank America, for Pastor Steven Anderson's courageous Biblical stand for the truth that homosexuals are perverts, who Biblically were deservedly put to death under Old Testament Mosaic law! Like it or not, that is THE TRUTH! Homosexuality is a perverse deathstyle that needs to be resisted, condemned and outlawed! People with good sense will fully agree! Only a rebellious God-hating society of spiritual degenerates would go against the inspired Word of God, by tolerating sin in any form. The purpose of liberty is the freedom to do RIGHT, not WRONG. When people do WRONG, they lose their RIGHTS! And if a society won't have God as their Ruler, then they will be ruled over by ungodly tyrants! Enacting more laws and lengthening prison sentences won't deter crime, it will only fill up the prisons! America is on a slippery slope into Hell! In response to God's abundant goodness upon America, we have forgotten the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:12).

I get shivers just reading Revelation chapter 18, because the Word of God practically gives the location of the United States! If humanity has proven one thing throughout history, is that mankind always destroys himself! Ecclesiastes 7:29, “Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.” A nation's people can only shake their fists at God in sinful defiance for so long, before His longsuffering runs out, and then God's wrath and judgment will assuredly come! If the Luciferian elite were eagerly willing to sacrifice the lives of 2,996 Americans on 9/11, do you think they won't murder millions to further the New World Order of the coming Antichrist? God is judging the United States by giving us over to our enemies...

Right now, there is nowhere to go and nowhere to hide, so not knowing what is going on is sometimes better for peace of mind and the ability to just live your life.

Could something like the Handmaides Tale actually happen? It is already happening. But did you ever hear this quote? “Not one witch was ever killed in Salem” If you never heard it before, well now you did because it is true.

The rituals, and rites and cruelty, and pure evil portrayed in this show is exactly what the Lucifer, Satanic, and other black cultures do. Not one character in this show has any redeeming factors. They are either pure victims or pure victimizers. Since I am an empath it makes it very difficult for me to watch, and yet they suck me into it because it is done really well. The characters are compelling (on the dark side) and the story always leaves you hungry for more. I keep waiting for something good to happen, but in reality what are the odds Hollywood would do that?

If you have seen “Eyes Wide Shut” they describe one such ritual of some sort of Satanic order. They wear the same robes used in the Handmaides Tale. They abuse sex and dehumanize it in any way possible. They are cruel and have no problem killing people without blinking an eye.

The movies that Hollywood is presenting as ‘fiction’ have a basis in reality. Ask yourself, why does Hollywood have no shows with strong great character who display great qualities like loyalty, love, compassion, and other loving attributes? People are thirsty for it, and would line the streets to see it. But it is not what they want to promote right now.

Right now, Hollywood, mainstream media, left wing politicians, and maybe more organizations that I can’t think of. But, they all promote murder, mayhem, and a living hell on earth. What you should ask yourself is What are they trying to tell us? and where do I want to stand.

What is even more disturbing in the Handmaiden’s Tale is the insinuation that this kind of intolerance is coming from the Christian right, when nothing could be further from the truth. Remember; “Not one witch was burned in Salem”

Praise be to Allaah. One of the evil actions that takes place during parties and celebrations is taking pictures of women. It is haraam whether the pictures are taken with a video camera or a regular camera, but taking pictures with a video camera is worse. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade one woman to describe another to her husband as if he can see her – as it says in al-Saheehayn – so taking pictures – especially on video – is undoubtedly worse than simply describing, because the woman can be seen in a real sense, not just in the imagination.

This, naturally, applies if the pictures are of women only. But if the gathering is mixed then there is another sin as well as the sin of making pictures. Usually in women's gatherings on such occasions they compete in wearing short and revealing clothes. So taking such pictures and distributing them leads to the spread of immorality and sin and encourages such things, and makes people start to take the matter lightly. What should a woman do if she does not want her picture to be taken at all, then her picture is taken of her in all her finery? What should a woman do whom Allaah has guided after she went astray, and pictures of her at parties are in circulation?

We have also heard that some those who go to these parties and videotape them are young men, who mix with women at these parties or they sit alone with them, and no wise person who has any knowledge of the sources of sharee’ah will doubt that this is evil and is haraam, and that it is stooping to the lowest level of imitating the kuffaar.

And the Shaykh also said: With regard to taking pictures of events, no wise person will doubt that this is reprehensible, and no wise person – let alone a believer – would agree to let his mahrams’ pictures be taken – mothers, daughters, sisters, wives – to be a product to be shown to everyone or be viewed for the enjoyment of any immoral person. Even worse than that is videotaping events, because this is like a living picture with sound. This is something that will be denounced by every person of sound mind and proper religious commitment, and we cannot imagine that anyone who has a sense of modesty and faith would allow it. And Allaah knows best.

If you say to yourself that these things are not true, you better be very sure. For if you are wrong and the Word of God is the Word Of God. you will lose eternally. You will be man eternal trouble. It is your decision. Make it wisely. Don't live a fool, don't die a fool. Don't let anyone make this decision for you. Though you curse their names forever, it will fix nothing. You will be on your own. No one will care and no one will comfort.
Oh man. humble yourself before your Maker and seek Him. Seek the true and living God. Seek God while He may be found. Call on Him while He is still near. Be wise and listen to Wisdom as He stands on the concourse and calls.
Oh God, have mercy on this teeming humanity.
You did not create them so you can destroy them. They are like sheep without a shepherd; confused with life, bound by ungodly and godless imaginations. They do not know their left from their right.
