Ambulance Chaser
I would quote Supreme Court Precedent, but you wouldn't accept that, despite the fact that I showed you three law professors and a Christian legal society's publication proving that it's law.

afchief
You have proved absolutely nothing!!! I mean NOTHING!!! I have shown you in the Constitution that the SCOTUS has NO authority to strike down laws. I have shown you the founders intent of the SCOTUS and it's role. I have shown you past presidents and their dismissal of SCOTUS opinions. I have shown you where Congress (whether federal, state or local) is the only body to make, change or remove laws (besides a direct vote of the people).

And you CALL yourself a lawyer and do not know these simple truths.
???? Like I said that law degree you have should be used for your dog to take a dump on. It is worth that little!!!!!

Ambulance Chaser
So, is it your contention that "real" lawyers go about their business NOT on the premise that court rulings are binding?

You should introduce me to one.

afchief
Then Mr. "Make believe Lawyer" show me the law!!!! Show me where laws have been removed by the SCOTUS. For example show me the state Constitution that has removed the ban on homo marriage.

SHOW ME THE LAW!!!!!!!

Ambulance Chaser
I've shown you plenty. Now it's your turn. Show me a single lawyer who thinks that court precedent is not binding.

afchief
You have shown me NOTHING!!!! This is why liberalism is such a mental disorder!!! You believe lies!!! We have all been programmed with cleverly crafted lies and propaganda. It has often been stated that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. Look at the phrase "separation of church and state". A lie nowhere found in the Constitution. A lie that was built upon a lie in the 1947 Everson v Board of Education opinion.

Like I said an “opinion” does not change the law. They just tell us that it does and we believe their lies. We then repeat their lies and teach them to others. The lies soon become “truth”, although it is not The Truth. I’ll say it again. Courts do not make laws. Courts do not change laws. And Courts do not remove laws.

You are just repeating lies!!! Read the history of our Founders and there intent of the SCOTUS. I have posted why the Founders believed the SCOTUS should have "little" power. Why their decisions are only opinions. Why the Legislative and Executive branch have to agree to change, make or remove laws.

Study to show yourself approved!!! Because up to now, you have NOT!!!!

Ambulance Chaser
Are you going to answer my question or not?

Do "real" lawyers practice based on the premise that court precedent is not binding?

YES OR NO?

afchief
I just answered your question above! Read!!!

You say you are a lawyer? If so, you know you have to provide evidence to convict or to win an argument! And it has to be beyond reasonable doubt.

Show me WHERE is says case law is binding in our Constitution? Show me where the SCOTUS rulings are nothing more the "opinions". Show me where the SCOTUS can "strike down laws".

Show me!!!!

Ambulance Chaser
Fine, I'll show you (again, because you apparently missed it the first time.)

Here are 3 articles on the subject.

[Posts links to an article on when precedent is mandatory and binding by an LSU Law School professor, a guide to binding precedent and case law by Georgetown University Law School, and a U.S. Government publication on proper use of case law.]

afchief
LSU Article: Does NOT give authority to strike down laws. No where does it say otherwise!!!
Georgetown Article: NOTHING in there about Federal courts "striking down laws".
Fedral Gov't Publication: I can't even get on this website. AGAIN, there is NOTHING in there about courts striking down laws. NOTHING!!!

Here, educate yourself again.

"The power of the Court to implement its decisions is limited. For example, in the famous 1954 case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, the justices ruled that racial segregation (separate but equal) in public places is unconstitutional. But, it took many years for school districts to desegregate.

The Court has no means (such as an army) to force implementation. Instead, it must count on the executive and legislative branches to back its decisions. In the Civil Rights Movement, the Court led the way, but the other branches had to follow before real change could take place."

Ambulance Chaser
Here's another one, from the Christian Legal Society.

[links to an pamphlet on where to find law, including many instances of court decisions that struck down laws as unconstitutional. The publisher is a Christian-run legal organization whose purpose is to help Christians exercise their rights to pray and follow their faith.]

You'll note on page 10, it says "Federal laws include court decisions..." Later it says, "The Supreme Court’s decisions are law throughout the country."

afchief
This website is an anti-christian/freedom from religion website. Enough said!!!!!

From the website:

"The Supreme Court’s decisions are law throughout the country"

Can you show me where it says that in the Constitution?

If true, why do most states still have abortion illegal?

Why do states still have in their constitutions that marriage is between one man and one woman?

Now I see what websites you are going to. LIBERAL/ANT-CHRISTIAN!!!

ENOUGH SAID!!!

Jesus is the only Reason for the season. There is no such thing as a mythological “holiday season.” There is only the Advent and Christmas season. Hanukkah is not a holiday and you can’t find it in the Jewish version of the Old Testament. If the Jews want to win friends and influence people, then they should cease trying to step on the Christian Christmas. As a Greek Orthodox Christian , I find Hanukkah to be very offfensive. If the Jews want to make a big deal about a Jewish holiday, then they can emphasize Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur or even Purim, but stay away from Christmas.

Black Brothers and Sisters worldwide, it’s time for a change! The Black Race is the oldest, strongest, wisest, and most beautiful Race of people this planet has ever known. And it’s long past time that we become a living reflection of who and what we are by nature – Righteous Rulers. We may not be perfect, but at our best we are certainly the closest thing we can imagine to being so.

It’s time to pick ourselves up and race towards greatness. We have no more time for pity, self-doubt, depression, laziness, and/or backwardness. It’s time to shed the skin of self-hatred and Racial suicide. It’s time to stand strong for Afrikan/Black culture and create a world that our children can feel safe in. It’s time to purge our communities of european sexual insanity. We have to educate our youth to move from the bottom of the global Racial hierarchy to the very top.

Our great leader and eternal ruler of Afrika, the Most Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, told us that we would see him again in the world wind. And that world wind is here. His vision and goal of an internationally-unified Race of Afrikan people is right around the corner. The seeds of global Afrikan unity are blossoming and this generation of Race men and women will not allow anything to stand in the way of our movement for power and Black Racial dominion.

Listen to the inspirational words of President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia in West Afrika as he fights for the rise of his nation. In this particular instance, he is an example to all Afrikan leaders and people worldwide of what the 21st Century is supposed to look like for Black people.

This is just an early example of what the 21st Century will look like for Black people. We are going to repair the relationship between the Black man and woman worldwide. Black men will fight to gain the respect of our women and children. Black women will become the world examples of dignity, self-respect, beauty, intelligence, etc . . . Black children will outpace every other Race of people on this planet in technology, building infrastructure, food production, entertainment, economic development, and military warfare.

And in 2015, an international movement that will capture the imagination of every decent Black man, woman, and child on this planet will sweep through this planet. 2015 is the year that the Straight Black Pride Movement (SBPM) will become the movement that shapes the future of the Afrikan world. Under this banner, we will triple our population before the close of this century and be in position to protect the interests of Afrikan people worldwide.

This is a movement designed to synthesize the interests of Black people worldwide in a tangible and meaningful way. There are (3) pillars that mark the criteria for involvement:

1. You must be a heterosexual (straight) Black person who is definitively against “homosexuality”, pedophilia, bestiality, etc . . .

2. You must be a Black person whose mother and father are Black. Mulattoes cannot be actual members of this movement.

3. You must be proud of your Afrikan heritage and your Blackness and demonstrate this pride in your behavior.

[My daughter says she is an atheist?]

There's a very interesting movie out there which you can get at a Catholic bookstore. I think it's called "Science Tests Faith." I watched it a few months ago and it talks about the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. This movie shook me to the core. It was quite overwhelming. Maybe you can get her to watch it. I know it might take more than a movie but keep trying. Get a gallon of water and get it blessed by a priest and add it to whatever your family drinks. Receive Communion and offer it up for her and her conversion.

My sister too has left the church."...pray to a God that may or may not exist!" That's what my sister says. Even though it's tough I'm not giving up and you shouldn't either. I pray God will open your daughter's eyes too. Stay strong, she'll come back. Keep praying.

You do realise that your "Great Hunger," the Holocaust, and the Armenian Genocide were acts of God, right? For you see, Ham's face was not darkened. It was lightened. It was made in the image of the Devil, who has European features. God has African features. The problems plaguing Africa are acts of the Devil. The rotting of white Europe and America is God's response.

Here’s a reality about growing closer to the Lord: He tends to have a negative effect on your social life. He’s jealous, possessive, and a wellspring of strange commands. Everyone else thinks it’s a great idea to go on a prayer walk through the neighborhood, and you’re the only one hearing God telling you to stop telling Him what to do in other people’s lives. Everyone else is helping out with VBS and God is telling you not to get involved. It’s not like He’s giving you some other holy activity to engage in that you can tell everyone about–He’s just telling you that He’s the Boss, and you’re to follow His orders. Stick close to God and it’s only a matter of time until He makes you look like a self-centered stick in the muck to everyone else.

Really? You said once the SCOTUS rules the states are bound to those rulings. So if sodomy was illegal in 1986 why and how did it change? Does Lawrence vs. Texas have jurisdiction over the SCOTUS? Are you telling me it does?

Let me help educate you. The SCOTUS rulings are "opinions" and change nothing!!!! The SCOTUS needs Congress and the President to back them (by amending the Constitution) before a law is struck down, made or changed!!

That is how our government works!!!!

[On Kim Davis not wanting to put her name on same sex marriage licenses.]

Lots of posters are discussing what the fix should be, and saying things like the Governor's actions are a fix.

Perhaps - but only if the people of Kentucky wish to bend over, and acknowledge the will of the Federal Government on this issue. The People of Kentucky had - up to that point - refused to codify gay marriage. Many States had, including California, when this challenge was brought to SCOTUS.

But the activists weren't content to be judged by a jury of their State peers. They wished to troll the waters which they felt contained the majority that they sought (and - as testament to their deviancy, couldn't even find such waters in CALIFORNIA! lol).

This is about judicial activism. About liberalism, and its ability to infect and mutate. All it takes is enough members of a certain political persuasion to infect a majority of the Bench, and - viola! - laws!? WTF.

The dissenters @ SCOTUS explain clearly where the majority drastically overreached - just as Ambulance Chaser has (though I have little doubt that the brainwashing propaganda upon which AC bases his argument is so engrained as to elicit a physical reaction if challenged).

Here is what should have happened. The Governor has an obligation to the people of Kentucky; not first the federal government. I believe the Governor should have again polled the people of Kentucky to determine whether or not to compel a constitutional crisis over this issue. I believe that this is a serious overreach on the part of fedgov, and issues like this are intentionally chosen to continue the pressure to squash states rights and institute FEDGOV as the sole legit governing body.

That is not how a representative republic should be; not what the Constitution demands it be.

If the people of Kentucky demand that their voice be heard in refusing to codify gay marriage in their own state, then the Governor should honor those wishes, and refuse to obey this insipid ruling, forcing the crisis I mention.

Federal government needs to be challenged and put back in its rightful - far less powerful - place. Everything is being Federalized around you, people. Wake up.

Quote# 115672

For decades, PC culture has dominated many of America’s college campuses, a fact highlighted in Allan Bloom’s ground-breaking 1987 book “The Closing of the American Mind.” PC culture tries to shame and silence those of us with traditional beliefs as though we’re bigots or rubes.

I know about PC culture first hand, having graduated from Yale University in the 1980s. Recent events at my alma mater and on other campuses reveal that this PC monster is starting to eat its own, and the progressives, I’m happy to say, are finally getting concerned.

We’ve talked about the whole idea of “The Coddling of the American Mind,” of universities dealing with emotionally fragile young people as if they were children. As part of PC culture, a surprising number of schools, including Yale, now annually give advice to students on what kind of Halloween attire is appropriate, to avoid offending anyone.

Well, a couple of professors had the temerity to question whether such coddling is appropriate in a university setting. One wrote in an e-mail to students, “Is there no room anymore for a child or young person to be a little bit obnoxious... a little bit inappropriate or provocative or, yes, offensive?”

The professor continued: “if you don’t like a costume someone is wearing, look away, or tell them you are offended. Talk to each other.”

This advice was too much for one Yalie, who launched a profanity-laced tirade at a professor and demanded more coddling: “It is not about creating an intellectual space,” she screamed. “It is not! Do you understand that? It is about creating a home here!”

Then, of course, there are the goings-on at the University of Missouri, where anti-racism protesters blocked and shoved a student photographer who tried to cover their demonstration.

The students chanted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, journalists have got to go.” Even a Missouri communications professor supporting the rally joined the mob and was caught on film saying, “Help me get this reporter out of here. I need some muscle.”

Writing in the New Yorker magazine, Jonathan Chait, who is no conservative, notes, “The upsurge of political correctness is not just greasy-kid stuff, and it’s not just a bunch of weird, unfortunate events that somehow keep happening over and over. It’s the expression of a political culture with consistent norms, and philosophical premises that happen to be incompatible with liberalism.”

It’s a culture that brooks no opposition and will use force when it can. Chait says it’s time for progressives to get serious about the PC monster and stand up for pluralism—before it’s too late.

So while we can celebrate the fact that the secular media are finally becoming indignant over the political correctness monster that they themselves in many cases have fed and pampered for lo these many years, maybe we should pause and ask this question: What is our role? How should followers of Christ respond?

It’s easy to laugh at the contradictions and confusions of political correctness, to fold our arms and watch the chickens come home to roost. But perhaps we ought rather to engage. Yes, we’ll take our lumps when we do. But this is no time for “I told you so’s”. It’s time to set an example of civility--by more consistently speaking the truth in love, whether the issue is race, gender, human sexuality, religion, or poverty.

As our old friend Chuck Colson once said, “… in a democracy, civility is not an option, it’s a precondition that makes our system possible . . . Without civility, political discourse becomes hostile and polarized. In the resulting chaos we become vulnerable to tyranny.”

It’s good that political correctness on campus is being exposed for what it is: tyranny. To begin putting the PC monster back in its cage, a renewed commitment to civil discourse is in order. Let’s lead the way.

We are now beginning to see the Imploding of our culture. It started with just a few rare incidents that were quickly swept under the rug. Now it is involving Major College Campuses involving tens of thousands of our future leaders. Before long America will look like a Communist country. You will be afraid to say ANYTHING because your neighbor is watching you and will turn you into the authorities who will take away your home, your job, and maybe even your family members, (although they may leave the family members because we all know that in many of today's marriages, the "Til Death do you part" phrase actually means till death OR til times get too rough!)

Unless we, The People, start getting tired of this real quick and start doing something about it, we are heading down a dark slippery path real fast, and that path ends in quicksand!!!!

The left is always stealing Christianity's symbols, concepts, and language and reinventing them under their own banner--for example, the rainbow, stolen by the homosexuals.

Case in point: The phrase "politically correct." Yes, ironically, it too was stolen from us.

The alleged politically correct are neither biblically nor politically correct. One cannot be truly politically correct without being biblically correct. Politics cannot be severed from religion anymore than morality can be severed from legislation. One's political persuasion is a reflection of his morality (or, more often than not, his immorality) and one's morals determines his religion. Thus, applied politics is applied religion and applied religion is applied politics.

It is therefore imperative that we get our religion correct that we might get our politics correct

It is sad when people try and insult others for supposedly not being in the 21st century for not sharing their views. How juvenile! PP may provide many health services it their primary one is to kill babies. It is ironic that people have issues with religious people pushing beliefs in to government policies but have no issues with their secular or anti religious views on everyone through government policies. All views should have a voice in politics not just the non religious.Jason James sure has no problem shoving his anti God views on others. You forget Mr. James that it also says the free exercise there of.(exercise of religion) which lately you anti God/bible secular folks seem to like infringing on. if we are going to make assumptions, you like to call all people who follow God/bible as thumping and shoving our views on you yet that is what you are doing with your secular views. Thanks for proving my point that you are no different than most atheists. If you opened your bible you would also know that God commanded us to share the gospel to everyone. If we do not share our faith and keep it to ourselves we are disobeying God. How will others hear about the Lord and his love for us and his wanting us to repent and turn our lives over to him (John 3:16-21; Matthew 28:18-20)

He further explained to reporters that the funds will go to women’s health organizations, specifically those that don’t offer abortion services.
“If anything, we’ll have additional access points, more access points [and] better access to women’s health,” he told KSL News Radio. “So the idea that this is somehow going to harm women is fallacious.” said Governor Gary Herbert.

I agree with him. When I see these women and their signs advocating killing the unborn all under the guise of a woman’s right to choose, it is so sad that they actually believe it’s about women’s rights. How many blessings and great people did America throw into the garbage by murdering these innocents that God was giving us, how many government leaders, ministers, doctors, etc…?
I can’t understand these women who look like grandmothers, would they have wanted their grandchildren to have been murdered in the womb? But here they are advocating the murdering of other women’s grandchildren, it is idiocy to me and rebellion against God for they believe a lie rather than our Creator.
God bless the women who even after being raped and having become pregnant had the courage to carry that life to term and take the option of adopting that child out, they act out of a selfless heart, may God comfort and heal them of their pain.
To the other women who out of inconvenience kill their babies, take responsibility for your life, don’t get pregnant in the first place, there’s a choice for you since you who advocate abortion claim it is all about your right to choose, well choose not to get pregnant then you won’t have to murder your offspring.
To the women who have had an abortion and regret is so and are sorrowful about that choice there is repentance and forgiveness for you, repent and turn away from it, don’t be an advocate of it or participant any longer and God will forgive and heal you also if you will turn to Christ. Jesus loves you!

A pro-Palestinian activist who carried out an acid attack against an Israeli-owned stall in Scotland has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Scott Harrison threw the noxious liquid at a woman who was manning a stall in Glasgow owned by the Israeli cosmetics firm Kedem, which activists from the anti-Israel BDS movement have been targeting in a boycott campaign.

His lawyers are filing an appeal against the 12-month sentence for assault to injury, which was handed down by a Scottish court earlier this week. He is currently being held in custody pending the results of his appeal.

Harrison's 18-year-old victim, Greek-born Iona Georgianna, told the Scottish Sun shortly after the attack on October 25, 2014, how she felt her face "melting."

"I was working and then I felt liquid on my head," she said, describing the terrifying attack. "It started to burn. It felt like my face was melting. I was screaming. I couldn't feel my lips and my vision was blurred for two or three minutes."

A quick-thinking colleague poured five liters of water on her head, saving her from the worst effects of the mystery liquid.

Quote# 115661

Listen up, White Man: J.J. Abrams hates you. He relishes the thought of your extinction as he looks forward to a multi-culti matriarchy where instead of studying math and sciences, everyone sits around discussing their feelings. As for you, Black Man, he doesn’t want your extinction – you get to prance about doing monkey shine, so long as you obey your white, feminist overlords.

Paying money to see his film is the equivalent of auto-castration.

...

This entire film is metaphorical for affirmative action, both the direct and indirect forms. Women in today’s society graduate High School endowed with physical beauty, they enter a work environment with pro-female hiring quotas, they enjoy financial subsidies for schooling, are less likely to be harassed by the legal system, and the culture at large believes them to be naturally virtuous, hard working, and intelligent – furthermore society is as primed with a cachet of excuses for any and all short falls. Failed at school? Broke the law? Gave birth to a bastard? Men are to blame!

Meanwhile the boys who were raised beside her have been deliberately held back. Masculine behaviour was patholigized, and ritalin administered. They are presumed rapists from birth, and feminist lectures were given. They’ve been conspiring to hold women down because of their fragile, male egos, and while women’s-only spaces are an absolute must, masculine initiation and mentorship is exclusionary and evil.

The twisted reality fostered by such Hollywood films sickens me; movies are dreams, they reach deep inside of you, programming a new reality. While most storytelling comes from a place of truth, informing one of virtue and courage, this particular film has been designed to teach you lies.

The reality is that civilization is a result of men’s labour – technological progress has come from men’s inventions – even social advancement has come from men of great wisdom. The occasional female inventor or philosopher is thrown up to deny the truth of this, but even then you find that they are always – without exception – submissive towards masculinity. Jane Austin called out the petty, prideful ways of polite society (and women in particular) because she longed for the true leadership and masculinity of her beau, who’d been lost at sea. Madame Curie advanced science, because she so admired her husband the scientist and wanted to become like him. Even Ayn Rand delineated her philosophy of Objectivism as an attempt to understand masculinity, and knew perfectly well that no woman should ever be president.

Feminists have never – and will never – accomplish anything of worth, because they reject the masculine principle; the women of the greatest accomplishments are those who’ve submitted to it. J.J. Abrams preternatural fantasies about female superiors are nothing more than the symptoms of a boy whose development was arrested at an early stage. He longs for the safety of mommy’s apron strings, the pre-sexual intimacy of suckling at a milky teat, and a warm nest to protect him from the rough games the boys outside are playing. The masculine terrifies him so he denigrates father figures, while recreating the stories from his childhood.

Disney is the perfect home for him; a corporation that guarantees his safety, while monitoring and adjusting his behaviour whenever he steps out of line.

Women bleed on the birthing bed, while men bleed on the battlefield; that is the nature of the species Man. The delusions of broken boys like Abrams can’t change that – they can only pervert it. His world of gender-fluidity sells itself as freedom, but it is anything but; what he sells you is slavery, to your lusts, to your hungers, to your weaknesses, to the governments and to the corporations. True freedom, true individuality, comes when men pursue a truth higher than themselves, and women pursue the masculine truth that is higher than the feminine. These men and women are smiling, beautiful, confident, and strong because they obey a truth bigger than they are; those who follow whatever folly their hearts can conjure up are invariably ugly and wretched. It isn’t culture that creates man and woman – it is man and woman who create culture.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a perfect summation of the sickness infesting our civilization, a sickness which can only be cured by individuals devoting themselves to a higher cause. It’s time for all of us to find something worth living for, and to cast down the broken people who are held forth as idols.

[We no longer live in the middle-ages, where young girls are married off to older men (in some cases, in their 30's) to start having children until they die]

My mothers side of my family does and as i've said we all turned out fine none of us have any special genetic gene that causes us to cope better with the fact that all my female relatives were "victims of pedophiles" and i assure you that Naha city isn't stuck in the dark ages so why if my mom could turn out so well can't the other girl? It's because people like you keep going blah blah blah pedophiles are evil blah blah blah they need to be shizzle. Which i completely and 100% agree with as you might know from my other posts in similar topics truely lusting for a young child and being unable to control your urges is sick and you don't deserve rights in my eyes. However for )hopefully the last time.

THIS IS NOT PEDOPHILIA!

She's bleeding and as i've said is no less secually and developementally capable then the average 16 or 17 year old who we as society have no real problems with letting run off with a 50 year old man. In my eyes him wanting to have a secual relation with her is no worse then him wanting a sexual relation with a more petite 16 year old it's just a matter of how society chooses to better inform the 16 year old because some old man picked a number out of a hat and said that people over that age can do more then people below it. Theres no mistaking that the 12 year old girls probably making a big mistake but someone of 20 years of age isn't a saintly all-knowing model of wisdom and maturity. They can't really tell whether the 12 year old girls into it or not. All you Anti-pedo's in this topic are acting like he's this fat creepy psychotic 40 year old. Tell me would this be a big deal if the male was 16? having been both 16 and 20 i can honestly say i'm not all that different. When your going through (or just getting over) puberty numbers and quantitative figures don't really make much of a difference.

As for your preference of the law over nature, i can do nothing but respect your opinion theres no way to debate your preference you have your opinion i have mine. I see nothing wrong with this the only difference i see between 20 and 12 is one different digit and a different numerical order i see her as a woman by physical standards you obviously don't agree.

[just because she's menstruating doesn't mean her frontal lobe has developed enough to make fully rational decisions. They are physiologically/cognitively less mature than people older than them. They probably still think as a child. It's not until later teenaged years that the cognitive rationality associated with being mature is developed.]

I disagree i think that by 12 they have the cognitive ability to make these types of decisions however i'm not a doctor and have only taken one university psychology course which had no relation to children. However being 20 myself i can say without much need of proof that i also have yet to fully develope mentally and therefore i'm just as justified in making mistakes as she is. Who really gets to judge who's developed enough to do what they want? Yes there are certain obvious boundaries and had this girl been 10 and the man been in his 30's or older i'de have the same opinion as TheBlackSuperman or John but 12 and 20 just don't seem far apart enough (both developmentally and numerically) to be considered sick or wrong.

[Opinion? if it was just my opinion, mr.20 year old pedo wouldn't be behind bars now would he, its not just "MY" opinion.]

Your opinion + the opinion of a bunch of grumpy old farts who have more influence on people then they should. I'll bring this up again TheBlackSuperman my mother was 13 when she gave birth to me and my dad was in his mid to late 20's i CHALLENGE AND DARE YOU to explain why she and her mother and her mother and her mother were all capable of having a succussful relationship with these "Hunters" and now live pretty fufilling lives without any real complaints about there childhood and why this girl can't. Seriously you seem like the type to give it a shot go for it.

[No, it is wrong for an adult to take advantage of a child, and have sex with that child." We as a society have a duty to our children, and to keep them from making such mistakes.]

Except what authority do you have to judge it as a mistake? I'll invite you to take up my challenge aswell.

My mother was brought up in a very American culture and had a child with a very American man. He may or may not have just been interested in getting some fresh good kitty! or he may have legitimately loved and cared for my mom none the less he eventually left her and she was forced to care for yours truly all by herself she was left a single mom to a "Pedophile" but within a couple years she got over it moved to the states got a university degree and is now living happily and even ocassionally meets with that pedophilic monster to have a cup of coffee with him when she visits Los Angeles. Why are these 2 so different? infact the Man in this article is a bit younger then my dad is and is certainly much less mentally developed and my mom was no further ahead developmentally then any other girl her age. Yes 8 times out of 10 things go bad but that means 2 times out of 10 they go right it's a gamble and so long as they know the odds and have some guidance i feel a girl of 12 years of age has the right to decide whether she wants to have a sexual relationship with this man.

[I don't know how you managed to conjure the "bright side" out of that article, long story short, he took advantage of her, she had a kid, he had enough then ditched her most likely moving on to greener pastures, she grew up hardened her skin and made the best out of a bad situation, forgave him and that's about the jist of it.]

I guess theres not a "bright side" to the situation however it turned out no worse then any other guy ditches baby momma story its unfortunate but nothing sick or wrong occured and she was never scarred by the fact that she had sex with an older man. Also why do you assume he took advantage of her it's not often but as i think i forgot to mention he did indeed for a while legitimately love and care for her without any unnatural sexual urges they had sex after having atleast a bit of a normal relationship. Whos to say this 20 year old was going straight for the sex yes he probably was but that doesn't mean the next 20 year old to like a 12 year old girl is going to be the same. I'm not denying that the man in the article was quite possibly a creep if i knew him i certainly wouldn't want anything to do with him but i still stand by my opinion that a 12 year old and a 20 year old wanting to have a relationship isn't that terrible and isn't pedophilia and therefore shouldn't really be a crime (or atleast not a severe one)

['Nosey' mum saved teen from sex attack .A teenager who was groomed online by a paedophile has been warning others about hidden internet dangers, after being saved from a sex attack by her "nosey" mother.]

Honestly the age of consent needs to be lowered, if you can bleed you can breed. My mom was 13 when she had me and my dad was in his mid 20's my mom knew what she was getting into and was mature enough to handle the consequences as would any other 13 year old if western parents stopped babying there children until they turn 20. She has boobs she can bleed its not paedophelia its no worse then having a petite fetish.

[at 12 (if shes in year 7 at school) shes only just started learning about puberty and how her bodies changing. It wont be 1 or 2 years later till she'd properly learn about the full extent of sex and relationships. Involving contraceptives and pregnancy prevention.]

Which is a fault of the educational system just because we don't have to rush through life anymore doesn't mean we have to baby our teenagers. When a girl starts bleeding out her peehole it means that nature says she's good to go. She can say no if she wants and i'll respect that but I hold natures standards high above societies you might find that sick but i find you sick for conforming to what a bunch of grouchy old men say is good and bad. Personally i wouldn't be interested in a 12 year old simply because they tend to be whiny, irritating and superficial but if i were a little hornier, it was legal and the girl asked, yes i'de go for it. Pedophilia is an attraction to prepubescents unless the girl is a really late bloomer then she's pubescent and if you think that pubescent sexual relations are "disgusting" and wrong then you'd better all go out and buy your purity rings.

[I also think that a young girl who faces something like pregnancy will struggle, they are too young to go through that]

My Mom was 13 when she had me my grandma was somewhere in the 14-15 range as was my grandma, great grandma and great great grandma all of them and myself were fathered by men almost twice there age but we all turned out fine. Once you've hit puberty maturity is a matter of conditioning parents need to realise that there kids aren't kids anymore and they need to start learning to be adults pretty damn soon.

[Preconception is not fail proof. Actually a Clan Leader of a Runescape Clan I was once in got his girlfriend pregnant because of a teared condom (although both were in university at the time) and the girl was raised heavily catholic and refused an abortion whereas]

pfft if she was a real catholic she wouldn't be wearing a condom anyways. I agree sex can have serious consequences but in reality a 12 year old isn't much less capable then a 16 year old girl and we all know that most people are getting laid somewhere around there (infact i think the average was 13 years old last time i checked).

[fudge i hate pedophiles]

Except he's not a pedophile she's got tits (small as they likely are) and she should be on her period therefore he's not trying to have a sexual relationship with a child he wants one with an adolescent and considering he's 20 thats not all that uncommon. My last girlfriend was 15 (i was 18) she was no more of a teen then the 12 year old girl and i was no less of an adult then the "creepy man". As i've said i have my doubts that she actually "accidentally" gave her number to the man so i'm pretty sure she knew what she was getting into.

Won't it be great when Obergefell v Hodges, Lawrence v Texas and Roe v Wade (and let's not forget Obamacare) will be repealed under a President Ted Cruz and you secular humanists will no longer have a monopoly on immoral legislation?

@Eamon Arasbard:
And finally, I have a question about an argument which I've seen from a lot of Objectivists regarding primitive societies -- namely, that you should support any advanced civilization which is in conflict with a more primitive society for possession of territory, for the reason that they are more advanced. How far do you take this argument?

I actually haven't heard anyone state this. Or at least, stated this way, it really isn't Rand's position. For Rand's position, I agree she made unfair generalizations of Native Americans, but her premise as I remember is that a sufficiently primitive societys has no sense of property rights. If they have no sense of propety rights, there are no property rights to violate. Any "invaders" are morally justified to claim territory, especially by being a considerably advanced society. I don't think it is meant to justify killing, just that property wasn't stolen or appropriated. It's not that one society or another has territory, though.

The important question is if they really were so primitive. Maybe some were, but as you say, plenty did have notions of property and/or rights, even if not fully developed.
